Once you’ve liked them you have to install their app:

Should be at the bottom of the page:

Price I guess, more than titanium.

    Very nice though:

Just giving it a go now, seems pretty good for free software. Some of the fades aren’t quite right but it’s better than sticking on itunes.

    Thanks for the recommendation

1071 and 1031. I ordered a 1031 got sent the 1071 by accident, and I’ve been running both on the same bike (seeing if the cassette etc. last longer), can’t notice any difference in performance between them, but 1071 might last longer although I doubt it. If you don’t mind spending 30 odd quid kmc sl is supposed to very good.

Rosebikes are doing the 2012 xt for 130 if you don’t mind getting 10 speed. Had mine for about a month and they’re great. Running them with a 10 speed chain on 9 speed everything else.

I’m using sram chains (one hollow pin, one normal) with a reusable kmc connector, which works great. If you want to stump up the the cash the kmc chains are supposed to be very good.

I swapped and shortened mine, and didn’t bother pushing the pistons out. Should be ok if you’re careful. Takes a bit of force to undo nut at lever end, I couldn’t do it in my hand and had to use a spare bar.

Thanks to dez for putting the photos up, very useful.

Prezet, they’re not difficult to swap over, took me about an hour to swap over and shorten. If you do it carefully there’s no need to bleed. Some one has done a guide on the psa xt thread, which I used.

Any new shimano offering from rosebikes?

Got the 2012 xt’s and they’re fantastic, but I do wonder if there’s any great difference between them, the slx or even the deore version. Deore looks like the same design except without reach adjust. Apart from the lettering SLX looks exactly the same to me.

    Shopping trolley vs motorbike cruiser.

If you’re perpendicular to the ground you’ll have very fast steering, but no stability.

I’m running a 10 speed chainset and chain on a 9 speed cassette.

The difference between the chainsets is that the rings are closer together on a 10 speed chainset. Chain internal width is the same for both, but 10 speed chains have a narrower outer width, I found on mine a 9 speed chain ran fine on the outer ring, but rubbed ever so slightly on the outer adjacent ring when I was riding on the outer cassette rings.

Your 9 speed chainset should run fine with 10 speed everything else, but if you want everything 10 speed, then rosebikes have very good prices on the new 2012 shimano 10 speed stuff.

Will have to try the progold though.

Do you definitely need this funnel thing for bleeding? Bit of a pain in the arse if you do, CRC don’t have them in for 2 weeks.

Thanks for that dez, made it nice and simple.

Much prefer the shorter levers to my 770s, but still not sold on the looks.

It’s funny when I first heard dubstep it was Burial, but I just don’t think of him as dubstep at all now. I just think of it it as Burial, as you know it’s him any track you here. Now, I don’t think I could slander his beautiful music by calling it dubstep.

That’s not dubstep, that’s popstep. This is dubstep:

I didn’t realise the 10 speed powerlocks came apart, sram say they are designed not to.

For 10 speed chains use the KMC connectors, as they’re reusable unlike the sram ones which are one use only for 10 speed.

A road chain will run fine on an mtb, shimano do say to use a HG-X chain only but not sure why. I’m running a sram 10 speed with kmc connector on my shimano 10 speed chainset, and it runs fine. KMC make very good chains, and would have gone with them if sram chains weren’t cheap on CRC at the moment.

Not sure about Mavic, but Shimano shoes come up small, generally you have to go one size up.

Not for everyone, but I think the helix is one of the best looking frames currently out there:

Exactly why I emailed him, it’s a Stevens carbon road bike. Can provide pictures if anybody has an interest.

This seems to be his pinkbike profile:

I’m using a sram chain with a re-usable kmc connector which is designed for Shimano chains. You’re right anjs the sram powerlocks are one use.

I haven’t heard one good thing about 10 speed Shimano chains, so went with sram.

For anybody interested or trying to do the same this is now working after putting a new 9 speed cassette on.

You have to run it with a 10 speed chain. In theory you should be able to use a 9 speed chain as the internal chain width is the same and ring spacing is still within limits. However, shimano on their 10 speed chainsets have machined in a shift down/up feature below the rings to give smoother gear changes. Meaning it runs fine on the outer ring, but if you shift down it will ever so slightly rub on the lower part of the larger adjacent ring. (hope that makes sense)

Haven’t seen a full groupset for sale yet, but you should be able to get it in pieces for about 350 by shopping about

If it wasn’t for the fact they’re making it obsolete I’d happily stick with 9. That is a bargain, merlin have some excellent prices at the moment, managed to get a dt swiss 240s front wheel for 80 quid off them this week.

Thanks flow, just searched this and that seems like it’s the problem. Costly attempt!

It’s a brand new chain, so maybe skipping on the cassette then?

From what I’ve read and been told on here they should be in theory, as they have the same internal chain width, but 10 speed has slightly smaller outer width.

I went to the blue rock n roll stuff after getting fed up of finish line wet, you have to apply it often but it keeps the chain clean and runs very smooth. I don’t think you can get a lube which doesn’t pick up crap and stays on a long time.

You may find it doesn’t shift as well, as 10 speed front mechs are narrower than 9 speed. Shouldn’t set you back much to change it, if it doesn’t work when you try it.

If it’s double you should get away with it.

Watchmen is a must read if you haven’t already.

Film is incredibly boring compared to the novel. Alan Moore was right when he told them you couldn’t make a film of it.

Plus he’s a good rider (or used to be), so might recommend some routes for you.
