Has it not been shown that the eggs/cholesterol argument isn’t valid?

There was something on TV a week of so back where a woman was trying to dispell some of the myths like the eggs/cholesterol one, she ate something like the average weekly intake of egg for one person (4 eggs) every day for 2 weeeks and her cholesteroln wen’t up 0.1 and her ratio of good to bad did not change.

There was stuff about milk as a recovery drink and brewing tea for longer to get more anti-oxidants out of it.

If you can see the back of the bolt (bolt hole is open) then try with a small drill bit (2-2.5mm) from the opposite side as the screwing in of the drill bit will be turning in the loosening direction for the broken bolt and as the drill bites the broken bit it should un-screw it for you.

By using a smaller drill than the bolt you should not touch the treads and you should not need to worry about re-dressing the them for the new bolt to fit in.

If you are concerned about your charger you can gt replacements from smudge at Mtbbatteries.co.uk, he would alsso be your best bet for info on wether your current chargers my be inter compatable.

What light should i get next – looks like smudge may be brewing something up which i’d be keen to see before ruling it out, i would also take a look at the mytinysun lights they look very well made for the money.

Smudge does battery repairs, he has fitted a new cable to a lumi battery for me in the past. He is not always on here but i have always had replies when email him on sales@mtbbatteries.co.uk

From your three options i’d instantly discount the DT Swiss Ex500 rims as i have the Ex5.1D (essentally the sam rim re-branded) and they are a real PITA get tyres mounted on them and although mine have coped with everything i have thrown at them there has been a number of reports of being pretty soft.

I have a set of En521 rims to build onto a pair of hubs for something a bit stronger but haven’t had the time to finnish the build. Reviews when i bought the rims were really encoraging unfortuneately CRC have removed them when the En521 came out with new grafix.

I know of a few people who have taken ztr flows to the alps and they have been flawless, if i had been able to afford flows when i bought the En521 rims i would have had them.

If it was my choice i would go for flow rims especially if they are coming as a pre built wheel set as deal on them is fantastic.

I know a few people who have done the heat gun repair trick, not one of them has lasted more than a couple of months. out of the 3 consoles 1 was able to be bodged twice the others all failed at the second time.

It may be worth it for a short term fix but don’t concider it a long term solution.

The F1 is going to be tied to the HD package rather than the sports package i think. It would be worth a check if it will still work with that before you go ahead with your plan.

Any frame with a zerostack headset 44mm can be converted to take 1.5 steerer forks with a different headset. The cups sit external to the frame so extend the axle to crown length a little but this may help open up a few extra frames for you to concider.

Not used them but price seems good. Have a look at tigersheds.com for a competative alternative. Some similar sheds size wise but not as fancy.

For the cable google “sky shotgun cable” this is the dual cable for sky+ the little bit i have is made by Webro. You will also need 4x F-connectors, these are used at either end of the cable for the LNB (reciever on the dish) and the connection to the sky box.

If you run the cable yourself you can get it :-
1 exactly where you want it and
2 route it in a descrete run.
Sky will run it which ever way is easiest and it can look terrible. I have seen cables in flats run up comunal hallways, over doors, round the top of skirting and all sorts.

If you are just looking to plug the holes as a temporary fix to allow the water to drain out could you not use something like a balloons?

If there is some space on the outside of the liner that it could be inflated into as long as it stays larger than the hole the water pressure from the rising water table should keep it in place.

I like THESE sunline ones, so much so i just bought another 2 pairs at that price.

I normally ride in gloves and have found that these grips lack grip when paird with my sweaty hands if I don’t wear gloves. They are still comfy which is why i like them.

If you drop Hope an email i’m sure they would tell you the part number for a bearing kit for the hub, you can then order one through your local bike shop so long as they stock hope stuff. Sonme online stores may have it listed as a kit already so it’d be woth a quick google.

Hope may tell you the bearing type fopr the needle roller bearing if it is not part of a readily available hope after market kit. You could also ask them if it needs replaces with the other bearings in a general hub service or is for the casette section.

Below is the bearing numbers for the specs listed (Hope give you a handy hint with there part numbers). The 2RS is the sealing on the bearing in this case 2x rubber seals (commonly used in MTB application)

    17x30x7 = 61903-2RS bearing
    15x28x7 = 61902-2RS bearing

If you google the bearing type rather than the spec you may find a better selection.

edited to actually make a little sense.

3 cross is standard, I normally look at the numbers and go for the nearest whole number that a spoke would be easy to get in.

In your case i’d look to get 260mm Disk Side 258mm Casette Side

Dt Swiss competition spokes are decent spokes to go for – double butted.

Take a look at Rose bikes, you can get 20 silver spokes for £5.90 or black ones for £8.90. Nipples are £1.49 for 40. Postage is extra (£5 ish from memory), but this way you can get the correct spoke lengths and have a few spares to keep handy for brakages etc.

You would be roughly £24.30 for 40 black spokes and nipples or £18.30 for 40 silver.

if you click on the button for rims it details how to measure the ERD of the rim – presuming you have it already.

Otherwise the deails can be found through
    http://www.tech-mavic.com

    username :- mavic-com
    Password :- dealer

Note mavic list there rim diamiters in a slightly different format to ERD so will need converting but google is your friend for this.

You can also use the Dt Swiss spoke calculator to find the ERD of the rim

Take a look at the Edinburgh city council web site they have rental contracts, short assured tenancy forms, example inventory lists, key / access declaration forms. Pretty much everything you will need. I’d send a link but it is a bit fiddly from my phone.

    Oh and TJ +1

Slightly different circumstances, maybe I didn’t explain it very well. The problem we have is that as the tenant to be may be out of the property with work commitments for a few weeks at a time which may exceed the overall vacant time for the property for insurance purposes – some insurers have a limit on this.

Renton I believe is in a different geographical location to his rental property so is unable to be there to supervise or coordinate repair work.

If any one knows of an insurer with more lenient time scales on vacant periods of rental properties I’d be grateful.

Don’t think Renton’s problem with his tenants was prolonged absence from the property almost everything else but not proloned absence from the property 😉

    Pook,

We would still have access we can write to the tenant and give 24hrs notice for a visit which I think is what you were getting at??

To solve the problem of prolonged absence from the property we could add a bit into the contract to state if the tenant is away from the property for a period of 12 days or more they must contact us then we will write back to them to state an inspection will take place mid way through the time they are away to check everything is A ok and comply with the insurance requirements. This may also help the tenant with getting insurance.

    Inventory –

Ours is in an excel spreadsheet and documents wall coverings, carpets, curtains, light fittings – everything down to cutlery, coasters and door stops. For each item we have detailed quantity make condition where appropriate. For some of the more expensive items we have also detailed model numbers – TV, stereo, DVD, washing machine to ensure the same items are there when the tenant leaves and so they have a reference if they ever loose the instructions for something.

[edit] Also as you can tell form some of my posts I am not the quickest at typing [/edit]

Inventory is more or less there it took us about that long to go through everything too. We are planning on going through it with the tenant and adding or removing any comments as they see fit.

Girlfriend is phoning round a few places this afternoon, M&S have already said no for changing over so unfortunately that is not going to work for her.

    It was this one

    http://www.richersounds.com/product/lcd-tv/samsung/le32d550/sams-le32d550

This semms to be the newer model of that tv so could also be woth a look

    http://www.richersounds.com/product/lcd-tv/samsung/le32d580/sams-le32d580

So far dad is very happy with it, he has commented it was easy to set up and intuative to use.

The guys at Richer Sound in edinburgh gave good advice when we went in to buy the TV so I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

As yet I have not offered more than I am willing to pay. I will not be bidding any more. I went in with a substantial bid as I may not be about for the end of the auction. In the past I have gone in with big big bids when I knew I’d not be about but I won’t be doing that again.

Sorry S B Z I’m with maccruiskeen on this one, if you are not prepared to sell for a lesser amount then put a reserve on or sell as buy it now. Shill bidding is just out of order.

    RustyMac

Can’t prove it but the way the bids have been placed seems suspect and the percentage of bids from the bidder towards the seller is very high.

What Trout said, in the order state it for a Lumi light and it will come wired the correct way with the right connector.

Well that is what i did and it worked.

You could look at the likes of a caravan solar kit to charge up a old car or truck battery(s). From the battery(s) you could run LED lighting, a car stereo for music and then have a 12v output to run the likes of a mobi or dirt worker.

It’d probably be a couple of hundred quid to get all the stuff but you could also use the mobile pressure washer at the trails too.
