18 Bikes have a Bandit if you’ve not found a demo and haven’t decided on a Five. Can you keep it for a month then sell it to me for much cheapness?

Definitely a good idea, probably as much if not more so than on a bike, particularly skiing on hard pistes, due to the high chance someone will run into the back of you.

Can’t see the point in a new car when You can get one for half the price after 3 years. FWIW, our Audi 1995 A6 has done a pretty incredible 288,000 miles, absolute bargain.

Ikea do a similar thing, I’d imagine they’re probably less than a quarter of the price though.

Snowing on the edge of the Peak District, fairly wet small flakes though, not big fluffy stuff yet. Forecast to get colder and continue through the night though.

You live near the sea(ish), just get a boat ;)

Madison Tempest 3/4s = Not 3/4s, come down to my knee. Taped seams split after 6 rides, inner separated from outer in 7 rides. Utter crap. Now have Enudra Superlites and they’ve been brilliant.

Funkier bibshorts, absolutely brilliant. 6 days riding in the Alps with no issues.
Endura Superlite shorts, fantastic for keeping my arse dry.

Not read that but I did get “Sky’s The Limit” and it’s very good, particularly if you’re interested in sports psychology / Sports economics. Sounds like you’d like it Wukfit.

Where abouts in Macc? I walk from the bus station towards Tytherington everyday so will let you know if I see anything. I’d have a scope around the Moss and Weston estates, maybe Hurdsfield too.

I’d guess at about £1650, could be well off though. If the frame’s a large and you’d be willing to split I could be interested.

Might seem like a stupid question, but I assume you’ve undone the bolt as much as possible?

I’d say it depends on what you want to do on it. If you fancy crossing some OS maps, go XL, if it’s for playing in the woods and shorter rides, go L.

CyB isn’t too far from Penmachno either, or Antur Stiniog if they’ve got space aand you fancy some gravity riding.

I only have a competitive gene when I’m winning, so almost all of my rides are just for fun.

had an emergency gel in my pack, didn’t need any food though. Having said that, it wouldn’t have stopped me eating yours if they’d been offered, or throwing them on the floor, depending on how tired I was.

We’ll be selling our 1995 Audi A6 1.9TDi at some point in the not too distant future, Depends how tall you are but it’s not quite long enough for me to sleep comfortably at 6’2″. Will do 800 miles on a tank, does about 40mpg with a boat on the roof and a boat behind. You’d probably want a car before we sell ours, but I’d highly recommend one. Ours has done 285k miles, 200k on the current engine. Will fit my Large specialized in the boot without folding the seats down (wheels off obviously). TBH if i was going to get something to sleep in for a week I’d get a van, I think I’d get fed up of the lack of space to move around, but I’m lanky and clumsy so you may well differ.

emac65, that’s why I said normally. I’ve not noticed a 29er being any worse than my 26 at anything, but better in quite a few areas, hence why I’ll probably get one.

My Shimano SLX BB lasted 18 months before it needed replacing, which i thought was pretty good for the money. Admittedly only about 15 miles a week, although that is in the Peak District, which eats bearings.

My next bike will almost certainly be a 29er, because the trails I ride the most suit them and they fit me better than a 26″. Were you out on your road bike near Hope yesterday Dan?

My XT cassette came with a spacer to go in the middle of the cassette somewhere, can’t remember exactly.

    Macc Forest Carlos?

He’s 56 in a couple of weeks, and a fell runner, so the age thing isn’t really of any significance. He says he’s not as keen on the EPS as a 100, but they’re SO much cheaper.

Cheers all. Don’t want to risk it being too big, so I’ll leave it for now. Horsethief at Charlie the Bike Monger’s is looking increasingly tempting though.

    sambob

Prohibitively expensive, I’d need new wheels and forks, meaning it’d cost north of £1500.
Having said that, I had considered a Horsethief.
