Was on a Specialized FSR XC Comp, which was good, but a bit on the small side.
Can’t see the price dropping any further RD, they’re already £800. Not many left as far as I know.
Weight is approx 13.9kg on my luggage scales, without thinking about it, which I’m happy with. Might get a Nobby Nic/ Racing Ralph SS for “summer” though.
Incredibly dry on my short ride in the Peaks. May well be that the ground is frozen, as the puddles were iced over, but I finished the ride remarkably clean.
It’s fanbloodytastic. Perfect fit, tyres don’t seem overly draggy, may change when I put the front tubeless but I can live with that for the amount of grip it gives.
Between 120 and 140. Came with a spacer in the box (OEM from CRC) which makes me think there may well be a spacer in there. I’m almost scared about how fast it’ll be, might check my brakes again in the morning 8O
Finished :D Looks great in my (clearly impartial) opinion. Not ridden yet but going for a ride tomorrow. What say you STW?
Apologies for poor quality kitchen photo:
350, but they’ll be out as a Hope Hoop very shortly so I’d wait for them. Getting them from 18 Bikes gets you free tubeless tape and valves too if you’re that way inclined.
Good point Spin, some of the descents are pretty tough with a BIG penalty if you get it wrong. Lots of exposed trails, one of which I managed to fall off
I did it with MBMB, was brilliant, despite awful weather on the last two days. MBMB have stopped the 3 countries tour now though, Phil wants to play golf instead ;) Brilliant place for B+B though if you’re in Chamonix for any reason.
I wanted a FS 29er something that’d take a beating should the need arise, and the frames are old stock so going relatively cheaply.
Or do you mean why did I buy it even though it looks weird? Look alright in the flesh, just weird in that photo.
I should start going again really. Agreed on needing a good instructor, one of the one’s I’ve had was brilliant, was was less good. Struggle to walk to the car after a good one.
