Ordered some grips from Winstanleys on Monday, £8 cheaper than anywhere else (Troy Lee ODI) with free postage, arrived today.

The one up towards Llyn Ogwen from Capel is nice enough, loads of midges though in June.

Only issue with cranks that I’ve seen has been the inserts coming loose, which has been a problem for a fair number of carbon cranks. If they’re legit I wouldn’t worry.

Why would anyone make a 30.9 dropper post if there weren’t any frames to put them in?

Hope Pro2 on Stans Crest Rims or Arch EX if you’ll be riding particularly rocky stuff.

I don’t, generally. Will go out if I’ve arranged to ride with others though.

Mate tried to pay for his lunch in the Sainsbury’s self checkout with a £50 note, but it wouldn’t take it. Nightmare.

Change your registration plates? Can’t offer any more than that.

Chunky Monkey gives silly amounts of grip, which means I’m really going to hurt my self when I run out…

As above, 105 PS. Will consider the 1.9, as there’s naff all difference in insurance costs, although running costs may be slightly more.

Parents car DD23, strange that I can’t get insured on it, as I can get insured on a 1.9 Octavia. Cheers Rachel, we’ll be using a towbar rack though so shouldn’t need the roof bars, will probably need a roof rack for putting the boat on though.
Cheers all, sounds like a winner. Agreed on the amount of car for my age too, many bike trips are in the pipeline. 2 month wait for my driving test is frustrating mind.

Norco’s probably a bit more sturdy.

I thought everyone on STW had an Audi or a Skoda?

Doubt it, Octavia’s the only estate I can get insured on though at 17 :(

Get a cat or two. All the rats around here have disappeared. Although there has been some collateral, the cats seem to catch a helluva lot of shrews and voles.

Did 10 miles with 2000ft of climb to collect something, via some very frozen trails above Hayfield.

As expected. Had a lie in, had some lunch, rode my bike. All good.

Absolutely love our Springer, his odd traits just make him more lovable. No sense of self preservation though, he’ll jump off/over/through pretty much anything.

I’d feel vulnerable driving the A6, never mind riding it.

Whaley Bridge is awesome. Very easy to get the train into Manchester, and a short drive/ride to Chinley and you can get the train to Sheffield in 45 minutes.

I love mine on my 29er, run tubeless. Very very grippy, Chunky Monkey is a bit draggy on the front though. I can’t be bothered swapping to anything faster until everything dries out a bit though.

My Kashima CTD shock is very very good over small bumps, much better than my X-Fusion shock was. Can’t compare to non Kashima Fox shocks, but it’s awesome.

Salsa Horsethief gets my recommendation, I love mine. Could get one with a CCDB and some nice forks for that much too, once you’ve sold the Fox Shock.
Transition Bandit/Covert come well recommended too.

What do you want? Tough AM frame or a light XC race frame?

Never enjoyed Llandegla as much as I did on Tuesday, got to be up there. And the burgers really are incredible. Coed-y-Brenin was awesome last time I went, would love to go back now I’m a better rider and have a better bike.

Went to Llandegla, got lost, then had an awesome ride on the black loop, first time I’ve ever done the black. Then handed in a full face at the shop.

I went to Llandegla today, got lost on the way, almost ran out of fuel then had an absolute ball all the way round, the climbs didn’t even feel hard. You missed out on Saturday btw, HTN was awesome. Any sign of MiniPook yet?

My Salsa feels quite heavy during the heft test, but really does ride quite light, may sound like a loada bull but it’s true.
