I’d carry on riding that, possibly repair the resin but I wouldn’t stress about it. Check back periodically or if it starts making any unusual noises.

203 front 180 rear on SLX brakes, 80kg on a 120mm 29er. Upped the rotor size for the Alps and now wouldn’t change back, I’ve definitely got used to getting away with braking late.

I dropped the pressure and increased the LSC on mine when they felt too hard, seemed to do the trick

Pikes. Mine are a mile better than the revs I had on before, not found any downsides to them yet.

My shock definitely doesn’t lock in C, but does pedal better than T or D. Try adjusting the T setting with the black adjuster between the blue lever to increase the amount of compression damping in T mode. I’ve got mine on 2 as it blew through it’s travel as much as Descend mode when on 1.

Could I have some photos of the Codeine to the address in my profile?

Ride lots of bikes, some with big wheels and some with slightly smaller wheels, and buy the one that makes you smile the most.

Got a pair of Mavic crossmax that I’m yet to actually ride in but they seem to suit my narrow feet well and have a very grippy sole for hikeabiking.

Specialized Butchers are really good, found them perfect for North Wales. Sidewalls aren’t that tough though, so might be worth getting the Grid casing.

Beehive portions are pretty big too. That’s not to say that the food is of a lesser quality, it’s still tasty. No burgers on the menu when I was last there mind.

The Paper Mill opposite the Old Hall is owned by the same people, but focusing less on food and more on ales.

Sultan I reckon, although both would be fun I’m sure.

I’m working it too doing general basecamp stuff, in the Pyrenees for a week beforehand (riding pretty carefully as to avoid breaking myself) then heading to Morzine afterwards. I’m planning on setting a world record for taking down + folding up a pop-up tent by the end of the week.

I’m taking a 120mm 29er with 140mm Pikes and some tough wheels, expecting to get pretty battered but at least the braking bumps will be slightly less harsh!

I liked the Captain I had on my old Specialized, rolled well but had plenty of climbing grip. If it’s not muddy, a Slaughter would be good, minimal centre tread but with big shoulders.

Sat at home in Whaley Bridge now and you’re a braver man than me, it’s chuffing horrible out there.

Cheers for all the help, they look like just the ticket! We’ll be on trail bikes so those trail centres look good. had already considered the Harz mountains after a recommendation from a friend but it’s good to see another recommendation.

Tour du Mont Blanc is definitely recommended by me oliverracing, starting in Chamonix and doing it clockwise. We did it supported over five days with MBMB so didn’t have much kit to carry, which definitely made it more enjoyable, but I’m sure you’d have a good time anyway.

A week in the Pyrenees, then working on the Trans-Provence race followed two weeks in Morzine. Then 3 weeks of riding where ever we feel like, probably Lake Garda for a few days and after than I have no idea!

Nice one! I reckon Sam is a pretty good name but I’m a bit biased. That and I was struggling to find a word that continued the rhyming theme…

Also looks like the successful applicants would still have to pay 3300 euros

In contrast to Chambord, I’ve found my Teva Links very grippy. I would happily buy another pair to keep in stock for when this pair dies, although I’m not sure they ever will.

    Apologies for poor quality photo

Will do :) Happy to do the same for North Wales if you fancy a steepy steep midweek jaunt.

Sounds good, cheers Stu! Was just checking to make sure they were no narrower than my current rims, I won’t notice the width difference but the strength difference will be appreciated when I go through rocks too fast.

Possibly, what internal width and hole count?

Mainly because I’m an extremely poor student saving up for two months in Europe Singlespeedstu, and I like the idea of a rim I might be able to straighten the ding out of rather than cracking it. Having said that, if there’s a cheap wide strong carbon rim I’d consider it. I might be asking for the moon on a stick there though.

Any idea whether I’d be able to take the decals off? Hoping they’re just simple stickers rather than transferred on :)

I really like the Butchers on my Horsethief, seem to roll very well for a grippy tyre.

Montane Prism gets good reviews, seems ideal for UK bivvying. Comfort limit is 0 mind, so might not be quite warm enough for what you want.

I’ve got a 32t chainring and a 36t cassette on my 29er and haven’t yet struggled in North Wales, although I’ve ridden very little recently so that may well change.

I’ve got a KS i900 that I bought for £75 in January of 2013, I’ve not serviced it and ridden it in some very unpleasant conditions and it still works fine :) Never even had to put air in it,.

It’s happened in road cycling, but yeah, I’ve never heard of it happening in DH.

My Horsethief is ridiculously grippy up hills, no noticeable bob whilst seated either. Shame my legs and lungs aren’t as good really.
