    Hey Ben,

Each to their own i guess, can’t say I am one for the lugged look. I think that one of the things I like best about the Hummer the smoothness of everything.

    The Hummer looks awesome.

After riding down in Galloway for the first time a few weekends back, i am now very jelous of your bike and the trails you have on your doorstep.

Can’t say i see the point of the S&S couplings, the soulcraft has such lovely lines it’d be a shame to have a couple of bumps in it for the couplings.

I am going to assume that the Hope have designed the light using older tech when it comes to LED’s the current these are then run at is optimised for thoes LED’s.

What trout is doing it puting the latest LED’s in the light the XML’s can be run at higher currents producing brighter output so the old driver needs replacing in conjunction with the LED’s.

Depends on what you mean by do it up???

If you plan on stripping the bike and getting it re-coated then you could go down the route of a whole new deore groupset from merlin for £200.

Apart from contact point which you say you have already got i hand the only other thing you may want to do would be the wheels.

if you do the spannering yourself you could get a lovely looking bike for sub £300.

I put a link to it back in the middle of page 8, it has not been deleted.

They have ThirtyTwo snowbaord boots as well as the Sweets clothing for the next 7 days and Block & Oakley goggles & helmets for the next 3 days.

Personally don’t like the colour or the red highlights, my favourite is the apple green.

Looks like it will be a blast to ride though. Hope you enjoy it.

You don’t necessarily need to go for such high wattage LED bulbs, try and have a think about where they will be used. I use GU10 bulbs in my flat so not a direct comparison however below gives you an idea of what I use and what may be practical for your application. All my bulbs have come from B&Q or Home base and although not as cheap as eBay were not ridiculously expensive.

In my hall (4’x15′) I changed 3 50W halogens for 3 1.2W surface mount GU10 bulbs, these provide more than enough light for a hallway. The surface mount LED’s provide a really wide spread so work well for this type of application.

In my living room (12’x14′) I changed from 3 50W halogens to a regular pendant fitting with energy saving bulb and 3 2W LED’s, I also have a lamp with a energy saving bulb for reading. This is the only room I feel I could do with a little more light but 90% of the time it is fine.

I have winters tyres for my car (vw polo), I took them off sometime near the end of May as i was finding that the cornering grip was lacking. The car was begining to underseer a bit round round-a-bouts. As for wear to them, i have used them for 2 winters now and they have loads of life left atleast 6mm and they have probably done 10K miles.

If you are thinking about fitting winter tyre now they will be fine, be aware that this is not the optimal time for them.

If you are planning on keeping the car for a while and changing tyres year in year out it may work out more cost effective to get steel wheels for your car and get the winters mounted to them. This will save the £15/corner 2x a year and may mean that you can get slightly smaller but taller tyres that may be cheaper in the first case.

“does this sound remotely likely?” To me no it does not, to her being stirred up by her mother it seems like the most plausable thing in the world.

Right so it would appear this reporter is a bit of a shit stirrer and that is possibly why there has been very little reported else where.

However, reports from Slovak media are that in a number of cases the kids are being taken into care for unsubstantiated reasons.

I personally think it may be down to the various different rules in different countries throughout Europe and misconception of the UK system in comparison to their own.

Quick bump for the daytime crowd.

I realise the tile is a little over the top and sensationalised but any further info would be greatly appreciated.

Some MTB bb’s have extended threaded sections but most are the same road or MTB.

The only other thing to consider is the threads in the road BB shell some are italian some are english. To the best of my knowledge all MTB bb shells are english.

    What he said ^^^^^^^

Always had top service from Smudge when repiaring Lumicycle batteries for me. The last time i used him i got the battery back within 4 days of posting it to him.

What I was meaning is you could pick up something like One of these and a helmet mount and use your own battery.

The link looks like it could be a uk shop but I have never used them. As I said smudge at MTBbatteries may be able to sort you out with something too if he has leftover bits from lights.

If you have a DX battery and charger you may be better with a standard head unit to pair with the battery pack, I’d expect you could get more for your money that way.

If you decide to go down the head unit only option try contacting smudge at mtbbatteries as he may have one within your budget and he normally is very quick with postage.

When new that bit on the right would have looked like this.
You can buy them seperately but it would be more common to get a new exhaust section.

As other have said if the exhaust is not blowing (making a racket and releasing gasses from other places/holes than the end) then you should be fine. To check this get something and hold it over the end of the exhaust pipe and have a look under the car to see if you have any leaks.

Problem there is that the thermostat is in the hallway. We don’t live in the hallway. We live either in the living room or bedrooms depending on the time of day

Can you get individual thermostats for each room? I know you can get moveable ones but that won’t work well with TRVs.. or will it? Hmm…

This comes back to the original design of your heating system, you have radiators calculated to heat a specific size of room, this calculation is based on various aspects, size, construction, proportion of outside walls, direction outside walls face, etc, etc.

Your heaing is controlled by the controller in conjunction with a calculated radiator. The other rads in the house with TRV’s allow you to easily vary the temperature in the room to aid your comfort. Some rooms you may want warmer, some you may want cooler that is my understanding of what TRV’s are for.

I cooked this a couple of weeks ago, tasted great. Not done in a slow cooker but is cooked slowly in a pot.

Grease the insert of the headset, get a couple of bits of 2×4 one to rest the frame on, one to use between the mallet and headset to even out the force of the blow.

Is it not just a case of finding the best fit with the initial few cogs and then ensuring you put the remaining cogs on in the same orientation?

I normally grease the threads too.

Don’t know if the bike is a full sus but i get a creaking noise from my suspension bushes when they are worn. It has been know for creaking noises to come from QR skewers, a bit of grease on the skewer normally sorts that.

Have you tried contacting Loco? he may be able to make get you some Rock Shox Reba RLT Dual position Air forks or you may be able to pick up some U-Turn Reba’s that you could possibly put pop lock on.

[edit] cant figure out if these are 29er or not but may fill your requirements

I’ve used these Bolle safety glasses, they look more like the Endura Snappers you already have.

T_r boiler at my girlfriends is also outside, would agree that if it is tripping the frost stat inside there are bigger problems.

    RustyMac

    Al,
Could you fit one of these wireless thermostats and fit the digital controller bit which has the thermostat in it by the always on rad. Set the controller to 15 deg 24/7 and then the rest of the radiators to 1.

The heating is then set to 15 degrees and you should avoid any pipe freezing incidents. Also that controller has a frost stat (built in override if it gets too cold)as that was one of the main concideration when fitting it at my girlfriends flat.

If the rotors are not changing then you should be fine with the same adapters.

There is a slim chance the old adapters may foul the caliper but you would have to be particularly unluky for that to happen.

The widget and stone set is pricey but great for taking the skill out of honing a razor sharp edge

    Shapening Guides £8.50
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Global-Sharpening-Guide-Rails-Set/dp/B0006A03V0/ref=sr_1_10?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1348149645&sr=1-10

    Stone £18.50

I don’t think they are that expensive, granted if you go for a global stone they get expensive.

Above is video from Global knives on how to sharpen knives, as others have said a steel just re-points a knife rather than sharpening it.

Global also have widgets you can buy to ensure the knife is sharpened to the ideal angle, if you are struggling then they could be a big help.
