That's what a pootle is anyway, and usually a wait at the top aswell :)

I know you have chosen a bike but i have another suggestion= scott Genius? I loved my demo, but it made me feel sad because i know i can't have one :( Geetee1972, that ride may well be invitation only, and fair enough, but it could also turn into a non-Pook Peak Pootle? Just a suggestion :)

I saw it was a P7, but wondering about battery life, how good the bracket is etc….

It will all be very, very, very wet. The stuff around edale seems to cope better with heavy rain than Ladybower routes if that helps.

Seeing my brother run and jump into a sliding glass door, he had completely forgotten it was there. He bounced a fair distance off it aswell

    Michael Parkinson! :D
    Martin Johnson
    Kate Bush
    Steve Rider
All of the above, i have met in Salcombe
Steve Peat held the hotel door open for me at the Fort William 2006 world cup, seemed very nice.
Rachel Atherton was on the table next to us at Coed-y-Brenin in July
I also see Nick Craig fairly often, either at fell races or out on his bike.

Cheers everyone, we just got back but didn't do it in the end as we didn't have enough time. Next time though eh?

Hora, i have at least an hour of hockey everyday, and im generally sleepy during the week anyway. Weekends are either riding, hockey ( :) ) or coursework :(

I Landed on my face doing a forward somersault on a trampoline, that hurt. A lot.

I do most of my riding in a group, as im usually busy or knackered during the week. I prefer riding in a group anyway, chasing each other downhill and banter on the way up. Peak pootles are great, but that 7 hour epic was a bit too long for my liking.

It is pretty good, the sort of trail you can blast round without too much thought, and the pump track is awesome!

Shimano AM40's. Quite possibly the best flat pedal shoe around. Definitely worht it if you stick with flats, mine would look good as new if i washed them. and thats after 9 months…

funky nick, go and get your knitting needles now. You should watch them go down a hill like ben nevis, the record downhill is something like 25 mins!!!!

Rossendale, best fell club? Pah…. ;) I once overtook nick craig going downhill………He was running though :(

I prefer flats, but i am seeing more and more benefits with SPD's. Noticably more powerful.

Some are really quick, eg. Up ben nevis and back down sub 1:40 8O So dont be too embarrassed. What would be embarrassing would be to get overtaken DOWNHILL by a fell runner.

i know about the midges :( last year they all drowned, in 3 days we had 4 hours of dry weather, the rest of the time it chucked it down :(

It's a Merida 50-D with 70degree head angle, so nothing like a summer season. I'm okay bike handling wise, but sounds like a hire bike might be a better option?

Not really, My short sleeve jersey is a Falke or adidas running t-shirt and my long sleeve jersey is a Specialized s-works team jersey, so neither very thick. These are on my to buy list aswell, seem stupidly good value

I usually wear a long sleeve baselayer, short sleeve jersey, long sleeve fleecey jersey and jacket if it's raining, good balance with that combo. normally baggies with 3/4 tights underneath for my lower half.

Shimano AM40's. Awesomely grippy, super comfy and the flap over the laces keeps the crud out.

Ahh thanks for that. I take it people just turn up, no booking or anything? It's a long way to go from Whaley Bridge to find nothing. Although im sure most people go from further.

Anyone seen the multi-coloured one at Llandegla? rims, frame, swingarm and pedals all diffenrent neon colours. A bit OTT for me though…

I demo'ed a scale 20 and it was super quick, but not too steep. off drops it felt really smooth but still really stiff on climbs. I think the frames are the same, go for it :)
