    Hi

Try listening to the Greg Bennett podcast be with champions episode 50 Dr Tommy Wood (there are 2 shows with him in)he reversed his step brothers MS and also mentions a doctor in America who went from a wheelchair through MS to cycling to work. A lot of hard work through reducing exposure to various things, diet and auto immune system.

It may give you hope there are avenues to follow.

I just ran Zwift on my mobile for 6 mins it used 5.3MB so I assume 55Mbph is as predicted by Zwift, although I wasn’t riding just static with others passing me

It’s more a case of loading the route so I can count down the hills and see what’s coming up next.

I have a 21 diverge just built up using 2×12 SRAM Force gravel set, run 43/30 and 10=36 on the back. Thought long and hard about 1x but decide 2x gives greater flexibility as it’s for gravel and winter runs. The short ride I have had says bang on just what I wanted.

Garrigill to Knock passing the radar station is doable, the track by the river on the way up is washed out in places. Both ways possible, popular tarmac climb from the west.

High Cup Nick is possible, there is a track round the back of Cow Green to the Harwood to Alston road

    All local routes for me

    1. Have done it, Rideable from Holwick until you over look the Tees, descent is a leg breaker as lots of holes hidden between rocks. Not rideable. Bridleway along side Tees to Maize Beck is non existent, we waded the Tees and hikeabiked up Cauldron Snout

    2. Yes, easy to go off track near the start, bits of walk near start, walk down last 100 yards through Holwick Clints

3 Never again, a very long walk

    4. Both thin on ground, personally would take the right one, then up the estate road to meet the direct route over to Baldersdale

    5. ??

    6. Yes prefer East to West

Try NFU, they will customise a policy for you, which we have, again because of outbuildings and bikes. Not cheap but peace of mind, all covered away from home as well, including accidental damage

Crickles is run by a heart surgeon in the SEast, along with an IT person, the data is used to determine the heart and its responses in regard to exercise, there is an optional survey. The data has changed over the years as they continually refine it.

If you have further questions of them, give them an email they will reply to your questions they are very obliging with emails. It’s probably my main site for heart and tiredness etc along with HRV4.

Try Crickles Navigator, that will calculate your HR zones and max hr, plus ftp if you have power available. It also shows fatigue and fitness, it was developed by a heart surgeon with a sporting interest.

It links into your Strava activities

Have a 2003 Westfield sei 1.8 Zetec, the wife says I have to sell, not used in the last 5 years, only to the MOT and back.

Great fun, but got back into cycling so never have the time to use it, plus stored at work so never there when the weather is good.

Build quality is great, have build pictures.

Watch Hambini for his analysis on aero wheels. It may help with choice. Myself run a set of Roval CLX 50 awesome wheels for acceleration and rolling along with little resistance.

Feeling exactly the same, going through the motions on the bike, due road riding in the Alps soon, can’t get excited about it. Was signed off work with depression last week, first time ever had something like this.

Have very good job, work are understanding, lots of toys, spend most time reading now, great family, live in a great rural area, but everything feels meh.

Lost all drive and focus at work and at home, am incredibly competitive but can’t be bothered at present

    Hi

Sorry should have said my son has tried multiple times to sort out and we have multiple folders for steam all over the PC, I wanted to take everything steam off the PC then reload.

You have answered the question thank you, mainly that Steam once reloaded recognises his games under his user account

    Again many thanks

Went to Finland 10 years ago over Christmas for 5 days, to this day the kids still rave about it being their best holiday. We spent the first day on a lake doing avtivities, quads, ice hockey, fishing, skidoos etc, the next day a visit to a husky farm and a 10km trip through the forest on a sled with dogs, they put the kids and wife in the sled, me on the back and undid the rope, brilliant fun, the dogs just followed the quad bike there must have been 10 teams running at one time. We did a skidoo safari the next day for adults and met the kids at various points through the day, massive snowball fights ensued each time we met them., the final day We went skiing before the flight back.

Food was great, there was sledging at the hotel and each evening there was a kids club

It was very expensive but great fun.

    Hi

I take the bike in the car to work, ride home 42 miles, ride back to work next morning, put the bike back in car to drive home, there and back in one day is way too far. Only do in the summer.

    May work for you?

I’m on a medium at 5′ 11″, yes I have a lot of seatpost out but the reach is actually not as long as I thought (top tube actual 22.7 inches) with a 10cm stem, I could have fitted onto a large so XL would probably be ok.

Hamsterly was slippy today on transmission and the top fire roads had 2-3 inches of snow and ice on for heavy going, due to rain overnight and all day tomorrow up here.

Have the mk7 2.0tdi blue motion, get average 66 mpg, have had the 1.6 but as said by somouk they are a bit gutless for overtaking, the chassis is fabulous on the mk7 far better than the mk6 of which I had 3. The engine in my opinion is far better than the 140bhp, seems smoother and pulls very well.

Thrashing the car still returns 55mpg

If you live in urban areas start stop is beneficial, the only query I have on start stop is after 2-3 hours hard running on a m-way you stop at the top of the slip road and the engine stops, I always thought that was bad for a turbo as the oil in the turbo bearings carbonises as the turbo is so hot and the turbo has stopped spinning!

Overall the car is very good, it pootles fine, is great fun when you put your foot down, corners well and is comfortable.

Great area, loads of road and mtb riding, schools ok at junior but not great at senior level, very friendly area, be prepared to travel to do things 15-20 miles to the large shops, A1 etc, most of the above mentioned company commute, I pass endless streams of cars heading to Barney every morning, house prices fairly high in the local area.

Does anyone want an entry, 5 months training for this and then I just have crashed the bike and have concussion so can’t ride it. I’m gutted.

Cannot get a refund so my entry for the 75 is available.

We have the auto D5 activ, on a good run fully loaded with bikes on the back we get 35mpg, empty 38mpg, local 30mpg but we live in the Pennines. 24mpg with horse box and two horses

I was threatened with divorce when I said sell it, the wife loves it, runs on winter tyres all year. Free breakdown and mot at Volvo who discount prices and give good service.

The auto is fabulous to drive, so easy and comfortable, will, look for a new one in a couple of years, current one is 4 years old.

Acceleration and handling are not class leading but as a comfortable long distance cruiser are brilliant at Easter we had 4 people, 4 sets of skis, 1 bike inside, 1 snowboard, clothes and gear for the week inside and 3 bikes on the rack with 36mpg.

Mine does/did the same, I put it down to chain alignment on 3rd gear. After adjusting on the move it seemed to go away bike had only done 100 miles so could be a bedding in issue?
