    @Shackleton

If you are having no joy with TFT try Flotec https://www.flotecsuspension.co.uk/ they recently converted an air inline to an air IL for me.

Turnaround time and communication throughout was excellent.

I’m 174cm and ride a medium Mondraker Foxy from 2015.

It is a lot longer than my previous bike but i am beginning to get used to the extra length, it climbs really well and is super stable but does require a fair bit more user input to get it to manual and muscle through tight stuff. My general fitness is slowing me down more than the bike.

Have you had a look at the DVO topaz – is £375 over budget?

CRC have the 200×50 for £375 this is actually a 200×50/57 shock and is converted to 200×57 by removal of a travel reducing spacer in the air can.

I have a 200×57 Cane Creek double barrel air il that has just come back from flotech suspension last week (was an air in-line) that I had converted.

Trial fitted it to my new frame – mondraker foxy but it doesn’t fit.

My loss could be your gain. If you’d be interested in a used shock pop me an email on russellm_83@hotmail.com.

    Cheers,

did you keep with the 14 tooth & 12 tooth cogs or just go 12 12?

I have used the garage door bolts on my old door – they prevented an attempted brake in – the door ended up pretty bent out of shape but no one got in.
the can be a bit more faff to get into the door as it is a further 2 additional locks to undo.

How much you use the up and over door will depend on how much this bothers you.

Eagles Rams is getting a lot of coverage on Red zone just now available on Sky sports mix ch 121.

This is the first year in the decade or so I have been supporting the Rams that we have had a winning season. Hopefully they can pull something out the bag with this game.

Right then do I throw caution to the wind and scrap the plan of a magnum smash as I have some citra hops as well.

I could use citra at the end instead of magnum?

So plugging some numbers into the IBU calculator based on Aa of 9.8 if I add 12.5g at 60 mins from end then 25g at 10 mins from the end I should end up with an IBU of 30 – 35 depending on my target original gravity.

Not quite sure what my original gravity should be but vaguely recall 1.065 from my last brew but could be off with that.

Thanks for the replies all, the magnum hops I have, have an Alpha Acid of 9.8%. I have 100g so more than I need for this batch. Hopefully enough for 2 or 3 so I can figure out my technique and control over the process.

I wan to be able to produce a simple single malt single hops beer consistently before moving on to mor complex brews.

    Afternoon all,

I’m looking to get a brew on the go next week however am looking for some recipe advice.

It has been a while since i last brewed and was looking to follow the recipe provided with the 10L massive brewery kit which for me was 2.5kg of maris otter paired with magnum hops as asimple way of getting back into it.

Unfortunately my recipe says add 12.5g hops at start of the boil then “the rest at 5 minutes from the end” and i did not take a weight of the second bundle of hops when i made my first batch. From memory the bundle of hops was about 2-3 times the size of the initial hops but i would appreciate if anyone know what an accurate figure may be.

I’ve just been having a cruise round the interwebs and see that four4th have a number of bits from driver boards, led boards and lenses advertised at keen prices that may be source that could be explored.

Any of you know if it is still possible to get hold of the black cat tech buck driver boards?

I have a few of the lumicycle halogen conversions but am interested in upping a couple of the drivers to closer to 1A

The bottom taper of the head tube looks too small to be 56mm, you do get 44mm external cup headsets.

That looks to be a standard 1 1/8 external cup headset (EC34) (Hope Type 1 cup) for the top then a 44mm external cup headset (EC44) (Hope H cup) for the bottom giving you the 1.5 lower race.

I do not think these come as a standard headset from any manufacturer so some kind of pick and mix is going to be your best route.

If the upper section of the headset is OK you do not need to replace it to match the lower cup they are 2 independent units and can be treated as such.

Bike room transitioning into a spare room yeah, I thought the bike room was the current main bedroom.

Do you have any outside space or attic space you could utilize for storage of bikes?

Otherwise put the 2 posh bikes on the wall in the smaller bedroom with a couple of these pedal mounts and lock the commuter in the stairwell with a big chain.

Fantastic news, all the very best for the wedding and I hope you have an outstanding time on your honeymoon.

Eyebrows – I am told there are temporary tattoo ones that you can get that look fairly realistic. Well that was the route my cousin went down when he burnt his off with a lab experiment that went a little more boom than expected.

I didn’t think that the clutch mechanism on SRAM rear mechs is adjustable like the Shimano ones. It is simply just set as is.

Sky would be daft to chase everything down today, they should let Astana do that while they hold yellow. I think Bardet & AG2R will have another go today. Hopefully, it’ll be an exciting stage and we can see one of the other big team’s controls the inevitable breakaway.

[Edit] with Uran’s time penalty reversal I hope Cannondale team up with AG2R and go big today [/Edit]

They are not all that difficult to fit, I have fitted one to my Pivot mountain bike and one to my Giant road bike. Read the instructions, watch the video on the site, take your time and you’ll be right.

The fitting tool comes in handy should you need to replace the bearings down the line.

Does the SWA cable for the decking have to be taken off another circuit?

Could you not make things a bit easier for yourself and take it back to the consumer unit and put it on its own dedicated circuit?

You could then have it sized appropriately for the patio heater and any other consumers – lawnmower, strimmer, jetwash, laptop, projector etc.

Don’t buy parts from Activesport it is the trading name for Mark Antony bikes.
The issues you have experienced with your local bike shop will be nothing compared to that shyster.

I’d write to Extra and ask if they could supply you part numbers of the bit(s) you require, if you were unhappy with the service provided by one of their dealers inform them of this i’m sure they would be grateful of the feedback.

If you get details of the replacement parts required take that info to the shop that damaged the wheel and discuss your options – either they source you the parts through an Extra dealer of their choice or you source them and they reimburse you parts + any shipping expenses.

Whilst i agree none of the above should really be your responsibility it may be the quickest way to getting your wheel working properly.

Not voting today, went offshore for a 3 day trip last Friday and i’m still here.

So far this trip has caused me to miss my better half’s birthday (i suspect that may turn out to be expensive).
An afternoon out with work, my opportunity to vote and a dentist appointment with my daughter.
