If the frames have internal or zero stack headsets in them then you should be able to fit the nuke proof headset. Be aware some of the nuke proof headsets come with longer insertions than others that do not work with all frames.

Flows and other stans rims will give you the option to go tubeless, they do not need to be run tubeless from the start. Arch rims may also be worth a look if you will re-consider stans rims.

Although 719’s may not state they can take 2.35 they will be fine on them. If you want to stick with Mavic the have a look at the En521.

I would think those clearances should be ok, it will depend on how much the stove is used and how light the paint you plan to usee as to how quickly the paint will discolour.

I have much tighter tolerances than you so am looking to tile inside and up the outside edges of my surround with something like I have hopefully linked to below.

What depth on your stem from the top to the centre of the top bolt?

You may want to factor in the cost of one of these if you are determined to use the new forks.

it only has a 35mm stack hight.

Pro II front are common as muck on ebay, lots of different types at all sorts of different quality. Last time i got some i got from Keasea’s ebay shop.

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hope-Pro-2-hub-bearings-kit-front-performance-upgrade-/130529564257?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item1e642b1661

Over the last year they have been faultless.

For the FSA Pig Headset bearings i am not sure where will be best for the loose bearings.

OK cool cheers for that, my girlfriend and i took the train from Bratislava to Liptovský Mikuláš last summer so i know how long it takes. I didn’t realise it was that far up.

5mm will probably be ok but i don’t think you have got your maths quite right.

Current set up is 185mm steerer with 5mm spacer. Say you have a 2mm to acomodate the top cap going to 175 would give you 7mm from the top of your stem. With the open design of the Thomson x4 you may find this pushes the steerer below the top bolt to the unsuported area of the stem.

I may have miss understood what you have typed but to my understanding it is not going to be 5mm from the top of the stem which would probably be ok but 5mm less than your curent set up which may make it 7 or 8mm below the top of your stem which is pushing it.

    Thoes pics look ace.

This winter will hopefully be the odd weekend in the Scottish ski centres and possibly maybe a cheeky few days in Slovakia over new year if i can convince the other half.

Kit wise i will be looking for some new board pants as i put a hole in mine last season that was fixed by super gluing a patch over it. This was far from a delicate job so looks a bit crap.

Any recommendation on deals on clothing greatefully recieved.

[edit] so far the best place i have found for cheap reasonable quality ski/board gear is sports direct, and their helly hansen stuff. Some is at 50% and 70% off [/edit]

There is another airport in Slovakia in Kosice. Liptovský Mikuláš is closer to Kosice than Bratislava. You may find flights from Manchaester to there instead.

Big bold colourful text in the advert body announcing you are a numpty and it is a 3 speed shifter not a 9speed one. If you already have bidds then it may be wise to cancel the auction and relist with the correct title.

You can buy the Rock Shox all travel spacers as after market items for reducing the travel. I got some from Loco Tuning and am pretty sure TFTuned sell them too.

You could look at some of the Seiko watches with sapphire crystal glass, you should be able to get a few stainless ones inside your buget and possibly even a titanium one or two.

    Something like this maybe

It will depend on the price of the car.

I have found with the following banks HBOS, RBS/Natwest and Santander that the faster payments thing works upto £1000 however if you do any more than that it takes 3 working days to clear.

If he has the cash then can you not both go to his bank, him withdraw the cash then go to your bank and pay it into your account at which point you can give him a receipt, the keys and the log book.

Have a look at the Electron Terra 2 or the niterider minewt for a front only light more designed for commuting.

I have these on my commuter bike but do not cycle on unlit roads.

    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=73920

What kind of budget are you thinking about?

Something like this from MTBbatteries would be more than adiquate at 10% on lit roads and then bump it up for unlit as required. But at £57 my be more than you want to spend.

    http://www.mtbbatteries.co.uk/mountain-bike-lights/mountain-bike-light-v1/

In the past it has been disussed that the offroad type lights are not the best solution for town/city riding as they have no visibility from the side. This can be overcome by chopping a table tennis ball and fitting it over the front of the light as a difuser.

Stumpy01 is spot on, merlin site is way easier to understand than crc and it is 2 of the top ones on this link you will need

    http://www.merlincycles.com/bike-shop/mtb-parts/brakes/disc-brake-spares/avid-disc-brake-spares/2012-avid-caliper-mounting-brackets.html

Do you have mounting bolts for the calipers?

The old avid brakes i have use a bunch of conical washers for 3D positioning or something.

    Like these

    http://www.merlincycles.com/bike-shop/mtb-parts/brakes/disc-brake-spares/avid-disc-brake-spares/avid-caliper-mounting-bracket-hardware-bolt-kit.html

I don’t know if these are required for the 2012 brakes but I’m sure someone else will be able to confirm.

Front and rear adapters are different as you can see form this some what confusing part list on CRC

    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=75477

what size do you want? Front or rear or both?

    +1 for looking localy

I got the glass replaced in all 8 of my windows in my flat by a local company (Crest Glazing in Aberdeen) for just over half the price that some of the big boys quoted for replacing seals. The company did what they said on time and were always very helpfull when i called, can’t say the same for the other companies i called.

Ask around friends, listen to local radio, look in the local paper then phone round them all and get them out to quote. It was pretty obvious to me which companies sent out window fitters and which sent out sales people. It was an easy chioce for me to go with the people who new what they were saying when i asked how they would do the job.

If it has been 2 weeks and you are still in quite a bit of bother i’d go and see a doctor.

When i dislocated my knee the swelling took quite a while to go. Ice on it regularly really helped mine.
I got the gel ice bag things from boots and had one at home and one at work, i would ice my knee at tea breaks and lunch at work and in the morning and a couple of times in the evening at home.

Will look into the price of a Pen body and a lense, local Jessops is getting a Nik 1 in with a pancake for me to have a bit of a play with so i will compare the two of them then.

Thanks again to everyone who has taken the time to reply.

Thanks everyone for the all advice so far, at the moment the Nikon with the pancake lense is leading simply on price and desired initial lense.

Any one know where to get an Olympus Pen E-PL3 with a pancake lense?

    RustyMac
    Free Member

Mol/rs do you have an Olympus Pen or know how the lenses system works?

    http://www.jessops.com/online.store/products/82296/show.html

Above link is to the E-PL3 you mention with 2 lenses and it had me totally confused does the second lens fit over the first or is it the same as the Nikon where you remove and replace.

Is the suggestion that a slightly larger outlay on the Olympus E-PL3 would be beneficial in the long run for greater versatility on lens choice?

    Ah right,

Think that is alreaddy happening (£50 cash back on the J1 and V1), well it seems to be at Jessops anyway.
