Seven miles there and back, dodging dog walkers on the boring sustrans bike motorway, or nineish miles of proper trail, guess which I prefer!

    It’s only a bike?
If that’s your attitude then you’re clearly riding the wrong bike on the wrong trails!
Personally I’ve got a bit of an emotional attachment to mine, we’ve shared some good times…. I’m sure a lot of riders on here have similar bonds with their mounts. That’s what these thieving scroats don’t grasp…
As for punishment? Community service in a chain gang repairing braking bumps at trail centres?

Vans gravel FTW… Had a set of freeriders, awesome grip but as mentioned, all the water proofing aof a sieve, the vans have they’re own take on the sticky rubber sole which is nice and grippy and they’re a lot stiffer than 5:10s which I find better for pedalling.

I’ve always fancied another Ericsson t-28, had one back in the day, lovely little bit of design, flip to answer and TETRIS!

DMR vaults and vans gravel (with vans take on the sticky sole) or 5:10 freeriders, the vans are a bit more hard wearing than the 5:10s but still stick like the proverbial to a blanket.

I once consumed a full watermelon and a bottle of Havana Club at the same time, bad idea, the melon seemed to absorb the rum so I was quite a pleasant chap until I started digesting the melon and was hit by a massive wave of paralytic, speach slurring, debilitating drunkardness… Fun times…

I used a piece of small diameter plumbing pipe and a large keyring as I didn’t have any used lock-ons hanging around and I’m suffering from a black zip-tie drought at the moment.
Only had time for a quick trip round the block, but it seems to reduce slap while airing speed humps…

+1 for the monster truck justice option!

But seriously O.P. get a solicitor to rinse the van driver for everything you can and harrass the police to pursue prosecuting him and getting him banned. The passivist (lazy) approach leaves him thinking he’s perfectly in the right driving like a d ckhead and then assaulting other road users for pointing it out..

Nice bodging, does the rubber grip allow the chain to slide nicely without any unwanted drag, maybe an old lock on grip with a plastic inner or even a bit of scrap polypropylene pipe with a suitable I.D. would improve performance further?

I’m liking the vaults I’m running, as mentioned big and thin, nice concave foot bed. Make sure you tighten or preferably loc-tite the pins though as they’re not so tight out of the factory….

I ride a 1st gen blue pig with the same vanilla 130 fork, great frame but if anything it could do with another 10-20mm up front, if I were buying now I’d be tempted by a piglet to suit the travel of the fork more…
Anyone wanna offer me a cheap set of 150 floats…

Cheers Didn’t do the packaging, dreamt up the butchers apron blue and white stripes aesthetic and it works nicely..
I’m not actually a graphic designer, my degree is actually BSc Eng Product Design, but the stainless steel fabrication business I work for has a printing business as a sister company so when things are quiet on the drawing large bits of metal side of things I get to play on illustrator.
Anyone got a job for a skilled engineering design graduate with great SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Illustrator and Photoshop abilities, and a passion for problem solving and black pudding?

Haha! I designed the big bangers company’s business cards and menus for him!
    Not tried their pud though..
Being from bury is have to say BURY black pudding, warm from the stall on the market with some vinegar on it, I think my friend’s mum owns the stall, and the muffin one (oven bottom)

Is it me or the photo or does the right hand seat stay on that Curtis xc9 look longer than the left? Also seems to bend higher? Not that I can judge, the seat stays on my course built self brazed frame were ever so slightly out…

I run 11-28 as its as big as you can go with the roadie mech I’m running, with a 34 up front, bit narrow ratio wise but I get away with it for local and trail centre stuff…. Wouldnt mind 11-34 with a 36 up front but that’d mean actually spending money of which I have none.

Unfortunately as part of my demeaning part time job I have to ask people if they have their own bags if they want help packing, if they have a clubcard and if they are collecting whatever daft vouchers we’re giving out (at the moment two lots) its annoying but its part of the job.
The other day I asked a customer if they were collecting the knife vouchers, half listening they replied “oh are they for schools?” I just said yeah and gave them ’em…
I feel sorry for the people in W H Smith’s who have to blag every customer about dairymilk for a quid or whatever.

And yeah I have asked customers out on dates before now, so you’re just not going to the right checkout Project!…..
