Just picked up Hoy Bonaly yesterday. Seems v lightweight and feels as though should last.
Bought it for eldest with the plan being the other two kids will use it afterwards.

Cheers guys. Any idea what the weight is on stock build?
Aims could reduce that a bit with road wheels when required.

Gifting won’t work unless she pays a commercial market rent if continuing to live there otherwise HMRC will see straight through it and come knocking.
    Good luck with that uggski.

Kind of doing most things I can to avoid avoiding it.

Work in central Leeds so might watch the open procession tomorrow evening down the Headrow and am watching the start on Saturday and will be in London on Monday for the finish.

    Can’t wait.

Went from iphone 4 to Samsung S3 almost two years ago.
The ability to use an sd card is a big plus as never any memory issues when need to update software.
My eldest son uses the 4 as ipod/games toy and whenever need to update software I generally have to delete things off it to free up enough space.
Android is great and easy to use, but if apple added micro SD card slots would possibly go back to them.
Due an upgrade now and pondering my next move – stick with S3 and go sim only deal or upgrade to something else. Would not get iphone because of ridiculous price for 32/64GB versions. Toying with idea of Sony Z1 Compact as fancy something a bit smaller than S3.

Previously had a 2001 Marin Wolf Ridge FS which I loved and wore out and then went back to hard tails. Not looked back since.
As much I sometimes lust after a decent FS can’t justify it – bought a road bike recently instead.
Mountain biking mainly local around Leeds, Sherwood and Cannock – nothing that can’t be handled by my trustee single speed inbred (with Revs on though).

My main event for 2014 is just getting back on bike. Currently inactive after shattering heel. Hope to be back on bike by spring and running again shortly thereafter.

Looking at the lists of events people are considering is making me look forward to getting back on the saddle. No pain no gain or so they say -plenty of the former at the moment.

turbo might be an option in a couple of months but not yet unfortunately.
At least I’m being well looked after by the wife but she’s not overly impressed by my injury as I can now do bugger all to help with the 3 kids.

I’m not far from Leeds. Might have to look into that as you say anything better than nothing.

100% and proud – but being a Mackem (now living in Leeds) a bit miffed at the Newcastle reference!

Got Hudls for my boys (9 and 6) for Xmas (both effectively free using clubcard points). They play on the ipad and an old iphone all the time as it is (Minecraft mainly. Just find you need to limit how much they play. If left unsupervised they would play on them for hours, but at the same time its not as if they aren’t out about playing football/riding bikes loads as well.

I waited about 2 weeks – was fed up of the public transport commute by then and wanted back on the bike.

Just received a pair of Shimano M596 from Chain Reaction – a few pence under £70 delivered.
They’ve currently got them on at £40 per end and offer a further £10 off on purchases over £75. Don’t include rotors or IS/Post Mount adapters mind, but I already had those.

Got mine – I’m a 36″ chest so got size small and it’s a good fit. Quite fitted and sleeves are a good length that don’t ride up. Seems well made.
Tried it on commute home last night in light rain and it proved showerproof.
Used it again this morning and the heavens opened – definitely not fully waterproof but it’s not billed as that.
    Overall really pleased with it.

Unfortunately working today, but it is my youngest’s 3rd birthday!
Just given a presentation on the riveting subject of pensions, about to head to a meeting, but not sure what about and hopefully a quiet afternoon before the cycle home.

Catch 22 – I know others will love it, but I really tried to get into it and got about half way before giving up. Utter dross imho!

Used them a few times. Very helpful. If in doubt about stock, just give them a call and they will double check for you.

    Grade 8 Trumpet (Distinction)
Countless professional financial qualifications (all dull)

    All means sh1t.

Plenty of wine (or drink of choice) to get you through the evenings when baby is awake and just will not settle.

    +3 for Baby Bjorn.

If into walking, one of those back pack things when they get a little older – kid is nice and high up and love seeing more!

Daily commute on road/towpath – all year round. Run 40:15 on that.
Not enough riding on other bike which is 32:16 – purely due to time constraints, young family and other commitments.
Geared bike not been used for couple of years and is gathering dust.

Andywarner – too true. Once did Dalby fully rigid – my back and arms hurt like hell towards the end and afterwards.
Next time I did it I had put sus forks on and a Thudbuster and it made a world of difference.
I sometimes run my Thudbuster with springs that are too stoff for my weight so just takes sting out rather than offers full travel. Extra versatility.

Blast it, it's good fun. Nothing too challenging.
Singlespeed ideal in my opinion and always seems faster than those with gears.

    Another Thudbuster fan here.

I got a secondhand one off fleabay. Makes a big difference on long rides and enables me to sit and peddle more than I could with normal post.

    Reasons against:
    1. Battery Life
    2. update problems. Might just be my bad luck but after two major software updates my phone stoped working. First time could not answer any or make any calls unless had headphones in. Second time, wifi stopped working.
My phone was (just) under warranty so Apple are curently replacing as a result of wifi issue.
Third phone in under a year.
Saying that, there service is/was great and I really miss my little buddy!! Looking forward to getting it back tomorrow.
Always looking for alternatives, but for me nohing else comes close yet.
