sorry for a numpty question, but was there much difference between the 5D and 5D MK2?

5D seem to go for a reasonable price, well, for second hand for a full frame anyway?

Might be worth waiting for one of the national newspaper holliday deals, Parkdean as well as others tend to be in them.

Going 2nd hand will get you much better value for money. Bought my Bullit frame with headset, forks, seatpost and cranks for £390.

Had thought about this option Tom

    Cannondale RZ 120

Specs a bit “hmmm” in places, but it’s a decent bike for £999 I reckon.

    A dale for a grand! now there’s a thought 😉

Define decent? Seriously… what do you consider decent?

I thought I had xiphon, read my first post again and see if you can work it out?

Marin East Peak 1998, which cost me £1k back then and lasted me 2-3 before things needed replacing

Is there anything out there worth looking at that would give me the same fun and durability as the Marin?

We have done Skeggy and Minhead in the past, the Hotels onsite are very good, not so keen on the normal accommodation mind.

Great for kids, if you like none stop noise and activity, my two loved it, but the adults in the party always come away feeling like they need a chill out break afterwards 😉

If you can ignore some of the people who go and rise above all that & after a good time for your kids, you have to try it once 😉

[edit] we got a deal on the Shoreline Hotel which did not work out too expensive in the end.

Duane, used both the 90psi and 120psi lezyne & tbh did not notice any noticable difference in pump times to fill a mtb tire up.

If you are worried your going to be spending more time pumping than riding, the lezyne version will not let you down.

BTW if you go onto their website, they do loads of mini pumps, if you do want to get even more confused 😉

My Mum beat it, 6 years ago, treatment was tough, she found the radiotherapy the toughest part to deal with, but everyone is different, she held a huge party to burn her wig after getting the all clear.

Sadly lost my Dad to Liver C. last year though.

Its not that hard to replace the iphone battery & the batteries are quite cheap to buy, loads of good videos as to how to do it on youtube.

I have a friend, who every time he does his weekly shop at a supermarket askes a number of these:

    discount for cash
    how much!
    is that your best price
are you sure that price is right
any discount on any of these

I am sure he would not ask every time if he did not hit sometimes 😉

    He’s a nightmare in a pub too!

I was amazed how much more visable you can be with decent reflectors, the rotation of the crank does make the reflectors stand out so much more & it was easier to guage how far away the cyclist was in front too, compared to just a standard or flashing rear light.

You can get a plastic thing that clips in and has reflectors, I may have some.

Are they the ones that clip onto one side of the spd pedal and you have to use the other side to clip on?

If so, its not the solution I am looking for tbh, I was hoping to have something that I still could use both sides of the pedal still?

Kevels – that’s amazing when you think about it, hope your work place sorts you out good footwear

Well the return trip avg out at 16min miles, having music plugged in seems to help, did not manage to overtake any joggers, think I will work at this for a few weeks, makes a change from bus dogging 😉

Who here has ever overtaken a “jogger” whilst walking? I have and it’s funny.

    Well not me

But that is quite funny 😉

Going to up my pace on the way home see if I can break the 16min avg carring my weekly shopping..

Ticketmaster will start sending out the tickets in June, your olympic online account will not show your ticket allocation either as its in so called ‘lock down’ so they can process them.

What about making ‘P’ plates compulsory for the first year after passing your test then?

Not that I think we need any more compulsory legislation

From my experience they will sort it foc anyway that close to warranty.

My experience too, book it into your local Apple agent for a repair & chances are they will swap it.

Had two Apple products that have just been out of warranty & both were replaced on the spot for nothing.

These threads never cease to amaze me, how big do people think bikes are

Why, how small do you think they are? 😕

Got one booked for a day now, so will be able to check & yes used to have a BMW Mini before and managed to do two bikes in the back with the seats down.

Earlier this year, I slid off on some ice and managed to reveal a ventalation hole in my shorts, big enough that if I cycled out of the saddle, the car behind would have a eye full of my hairy meat and veg, willy waving at them!

Did seem to get quite a bit of space mind as cars passed 😉

Had to do 7 miles like that, the shame of it 😉

Half the dough and keep the second half in the fridge until the first is almost eaten then bung in the oven and bake, rather than making one loaf that is obviously too big for you to eat in time and without having to do the whole thing from scratch twice?

That works for us too, make the dough sizes big enough for daily use, then store the rest in the fridge & bake when needed.

Home made bread rarly lasts more than a day in our home 😉

I find holding a compact so you can see the screen, while trying to tak a pictre anoying to say the least, guess I have got used to optical viewfinders close up to your face 🙂

Now if they did that Fuji with a few interchangable lens for a reasonable price compared to a Leica, you might have a goer.

    s
    Free Member

Leica M9? OK too pricy and a real brick, well I would if I had that amount of money to blow 😉

Sounds like you have found a niche, would be good to have something with a decent high quality optical viewfinder, as well as a decent high res screen too?

Felt completly let down with a recent Leon FR test drive, wanted to love it, but came away from the test drive, feeling cheated and dissapointed.

Styling is pretty awful when you get up close, the interior feels like its been overlooked and is cheap and tacky.

It handled well, but not noticable enough to overcome the interior and styling over a Golf for me TBH

The Golf just felt a much nicer place to be, not the best in its class either, but in a different league to the Leon.

Go drive both and you will see for yourself which you prefer.

    Guy Martin can’t be wrong

I am sure I saw a video of him doing a TT pit stop, all the other bikers were sipping their hi energy drinks through a straw while in the pits, while Guy’s mechanic, dumped a mug of Tea on his tank 😉

    Or was I dreaming 😉
