Ha ha, just! Well done anyone who didn’t crash today!

Well that was harder than I expected!! Crashed twice on stage 1, and over the bars on stage 4.
Stage 2 was brutal in the mud, but still great fun. Don’t think I had a clean run on any stage, so happy with a time of 11.17.
According to my strava I’ve done 35 miles, ( went a bit wrong on the practice loop) and about 6000ft of climbing today!!! Tired now :D
Great event again, thanks to all marshals and organisers.

Cool cheers Simon, love that stage 5 section through the woods, they used it at the first pmba in grizedale a couple of years ago.

So where’s stage 1 and 5 then? I’ve been pondering which trails we’re racing on all week!

Didn’t enter as I thought we were busy this weekend. Turns out we’re not

Lad I’m riding with only entered yesterday lunch time, so you might still get an entry.
High roller 2s for me, only tyre worth having in the lakes imo.

I’ll be there, also with a first time racer under my wing.
From the rider info released this week I reckon we’re heading over towards dale park, and using stage 5 of the last ukge round. Not ridden it myself yet, but supposed to be interesting in the wet!
Really looking forward to this race, wet or dry.

Maxxis high roller 2, is the one you want, if you can get hold of them!
Cracking tyres, for grip and sidewall strength.
For extra grip go for the 3c version, but it won’t last very long, mine was knackard after 3 months of lakes riding, so now have the 60a.

Cracking weekend, really enjoyed it, thanks to all marshals and volunteers.
Stage 5 was just so much fun, I wanted to go back up for another go!
    Heres my times,

    S1 5.27
    S2 2.57
    S3 4.10
    S4 3.38
    S5 2.28
    Total 18.41

Now sat at home aching legs, with some dodgy chafing, enjoying a loweswater gold! :D

Well that was a great weekend! Stage 5 my fave, closely followed by 2.
Some tough climbs, but worth it for the descents.
Thought it was a really well run event, so thanks to the organisers and marshals for making it all happen.

Preston north end for me, looking forward to being back in the championship this season. No real big signings this summer apart from a couple of payers we had on loan last year.
Happy with a mid table finish, as Simon Grayson’s past record in this league is patchy.
Home to Middlesbrough on Sunday, but ill miss it, as riding the ard rock.

I will keep an eye out for it when I am there, I’ve ridden the trail centre at Grizedale twice and I never really enjoy it, I have come across this loop though and it passes just down the road from the house we are staying in.

You’re really spoilt for choice riding from hawkshead. Best thing to do is buy an os map and link all the bridleways together. There’s not really a bad one in that area. Favourites of mine are anything in claife heights, high arnside and iron keld, and all the BW’s in grizedale are worth a go.

9.10 for me and two mates. First time for all of us at the ard Rock, so looking forward to it.
As long as I keep my distance from the beer tent, 9.10 is a good start time for us!

Nah, no barriers it’s open 24/7. If you use the parking bays at the back of the car park behind wheelbase, you’ll be ok.

Aye to be honest I wasn’t to keen on them either , but stuck a cheepo one in and it’s not been a problem. Had no issues at all.

You should be ok, it’s not exactly the Bronx! Maybe have a word with wheelbase and let them know your cars going to be left there for a couple of days.

Quite enjoying Chet Faker on the red button now. Not a clue who he is though!

I bought frame, monarch plus shock, reverb, pilkes and a headset.
Mounting hardware all included and ready to fit to the frame.
As for the tune, my shock has a blue L and a red M on it. No idea what that means, but I do know it works really well.
The communication with Commencal, is at best, piss poor!! They sent me the wrong reverb, and it’s still not been sorted, I ordered it in February!!

Thanks for the replies everyone, and Thanks for the links CG, already looked through a couple of stories, not many people happy after removal!
The thing I’m struggling to get my head around, is getting rid of my thyroid and not doing something for the graves, which is causing the problem in the first place!
I Had 18 months on carbimazole 3 years ago, and it worked. My t4 and t3 were great for a year, but now my t4 is back up , so I’m back on the carbazole.
I’m thinking something must have triggered it, but not sure what!
Seeing the endo every 6 weeks, he seems decent, but is pushing for surgery, radioactive iodine is really an option, as I have three young kids.

Aye that’s them, with my dad to the left, ( the bloke with the starting hooter). Me and my wife are behind the two blokes on the right.
Oh and I recognise the speedy youth in blue, behind my boys.

Not us rich, think you passed us at the bottom of the longsledale descent. And there was four of us, the two boys, my wife and myself. Kids were were wearing Preston football kits with our name on the back.

We got round the short course in 3 hours 58 mins, which is a great time considering our 7 year old was on 20″ wheels!
The longest ride our two boys have done, and they enjoyed every minute.
A few pilocks passing without notice, nearly causing accidents, but mostly everyone was very supportive of the kids having a go.

I hope so rich, we’ve never had a wet one yet, and I don’t want tommorow to be the first. A little cloud cover to keep the temps down a bit would be perfect.

I’m in again this year, but this time with the kids!!!
It’s gonna be a long afternoon, even on the short course.
11.55 start for us, if we’re back for when the seals start playing, I’ll be happy!!

Buy one, you won’t regret it. Unless there’s a problem, as customer service/after sales is piss poor!!

Damson dene hotel 4 miles south of Bowness take dogs. Not exactly close to buttermere though, but decent food, and some great local pubs nearby for ale.

Odd years and I’ll be in Oban, on holiday!!
Hope it’s a great day for you crispo, and we get the play off hoodo Broken once and for all.

I ordered mine in February, and it arrived towards the end of March. I also used the a la carte option, with pikes, and monarch plus shock. Buying this way is great imo, as I could use hope hoops and brakes, and my existing drive train. I now have the bike just as I want it, for about £2400.
Their is an issue with the reverb, in they sent me the wrong one, and it’s still not been sorted out! Their communication is poor, as is after sales service.
A real shame, as the bike is excellent!
I think it’s worth the risk, buying direct, as the price is great. And it is a superb bike for the riding I do, which is 2 or 3 hour loops in the lakes.
Here’s me looking all enduro on mine at grizedale pmba rd 2

Aye, great stages today, really enjoyed racing them, although quite slowly!
So glad I’m now using tubeless having seen the puncture carnage on stage 2.
Another cracking event from the pmba crew.
Results and pictures are now up on roots and rain website.

Hi paul, it was from the shop at windermere station. Lakeland leisure. me and a few mstes rode for JB, who Used to own the shop.
They did have some issues with cracking, but they were great bikes to ride. We raced them for about three years in the early nineties.
