I bought an On-One Big Dog with one recently and have now had a few rides on it. 29er, currently set with 130mm travel.
First ride, it was pretty terrible. I hadn’t set it up at that stage and once I had set the upper and lower pressure and the rebound per MRP’s recommendation it was much, much better. I can’t compare it to a recent Pike or Revelation, but my experience largely fits with this review:

Are you looking for a group, or does that get more complicated?
I’m just down the road from Disley in New Mills, so if you want a small group, I may be able to tag along. I’m pretty handy at navigating, but just getting back into riding after a break, so a little rusty.

He’s happy with it and his mum can’t keep up with him any more, so although it is not the lightest, it doesn’t slow him down too much. Plenty of scope to updgrade bits from the old parts bin too.
