The mavic XM819 or XM719 are designed to take upto 2.3 tyres, they will cope fine with 2.4 as neil853 mentions above.

Stans ZTR Crest are a littel wider and a little lighter and would give you more tyre volume but you would have to add a tubeless rim strip to run tubelss which will even the weight out with the mavic rim a fair bit.

If you have had no real problems with your curent setup (dinged rimms or buckled wheels) then any of the above options would suit, if you feel you want something a bit stronger then the Stans ZTR Flow rim is wider and heavier still but will be a bit stronger too.

[hijack] If you need a 240 front hub drop me an email I have one that has sat in my flat for the last year i could do with selling [/hijack]

You sure hope don’t do one you need?
have a look at this document for the full range
    http://www.hopetech.com/webtop/modules/_repository/documents/HOPEHEADSETS2011Web.pdf
On page 3 it looks like a 6 for the top and an F for the bottom match your description.

Didn’t notice that, sure you’ll be fine with the cheaper one.

Can i suggest you note down the numbers on the bearings when you get them as they get worn over time and when you need to replace them you will struggle to read them.

Dez, I realise this is for a hack bike but i have used this model of FSA headset in the past and was plesently impressed by it

    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=51070

Philconci-noncence has it now as I had bought a spare and then changed to be able to fit tapered forks on my bike so sold the spare to him earlier this year.

The main reason I am recommending the extra bit of spend on this one is the cups are really sturdy on that model (I just replaced the bearings in the one that was fitted when i got the bike) and then the bearings are cane creek standard bearings that can be got for about £8 each when the ones supplied die.

I’d suggest flushing it through with some cheap engine oil before re-filling with new stuff just to be sure you get all the antifreeze out.

Damn, I will keep looking. May end up with some brown ones from CRC at £35 but saving an extra tenner on these would go along way to getting the clickfast liner to match them.

Good luck in sorting out your return.

The old owner (dead) also plumbed* in mains electricity for a double socket and lighting.

*Sparky to remove all this back to the mains box of course.

Would it not make more sense to convert this to a single outside socket? could be very useful in the future.

If they are a sold out size then you could punt them on on this site for the advertised selling price and re buy the FS260’s if some are still available in your size at a profit 😉

If you a a fan of VW Skoda Seat cars i have done quite well out of my 2003 1.4 Polo FSI, I was looking for a replacement to my 98 polo (first car) and was thinking a Fabia or an Ibiza may be cheaper but the Polo came up and was chepest of them all.

Things that i have come accross to look out for on the 2002-> Polo have been suspension bushes ( I am told it’s common problem accross entire VAG range of that size car). Wheel bearings can be expensive when they go as they are sold in a package with the hub – this does make replacing them a much quicker job.

Shopping round for brake disks and pads pays divedends over OEM replacements. My car is disks all round so i have replaced them myself.

I’ve had the clutch go on my car but think that was more to do with the previous owners rather than part (ex demo then old woman), this was the most expensive repiar to date at £400.

Insurance on my car seems a little expensive for what it is. It may be worth having a look into insurance costs of your shortlist if you are on a tight budget too, in hindsight i would have been wise to do this as a friend has a Skoda of a similar age and has a smaller insurance premium.

Just tell her to WTFU and make something up or arrange something for that afternoon and go to the interview at the same time, I have found that having to take the car to the garage or having someone round to look at/service the boiler work well for these types of things.

Check the boiler pressure. It should be somewhere between 1 and 2 bar.

My boiler did same thing after i had some work done on my central heating system. Fortuneately for me i had the guys still in my flat and it was sorted within 20 minutes.

Would it not be more suitable to mount it to the window frame rather than the glass? Or is the point that you can read it through the window without having to go outside?

Li-Ion are fine as long as you keep them dry, when the cells get wet they expand and the contents seep out – not nice.

Li-Po are the ones i have heard all the scare stories about, is it thes ones you mean?

    Had a cracking christmas,

24th – Celebrating for my Slovac girlfriend with my mum sister and my oldest friend, cooked an awesome meal of roasted whole salmon in a hone, mustard and dill sauce and a good few bottles of wine.

25th – Celebrating with my mum, sister, girlfriend, aunt, uncle, 2 cousins and partners and my nana, Santa was very generous and some more amazing food (turkey and all the trimmings) then to top it off

26th – Best described as a family gathering, 36 people decended on my mums house for a buffet lunch, 3 generations of famalies all having a great time enjoying some more top notch grub and some beers and wine.

Christmas this year has been fantastic.

Phil when you come to stick your flap down i’d advise using duck tape rather than sparky tape, i’ll do a better job. However you don’t want to get any of the duck tape on the paint as it will leave a creamy white sticky mess behind.

    Safe driving

It could be a case that the owner has miss worded what he was saying to you. To the best of my knowledge there are 2 ways that a property goes under offer.

1 buyer viwes propert likes it makes formal offer property is formally under offer

2 seller gets a few notices of interest goes to closing and picks the best offer (not neciserily the most moeny but more often than not) then the property goes formally under offer.

By the sounds of it you would be worth while giving your solicitor a quick call to find out if the property is formally under offer to understand where you stand when you go to view it tonight.

As druidh mentions you can get your solicitor to stick in a notice of interest which should allow you to bid on the property or at worst you you will be notified if it is under offer/off the market.

If it was me I’d look at getting Revelations to replace your Lyrics, for a blue pig i think Rebas may be a little short on travel and I think they would be even more flexable than Revelations. Revelations can be spaced down to 130mm easy emaough if that is all you want from them and by having the extra stantion inside the lower it should help make the fork a bit stiffer.

If you do a search for Kaesae or go through his ebay shop you will find contact detils for him. He will be able to advise on tools for replacing the bearings on your Giant Anthem.

I got the bearings for my Iron Horse MK3 from him (similar in that it also uses a linkage and multiple bearings), I just gave him the numbers off the bearings and he had all but one pair of them in stock and it only took him a couple days to get the other pair. The bearings in my bike were fitted in spring this year I checked them earlier this week and they are still as good as the day they were fitted. I was so happy with them i went back to Kael for Pro 2 hub bearings in Autumn this year.

Looks like he has been found out, some of the ads have been removed already.

The adds themselves could also be stolen from previous people selling the bikes. If you look in the backgrounds of the 2 remaining ads they are in totally different places (one against a blue shed with horazontal boards, one against a dark brown shed with vertical boards)and the format of the adds are different.

In general people stick to the same format when they sell there stuff – same text sizes, colours, fonts, layouts etc these are totally different sugesting they were done by diffrent people.

Seen similar things on gumtree – they take other peoples pics and make up new auctions for them and insist on a sale out with ebay and paypal then do one with your money. Possibly from someones hacked ebay account. It is a scam and hopefully it is only the pictures that have been stolen.

I Just get muddy now, i tried a homemede version of the neoprene gards (the ones that go between the fork crown and the fork brace) made from an old inner tube with a crud catcher which did help stop mud flying up into my face but i found loads more mud and crap built up round the seals of my foks which worried me so i removed it.

I immagine this would happen with the genuine one too but would love to be proved wrong.

Going by the pic and description it is the correct BB for your bike, if you are concerned there is an advice button just beneth the title of the part that gives you contact phone numbers and email address of people at Rose bikes (it has the pic of a smiley face by it). If you contact one of the guys under the mtb parts section i’m sure they will be able to reassure you it is the correct bit.
