Can get bikes in back with family of four and all kit for long weekend away/holiday.
Fuel consumption not great but no worse than old Ford Focus it replaced.

iPod on on commute to work (road or canal towpath) and when on familiar trails. When proper biking usually prefer the sound of the bike on the trail and nature’s own music.

Bought a couple of T shirts – v happy with them. Can often get some cheaply on the “trunk” on their website. You will have to pay customs duty or whatever it is to pick up from Royal Mail though. So factor that into price!

I use 40:16 on commuting inbred in your area Ton. Fine for road and canal, but gets a bit spinny with a tail wind.

I last did it in 2h 45 on a singlespead and was b*gg*r*d afterwards! Good fun though.

Agree with ricochet_rob – music breaks the monotany of a commute.

I use a Shuffle clipped on to the chest strap of Camelbak – enables me to use a short headphone cable.

I only tend to listen to music when commuting (road and/or towpath) but not when offroading.

Headwind all the way – an extra 5-10 mins on the commute. Going home should be fun though (fingers crossed the wind stays the same).

It’s days like today when I’m thankful I’ve only got a 40t chainring on the singlespeed.
