Fairlight is probably 50% the cost of an equivalent UK custome built frame. (Looking at feather, lord etc)

And the R plus T geometry options can see the added cost of all those extra sku’s ….

Yep, where are these available in the UK? Don’t think manitou even have a distributor at the moment?

More specific, Di2 groupset installation on an internally routed frame (Road bike in this case….)

    Thanks will look soanes up…

Chaz was gold standard so just trying to find similar!

Discount is on the wholesale cost so guessing bulb are adding non-energy costs ontop?

Those on a fix will have had their energy bought and hedged by their supplier, who could sell that volume back to market at current prices and benefit…

A Mason resolution or a fairlight, good steel options!

Go for a 5 or a 9, I think the 7 is android based which limits battery life – I get a couple weeks battery out of my 9 while using it for 6 hours if cycling a week…

Look for something with a gtt dwr (black diamond or marmot) never needs reproofing and performs so much better.

On the racy end of the spectrum (stack and reach a tad lower), but di2 ultegra sub £4k…

Mason resolution? Steel but similar tyre width capacity? Fairlight strael? Both similar geometry and intent to the colbri?

Chater Lee would be in that sort of style, square taper super shiny!

I think the road aldul carbon is the same as the kaptic, but gives you the option of oval rings (which you can adjust).

Have just gone SRAM etap else I would have a set inbound.

How about a rotor carbon? Can use hope bb for reliability, have found the praxis BB non drive side bearing go on mine Evey 3 months….

Pacenti Forza on 32 spokes? Think they let you specify spoke count when ordering…

DT 240 exp hubs currently have an engagement issue (those with a 0 in the serial). 350 is the old double ratchet and no such issues…

Something from Pacenti? Can spec hubs and spokes, plus they have some good UK wheel builders?

I should hopefully have a 9a build and ride report to contribute in the next couple weeks, have a ccdb air for the rear rather than a fox or rockshox option, and Formula Selva forks. Hopeing the double barrel plays nice with the leverage curve (has come tuned from j-tech so should be in the right region)

Coming off a 2014 Knolly warden excited to try a modern 29er!

Ah the hubs themselves would have to be used with an ezp ratchet. The freehubs can be swapped…

Are you using an old one on an exp hub? The ratchet/ spring and red washer would need to be used. If the other way round both ratchets and springs.

I have swapped freehubs between 240 exp and 350 without issue, it’s not officially supported (there is an additional spacer over the bearing on a exp) but ran ok for me…

Hopefully get a ride in May, really depends how long the hope e4’s take to arrive!

I have gone with a 140mm fork initially, but can alway adjust to 150mm (formula Selva R). Have some 170mm cranks, but being 6’4″ don’t think I would want to go shorter

Just have to wait for brakes and wheels to build it up!

Interesting notes about the progressive rear end, I’m building up a 9a and have a cane creek double barrel air to pop on – think I will be taking out the volume spacer of I encounter any issues…

Dt-350 on a xc rim and sapim d-lite spokes would be sub £500, light and solid.

They do look to build up chunky, I think the spitfire would be the only one that could get below 30 lbs without a ton of pennies.

I have just been through a similar journey…

Was on a set of erase hubs, but the sealing is poor and the bearings not so great (enduro)

Now on a DT 240 rear/ hope rs4 front, I do have fairly extreme usage though (3 miles of wet sandy seafront to contend with before hitting the exe estuary)

Also have a set of DT 350 which have survived trouble free for a couple years.

Sonder cortex with a nice cane creek build?

I guess 30 lbs is a bit of an aspiration, but thinking a xt/ slx build with Mattocs and pacenti pi30 wheels, plus 800gm ish trail friendly tyres will get me close…

I’m an XL, kind of disappointed about that lack of choice, especially as 650b was still a new thing back in 2016!

The Banshee backup and support warranty does sound good, transition seem to be quite heavy? Has been 6 years since I have put together a MTB so catching up with all the new geometry, definitely want a sub 30 lbs build …

    samsmedium

Think I’m leaning towards the Banshee, especially being that o can run a 142mm rear end…

Has anyone tried a new shape Octavia hatchback, without the seats down? I’m hoping it will manage with the wheels off? (For stealth city bike storage)

How about a Knolly warden, drivetrain from your 5; frame fork and wheels should be in budget!
