    I have both a Kaffanbak and a pompino and I am quite happy with them.

    I tried off roading when absolutly clattered on my fixed pompino disaster woke up in the morning stinking of cow dung , enough said

    I have used the Kaff off road to but the tyre clearance is er pants

    If i as in the market now I would look at a Road Rat

    I know its hard I am in the same boat no one wants electricians at the mo, so thats me buggered.
    If nothing comes up in the next 2 weeks I will drop the idea of continueing my trade and get a job doing whatever

    Even the minimum wage is ALOT better than the Job Seakers Allowance

    I joined up years ago and I loved it (RAF) left because of my ex wife and regretted leaving

    Too old to join up again but it is a differant forces to my day

    IIRC the 10speed chain is narrower therefore the rings would be too thick, as for the mechs the front one will be fine but I do not know about the rear mech

    Give it a go the only thing is campag are now going 11 speed so you are out of date before you start

    9 speed works and I am a cheap skate

    motor bike oil is brilliant cos it is cheap unlike cycle oil and the same stuff

    For my trance 2006 I got a SSC headset and just used the bearings they are the same

    I threw the races etc in the bin

    Are the pads glazed if in doubt clean them up with a bit of sandpaper

    Are your rims clean I use a green scouring pad with soapy water

    Same as XC PK mini’s are fine for me for the past 5 years just get them set up right in the first place

    Go 3x i had a rear wheel which was 2x it made the bike feel realy slow (daft as it sounds ) swapped the wheel for a 3x build and the bike flew

    Eye the prices have gone crazy

    All the above are right

    get someone in who will certify the work with building control, if not you will have all sorts of problems when you try to sell
