Is it a door lock like this?
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FERCO-5-28-UPVC-DOOR-LOCK-MULTI-POINT-4-ROLLER-LATCH-/120594953991?pt=UK_HaG_Lock_Safes_GL&hash=item1c1404f707

If so it could be a bit of a nightmare to get in. I have something similar on some of my windows and it was the bit that the handle went through that disintigrated (circular bit with the square hole), fortuneately for me it happend when the window was open but my neighbours one failed when closed and it was an entirely different story getting his window sorted.

I am not sure of the specific DT Swiss hub used on your bike but you may find the following video usefull in putting it all back together.

Have you tried bike-components.de? Earlier in the year a bunch of people were getting Sectors at cheap prices from them. I don’t know if there pricing is competative on the RC3 but they seem to have a big selection marked as in stock.

Looks like they have RC3 shock in 2011 2012 models and regular and high volume housings.

I’d be asking for a refund if it was me, if not a seriously big discount.
Frame is described as new and clearly is not, damage mentioned as slight which it is clearly not and pictures arranged to avoid showing damaged are is pretty low.
Although the frame may be ok you may also find by smoothing out the bearing cup it becomes ovalised and if you can fit a headset corectly you may end up with premature bearing wear.

You should note the box is only part of the Sky HD package, you will still need to pay the extra £10 odd for the HD channels, there are quite a few now.

So by the looks of the deal if you sign up to the HD package on sky which you would have to any way to get the HD content you will get a newer box and £100 of M&S vouchers.

Great news, fingers crosed the recovery continues as smoothly as it seems to have started. What you have gone through would have scared the crap out of me.

    Good luck

When you go back press every button, put everything in every position it could go in. Things like Aircon, electric windows would not be covered in a service or MOT but are annoying and can be expensive when they go wrong.
When you turn up make sure the car is cold (that they have not been runnig it to warrm it up for your arrival) this way you can test things like how good it is at cold start, do the de misting bars in the rear window work, it the heater effective – all things you will want to work in the upcomming months.

Check the seats fold down move through all positions this couild be important to you if you ever plan on carrying bike in the back.

Ok cheers for that, will have a look when i get home. My PCB is slightly diferent as it is a BFlex rather than the newer B2Flex. I have some Arctic Aluminium adhesive stuff so will just need to find some Aluminium to mount onto the pad then onto the heatsink of the LED package.

    RustyMac

I have a Bflex driver sitting at home waiting to be wired up to a Lumi LED package, Which component is it that you need to mount to the heat sink? I have been putting off building it as i thought 750mA may not be quite enough and 1000mA would be overkill and get everything to hot!

Is 70 degres a preset value or could this be reduced? I was kind of thinking 60 degrees my be a better value but have no reasoning for this.

I’ve not personally ordered anything from bike-components.de but earlier in the year a heap of folk were ordering RS Sektors from them as they came in at £225 or something crazy. I don’t recall any bad reports from them apart from an awkward payment system (not massively intuitive).

As people have said no VAT or inport tax on purchases from inside the EU. I have bought a few things from Rose bikes in Germany and stuff arrived within 5 days.

Smudge would be my first port of call for the 18650 cell, i know smudge only uses top quality ones in his batteries. Messing about with Li-Ion cells is not a job i’d advise as they can explode if miss treated.

If you have no luck with smudge then these are available on eBay, i don’t know about the quality of Sanyo cells and have never purchased from that seller.

have a look at Rose bikes for your spokes, you won’t have to buy them by the box and you could get some 260’s and some 262’s, they sell them individually or in packs of 20 you will need to buy nipples on top but they are cheep as chips.

You may want to have a look at paulscycles.co.uk there are some good deals to be had around the £650 mark. don’t know if you would be able to use Cyclescheme to get it through there but could end up with a beter bike for the money.

It was the DP4 bushes i got and so far they seem to be working fine, in my oppinion they are better than the DU ones i had previously. I don’t know about the Polymer ones as i’ve not used them and i have plenty of the DP4 ones left over as i got a pack of 10.

Got my shock bushes from Katec and got a tool like the TF tuned one from the classified section on here.

I have one of the Katec bearing removal tools similar to the bush removal/repacement tool and it works well. The katec one can be used with spanners, have a look at the fitting instructions on TF tuned, BETD and see which you prefer.

Thermal cut out sounds like a good idea to me as long as it is not a one shot deal, maybe you could ask trout what his thoughts on 50 degrees would be.

Could the thermal switch be wired into existing circuits? I have 2 of your 830mA drivers curently.

I just aquired another pair of lumicycle halogen lamps so will try and do some beam shots of what the latest mod achieves. Don’t hold your breath on this one as it will be the weekend before i get back to my flat to get all the lights together.

I had the lower rear suspension bushes go on my Polo last year (not shown in stumpy01’s pic). The steering on the car doesn’t feel right when they are worn, it was obvious when I went over a speed bump as you could feel the front wheels kind of push back rather than transfer the compression up through the suspension. Bushes can affect tracking which could present it’s self as an imbalance i guess

For my car as with a good few of the VW/Scoda/Seat range the lower rear bushes on the front suspension are a common failure point. They are pressed in a “console” – cast housing that the lower suspension arm (sumpy01’s pic) then slots into. VW recommend replacement of the console and bush as the console can be damaged by clumsy mechanics. As far as i am aware this is VW just trying to get you to bend over.
The consoles for my car were £90-100 +VAT per side the bushes were £12-15 per side. I got an independent garage to remove and replace the bushes and got charged 1hr labour per bush.

If it is the front bush that has gone get new suspension arms fitted, the time saving in replacing the arm generally out weighs the additional cost of it as it will have new bushes pre pressed into it.

Evening Classes worked for getting my Degree, and that was while working 8 – 5 five days a week.

If your 3 days are flexable at all you may even be able to study full time around your job or at worst pick up some extra classes to speed up then part time course.

morgs +1 prepare as much in advance as possible

    Nibbles

Vol au vents with a bacon and mushroom stuffing are good (make the stuffing before and then fill and heat cases on the day). The stuffing my mum makes is briliant on baked potatoes too so she normally makes a big batch and we have that for dinner on the 27th.

Baked camembert with crispy bits of bread to dip in it and cranbery sauce is good too and also dead easy to do on the day if you have the bread prepared in advance.

Finding out the driver output is kind of tricky, I know what is in mine as i built the lights and i bought a 830mA driver board, other driver boards can be programmed to work at different outputs, the TaskLED boards are a prime example of this.

Some of the propper light boffins may know of a way of measuring it but i don’t know how.

you are missing the 3rd component to the light – the driver board.

In generalities the driver board controls the current going to the LED rather than the battery.

Some peope still feel the girls at the hub have been hard done by with the new Forresty Commision development. Alot of people thought that as the girls had been there for so long and helped make glentress what it is they would automatically get to run the new development. Unfortuneately the Foresty Commision rejected there bid and this has been a bitter pill to swallow for some.

At the end of the day everyone has the right to there own oppinion and other people will have had different experiances of the Hub to thoes you may have had.

In my oppinion the thing that took me back to the hub time and time again was the flap jack and the atmosphere. I hope with mountain bikers being mountain bikers the chilled out happy atmosphere will continue over at the new centre, i will miss the flap jack though.

I haven’t used the shop or rental bikes so can’t comment on them.
