you will need nitromors or something

It takes ages and the finish is crap.

Get it sent off for vapour blasting if you want a good finish.

Polishing is never as good as you imagine and its really hard to stop the polisher slipping and then gouging the frame.

Not worth the effort in my book

you need to know who owns the land first and in England that isnt as easy as it sounds.

Plus most upland fells, moors etc are private for grouse so managed shite for the shooters to ponce about on.

The country is a managed playground not a single natural habitat anywhere.

I am not too fussed about hunting either way, but the whole cruelty of dogs tearing apart a fox bit baffles me.

Animals kill each other and a dog killing a rabbit/rat/fox etc is what they do. (They do it very well btw.)
Ever see a Jack Russell kill a rat?

I am just baffled that people are not up in arms about the killing of ugly animals.
Can there be a ban on foxes killing sheep, cats, chickens etc.

But considering we kill more foxes with our cars should there be a ban on cars in the countryside?

But can everyone drop the ranting against posh people, its really pathetic, being classist is just a load of w@nk.

My friend is in her 60’s and still does plenty of xc, and all the most technical riding in Bingley, Cottingley, etc, Alpine riding and regularly shames girls in their teens and twenties when it comes to downhill and enduro.

apart from a damaged knee that is not getting any better she is still fitter than me and just as prepared to launch off anything reasonable ;) Not 20 foot gaps etc,
But now she is riding motorbike enduro and getting better at that, I think a Rally beckons next

Ton’s points on armed police in Europe and their influence on British footie fans can be seen as a factor in calming them down, but a bigger factor is probably how the German, French, Italian police beat the crap out of anyone who was English at the scene.

And even thought many English protested that they were not causing trouble after getting smacked round the head with a riot stick, and then bundled in a van, detained and deported, it did stop the violence and calm the situation.

Just a shame our police sit back at times of civil unrest and let the little darlings tire themselves out.

    lol at Rorschach.

I don’t think so, most will simply look at the job like any other.
we are not a bunch of criminal rip off merchants in bike shops you know.

we had a new customer in on Saturday with a XT that wouldnt bleed up, we decided it was a warranty issue as we have had the same problem before.

He then brought his R1’s in and asked if we could fix these as they were his other brakes and were broken hence the XT’s.
so half an hour later the R1’s were fixed good as new. :)

He said “at last I’ve found a decent bike shop in the area”
made my day, Im still smiling now. And gloating a bit. :)

A good workman will excel with what they have.

Large scout for me and super pleased about it, wanted a Patrol but not missing the extra travel, its best bike ive ridden in a long time, currently running a lot of sag and get a few pedal strikes, but dont think an odd 5mm off the cranks will make much difference.
Though I do run it quite soft avout 40% sag.

This is so typical singletrack world.
A bunch of middle aged mincers moaning about bikes.

The fast lads are riding there’s lmfao.
It hasnt changed, it doesn’t matter what aspect of a bike is changed, there are always the singletrackworld officionados, moaning that it doesn’t suit them.

A poor workman always blames his tools.

our MP introduced the bill to end Brewery fixed rent deals and allow pubs to buy from outside the brewery control which is good
He also helped me organise our cross events by speaking to the council in support.

    so not bad

I don’t know anyone who has switched to 650b who hasnt got on with it and preferred it to the 26″
not journos, in fact a lot of riders rave about the size.

but then some people always blame their bikes, when the really good riders just get on with what they have.

I think that Andy Burnhams problem will be that he is a scouser.

Nowt wrong with that, however, I dont think the rest of the UK will take to him as a leader. I could be wrong, but I have a feeling that he will be a turn off for the southern middle of the road voters.

Personally I would have preferred Chuka.

Don’t start gobbing off about not fit for purpose that is just misguided nonsense.

You have a warranty issue, so I would ask Wheelies that you can take it to the concept store and agree for them to manage the warranty issues.

I would expect that to work.

we get lunch breaks too, though, the term mental busy, is how we refer to every day these days.

Our opening times are 9:30 to 5:30.
I dont think we have ever opened and closed at those times.

Though one of the lads did get in to the habit of being out the door and done at 5:30. When he was doing that we very nearly went bust.
Now we are open late and early every day/night.
We notice a lot of customers come in between six and half past.
had customers pick up race bikes at midnight when we were preparing them for an event. (They dropped them in last minute as always)

However, we dont open Sundays or Bank Holidays.
We advertise when we are closing and we get a massive rush the three weeks beforehand.

Personally I have been to bike shops on Sundays and Bank Holidays and everyone is just browsing because they are bored.
Our staff have families and ride with our customers so why have them at work away from the customers?

But customer is king as long as they are not an obnoxious t**t, then they can go to another shop. But then they will miss out on the coffe and cake and chocolates and biscuits, and pizza. (We are a bike shop btw) just the local pizza shop gives us free pizza some days at 5:30

Well, hospitals have a lot of patients going through them and you have to accept there are more urgent cases than yours.
We would all like personal service etc. But that is not what the NHS is about.
So you will have to wait until the hospital is ready for you.

your treatment sounds ok, nothing untoward or problematic, I assume they are medicating you to prevent you from being in pain.

Its not a cause of morale, money, the tories, or Thatcher.
It’s just a big organisation, and all big organisations are like this.

I have found that if I am riding well then I am pushing the front tyre in to the ground and tracking the terrain, then I have to be forwards.
bent elbows, low over the saddle and relaxed, then you can push the tyre in to the terrain where you want most grip.

Its good to go to a pump track as the riding position on a pump track equates well to the attack position.
this also gets you to use your legs a lot more.

Leave ISIS to their own devices, no point fighting them, we (the west) will start talking with them in years to come as we did the jews in Palestine.
We will establish a Islamic state, as we did Israel, and then we will trade with them.

We should just cut to the chase and get on with the negotiations, we are a spineless, greedy obnoxious bunch in the west, lets do what we do best and negotiate a trade deal.

It sickens me to look at the myself as part of a western democracy that is in this position, and I can see what we are going to do. I just hate the west for what it is

3 generations that have never worked, isnt news to me, my ex came from such a family and there were a few in the street who were all the same.

its not typical but it happens and there is a very easy lifestyle going on between the mums who are hanging out with their mums and their kids.
its a community that keeps itself to itself, but its a shame that benefits can afford such a comfortable lifestyle.

my ex was determined to break out of it.

All you can do is drill out the ferrules.

We had a poor customer in yesterday who was so pissed off with the kit, but it was simply the inner sleave that is supposed to run non stop through was too thick for the ferrules.

A typo on the order from the importer last year effectively meant the UK only got 50 of these.
The new importer, I dont think has stock sorted out.

    Sancho

Go for it, but be careful of thieves.

There is a huge market in stolen bikes in the UK.

We used to sell the odd second hang bike and were constantly hassled by thieves trying to sell clearly stolen bikes.
we managed to help get a few convictions and bikes recovered.
    But so much aggro.
Also meant a lot of bike thieves and scally types hanging round.
A great option is to buy up end of season stock and sell it cheap. just a thought.

If the shop has one in stock then great.

souunds as though the free hub is tight as much as slipping, do you get the chain going slack when not pedalling?

    Sancho
    Free Member

is it ghost shifting of dropping the chain.
is it dropping it on the front or back?
are you pedalling hard on rough terrain and losing the chain?

Are your chainring bolts tight.? Had a similar problem as steel city a few years ago.

It would create a middle class holiday retreat.

and why the f”k should we pay to visit our own countryside.

and what isnt sustainable about the countryside.

Stop trying to sustain it and let it adapt to how its being used.
And stop managing most of the uplands for grouse shooting.

    Rant over.

not wanting to argue against your points grum.

But, I didnt hear anywhere in the election any mention of the ATOS disability issue.

It wasnt raised by Labour the SNP or anyone.

maybe if it had more people would have voted differently.

Do you not read what I said.

I just acknowledged the points in the email dumb-ass.

I am pointing out to you, thet there is a lot of private sector involvement that is doing a great deal.
    but maybe you need pictures.

    Sancho

I think you are being disingenuous noteeth.

Plenty of private sector involvement doing a great deal for the NHS.

The PFI is a disaster for the NHS, and so are those in the website, but that is not the full picture.

But still no problem with private drug suppliers, how much of the budget is drugs?
