We had a great time together Sunday.
Stayed with me all day, whilst I was building a new trail & didn’t get bored and wander, off until 8:30.

Shame we cant ask one of them.

Their team probably have split times and other data.

Be interesting to know if its acceleration out of the gate, jumps, or rolling the rocks that’s slowing them down

Since the rim is moving relative to the hub.
Isn’t this liable to jam the tyre against the frame on any hard landing ?

Lateral strength is going to be interesting as well

Factor in Aaron Gwin’s famous no chain win. So leg power is out

I think its more to do with upper body strength, mass & air resistance…

Don’t even mention Courage (as a difference), those girls (and Guys) are bloody awesome

    Thank You

But I prefer “Trail Troll” since I and am usually found around a (partially built) bridge and have the appropriate appearance……..

If we had started bombing Assad… Anyone guess at a date when we would have said ” Whoopsy , my bad” and started bombing ISIS. Or would we have just started bombing both sides.

    It’s all a bit 1984 innit ?

Due to a chain of “Chinese whispers” the building manager posted a “Toilets out of Order” sign on our bogs two weeks ago.

I often go wide on BBs as I find it more comfortable with pedals further out, so doubt its that.

Is it possible it’s down to the wheel build and you just need a couple of turns of the derailleur cable adjuster to get things in line again

Failing that, have a look at your Derailleur cage and make sure they didn’t bend it ( or the hanger ) whilst it was in the shop.

If people spent more time playing sport instead of watching sport, there would be less money in TV rights and less reason to cheat..

Lets also thank god that that the Coe, Cram, Ovett world domination was done clean on good old British pluck.

Seems weird to fit a BB yourself, then get a LBS to fit a chain.

But anyway, I would bet your problem is a actually that your cogs have worn to the profile gap of your old knackered chain and you rear cluster needs replacing

I Think the points thing is a myth
A mate got a fine, but No-points, for cycling home on his Pub bike.
Proper “tired and emotional” to the point he couldn’t walk, slept most of it off on a park bench and got busted wobbling home, the next morning

    FWIW

Watching the film he is clearly in trouble well before the dive.

My guess. He lost power in the climb, used the last of his momentum to get it over and nose down. Held the dive till he got airspeed back and was trying for a belly landing in the field. Just came up short on the height and may well have made it on a cooler day.

I expect he was on the radio all the way in, so CAA have a pretty good idea, what went wrong

    From National Geographic
    http://voices.nationalgeographic.com/2015/07/21/death-of-zimbabwes-best-loved-lion-ignites-debate-on-sport-hunting/

A source familiar with the situation, who wishes to remain unnamed, says big cats may be lured out of protected areas into hunting concessions with bait. It “indicates to me a level of desperation by the hunting operators. No big male lions remain in their hunting concession areas, despite their claims of ‘sustainable’ hunting practices,” the source added.

Bryan Orford, a professional wildlife guide who worked in Hwange and filmed Cecil many times, says the lion was the park’s “biggest tourist attraction. Not only a natural loss, but a financial loss.” Orford calculates that with tourists from just one nearby lodge collectively paying U.S. $9,800 per day, Zimbabwe would have brought in more in just five days by having Cecil’s photograph taken rather than being shot by someone paying a one-off fee of U.S. $45,000 with no hope of future revenue.

I was around for the last BBC micro and FWIW I think the BBC should butt out now (as they should have then).
If this is really a different market segment then let Raspberry fill it with an appropriate new model.

Raspberry is generating a huge up-swell in hobby coding unseen since my Sinclair fanboi days. Why cut that fan-base and all of the online forums & help sources in half.

This is not a hardware war (Playstation vs Xbox or 26″vs 29″). Its more like choosing Spanish vs Esperanto and then spending the next 3 years of your life learning it

Bend the pin 90deg to get right into the thread.

Also concentrate on getting absolutely straight with the puller. Its far to easy to let your eye-line be drawn into looking at the crank arm angle

    Its like evolution innit

Probably loads of times through the millennium that a species started crawling out of the ocean for a bit, but got hot and crawled back, before one stuck at it.

Me and my mates back were taking racing bike frames and adding moped forks and wheels back in the seventies. But when we stopped ( & got MX-bikes), it stopped, locally.

MTBing has a unbroken line all the way back to those guys in California and Im kind of glad its that way.

P.S. Honda C90 leading link front forks actually rise ( rather than diving ) when braking & that idea needs bringing into MTBing

Maybe useful to know that using “Mid” on the difference between your number and a “Find” (starting from your number) on the next occurrence of SPACE will pull those found words out for you.

But thats probably where you are going with this anyway

If anyone has been using the path for a while, then filling out one of these may help…

    Hi,
First I have to admit I am not a mountain biker – sorry – but I do run in Broxbourne Woods and have had problems with paths being closed round there. I wanted to share the details of this meeting which is being held to try to open up one of the footpaths that they are blocking. Am having to type details as I can’t add a photo of the poster to this post.

    PUBLIC MEETING

    Friday June 12th at 7:30pm

    Brickendon Parish Hall, Fanshaws Room
    Brickendon Green, SG13 8PB

Have you ever walked, cycled or ridden a horse along the track known as the Monks Way in Broxbourne Woods (the cross road at the top of Sticky Hill/Ermine Street to Broxbourne Woods)?

Are you upset that this track has now been closed for public access by Gascoyne Cecil Estates?

Urgent action is needed to claim this route as a public right of way before it is too late. Please come and fill out an evidence form.

Enquiries to: Alison Balfour-Lynn BHS Regional Access & Bridleways Officer
    abalfourlynn@sky.com
    07778 517486

I believe that she can also email you the form to fill in if you cannot make the meeting.

I hope this helps. Please contact me if you would like a copy of the poster and please feel free to share these details. 🙂

    Tracey

PS Apparently complaints have been filed against the bushcraft people for not having planning permission to use the land in this way. Whether this will come to anything I don’t know.
