Wasn’t meaning swapping between forks you use as such, 2 crown races makes a lot of sense for that. I was getting at if you got some new 11/8 forks and wanted to change the 11/8 adapter.

Ok I see how it works now, still seems odd to me using two bits rather than one but hay ho. Will it not be a total PITA to get that adapter bit off if you want to change the forks as it doesn’t appear to be split like the crown races?

Don’t suppose anyone has a pic of the HS136 part in action? I can’t get my head around how it works or why a larger pan crown race is not used like CK.

Molly from the back up disks?

I’m thinking half the problem is after the last rebuild I installed everything on the back up disks then uninstalled the crap through add/remove program’s then put on what I wanted. But I guess this is not much different to how it would have been before the re-build.

It really didn’t do anything, think you at right on the rebuild however the laptop comes with restore disks from pre service pac 2 and they have a heap of Sony Oem software that it crap. There is no easy way to do a clean install of XP then the current software in use on the computer.

Will look into the upgrade advisor for the net books.

Cougar, I did that on the laptop 512MB to 2GB (crucial said this was the max for the laptop) and it seems to have made no difference hence the comment in the first post.
The netbooks seem fine for what we do if not updating them is not going to give us grief then I’m happy enough to use them till they die and then get new at that point just sisn’t want to unwhittingly leave us open to scrotes looking for my bank details etc.

    Why bother upgrading?

I figured there could be more of a security risk if it s not being updated etc – correct me if I am wrong?

We do use them for internet banking and online shopping etc so don’t want to leave ourselves vulnerable.

I do not expect the netbooks to be 64 bit pretty sure they are only 32 bit as you suggest. I was more meaning the rest of the system requirements will be more easily achievable if I stick to 32bit.

I may have to upgrade the RAM in the better half’s netbook as I think she may only have 512Mb at the moment.

grant – laptop maybe but the netbooks work fine for what we use them for, – surfing the internet, typing the odd email, chatting to friends and family in foreign countries over Skype etc not much of a gamer so never needed anything very powerful.

c p I read similar on the PCWorld web site but did not know how accurate it was. Or if it was jut markating bumf.

    Less energy, more power

Windows 8 Pro is designed to deliver a great experience across a range of different devices, from ultra-fast desktops to low-power tablets. It can run on low-power CPUs so you can work for much longer on a single charge

    Minimum system requirements
Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster
    RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)
Hard disk space: 16 GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
Graphics card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver

I guess i’ll be ok if i Stick to 32-bit version. But have no idea about the grapics qualities of the devices.

TBC’s online shop seems to be pretty accurate with the stock they have and i’m pretty sure the one left is the last one they have.

Have you replaced the cable from the lever to the post?

I got a used one and have stuck a jagwire outer cable and Teflon coated gear inner and this has helped massively.

The 44mm headset size is for zero stack headsets and allows 1 1/8 forks to be used as well as tapered with an external lower cup. The head tube being 44mm was one of the reasons i went for one this afternoon, i look at it as future proofing.

Another possible option for you if you are looking for a 15.5/16″ frame

What do you use to bleed a Reverb? Hope it is not dot fluid, that could make a real mess of any painted surface in the van. Has the dog been acting funny since it chewed it?

Had a polite email from them stating there had been a cockup at their end with the code and that they will honor the first purchase. Seems pretty fair to me.

I was looking into this for my mum over the hoidays, similar problem of a flood light being triggered by the wind and the neighbours cats and dog so we are now thinking about an outside light that accepts GU10 bulbs on a daylight sensor.

Her light is outside the backdoor with a switch in the kitchen so we figured that she can switch it on before she go to work and if it is dark the light will come on and then when she is home from work the light will be on if required and she can switch it off when she makes dinner.

I figure a couple of 5W led GU10 Bulbs will be way more efficient than the flood light and should provide enough light to navigate the three steps and path down to the car when it is dark.

I don’t think that the RTC3 works with a poplock lever, it is a 3 position knob on the top of the fork leg. The current revs i have have poplock and I am not a fan so will be happy to see the back of it.

I got a quote from Loco a few months back so it’ll probablly be best for you to contact him through his website to get an accurate quote for what you want.

I have spoken to him before about this.

You can definately upgrade the damping on the Sektors to dual flow and RTC3.

I don’t know if it’d be possible to change the forks to Dual air or not but the new Revs are all solo air now.

    Vortex,

Take a look at http://www.securityforbikes.co.uk for your chain lock and anchor, you will probably not be able to get it today however you will get a far superior bit of kit for securing your bikes.

I only use my B&Q chain for locking my bike to my car now as my Pragmasis chain is to big to fit through the towing eye on the car.

If you have the adapter then you may as well give it a bash. I can’t get my head around how it would but it would be far better than attacking the drop out with a file. Would the calliper not be wider than the drop out anyway?

Didn’t get the email was simply asking a question, a simple misunderstanding of what was said earlier in the thread. Cheers for clearing it up Brant. Merry Christmas.
