The orange bikes owner is also a very keen sailor. for anyone who knows about sailing, he has a 49er on windermere and apparently sails it exceedingly well.

hockey, dinghy sailing and cricket are my others. Nice variety IMO

i have 720mm funn bars with 60mm rise, but i might go for something a bit lower. definitely notice the difference between that and 600mm bars and lovinmg it.

i found the red a bit of a disappointment, i sort of expected something more but it never delivered. will do the black next time though.

yep, i had a great ride yesterday :) only 10 miles, but it was bloody cold in the peaks yesterday. Being able to see my breath was not what i had planned for the end of may to be honest bu it was good fun.

Glen nevis is a ride away on most bikes, but it does depend what bike. great facilities and loads of space, but it does get boggy when it rains a lot.

Whaley bridge :) 6 pubs, all within walking distance of anywhere and a good lbs. only problem is not on the sheffield line, only on the buxton one.

if he can find a C2W shop with a merida matts 50-D, i can heartily reccomend it, hydraulic discs and x-5 drivetrain. geometry perfect for most stuff. im 6ft and ride a medium, so he would probably be a large. and as its at the lower end of his budget, more to spend on upgrading it ;)
