But who completed it fastest? Is there a leaderboard?

I’d just concentrate on getting to the airport on time, the routes can be challenging at times, especially the New Joisy Turnpike.
Unless they’ve upgraded it since I was last there, Newark airport is a good replica of a 1970s works canteen, but at least you can relax and unwind before your red eye.

Well, flip me. They have a Colour of the Year!

Exciting stuff! Colour of the Year 2015 is Marsala.

A naturally robust and earthy wine red, Marsala enriches our minds, bodies and souls.

But does it make the trails come alive?

But, but, but – that’s more than 100%!!

Total is 300% – white is 100% red, 100% green and 100% blue.

Two bikes with 10 speed chains running on ‘9’ speed TA rings, both absolutely fine. 9 and 10 speed rings have exactly the same width teeth AFAIK.

I was hauling myself up the climb from Rylstone onto Barden Moor, saying “keep going, you can stop when you get to the gate”. At which point a pair of bloody walkers appeared and politely held the gate open for me. Bastards!

He’s done a job lot of work that Rui Costa. They’re like that in Columbia.

Whereas Mike Starbucks never really cut it in the pro peleton.

I do this all the time when out with the dog. He usually replies with something like “Bloody hell, did you see those bar ends?” or “A bit too much sag there, and I’m not talking about the forks”.

L’Equipe would be able to say ‘Sky finally win with panache’

I’m looking forward to the Sky press release

Team Sky today announced the signing of unknown young French rider Louis Panache. “He’s only 19” said Sir David Brailsford “but he shows a lot of promise and we’re confident we can win with him in the future”.

Stage 10 was a mountain top finish won by Froome. Don’t know where Degenkolb was supposed to be doing 40mph

Stage 5 finish was flat, and into a headwind to boot.

As for USB charging never something I’ve felt I needed on a bike. Even iphone batteries aren’t that cr*p.

Wireless charging pad on the bars so hipsters can re-charge their iWatch whilst riding their fixie to the cafe for an artisan latte? Seems to be the target market :-)

There are some people in that break to trouble the top 10

Talansky, Bardet and Rolland threatening Barguil’s place. So perhaps we’ll see Thomas and Barguil working together? :-)

Do you wear glasses? In my 40’s I went to the doctor complaining about sore eyes. She asked my age and occupation then, when she’d finished laughing, directed me to the nearest optician.

Froome COULD be being dragged along by the force field of an invisible alien spaceship, Sky haven’t produced any data to disprove it.

Interesting Porte and Rocha are in the break, suggests they wouldn’t have been able to hold on if in the peloton

Sorry, don’t follow the logic of that. 2 minutes up on a peleton they’re too slow to stay with?

Interesting situation – Porte and Roche in the 28 man breakaway which is currently 2’22” up on the peleton.

the idea that valverde works for anyone but himself is quite hilarious

If Valverde was in a solo breakaway he’d probably refuse to work with himself. Quintana and Valverde as joint leaders is the worst idea since Hinault and Lemond.

Offered to bleed a friends brakes. Syringe fitted to rear caliper, bucket fitted to front lever. Took me ages to remember that whilst I run my brakes Euro style, most people don’t.

I do a fair bit of fishing off rocks in Cardigan bay that sounds similar. Not beach casting, but you still need to cast, rather than chucking it over the side as per boat fishing. What properbikeco suggests is similar to what we use, you can actually cast quite a long way with something like that and the correct technique.
If you want to get decent stuff you can’t go far wrong with Shakespeare/Daiwa/Shimano. Tons of online angling shops cutting each other’s throats on price.
Don’t underestimate just how many little bits and pieces you need – weights, hooks, swivels, snap links etc – and it’s well worth getting some pre-made rigs like mackerel rigs and 2/3 hook flappers.

Made it back to the bunch… carrying a load of bottles for his team mates!

Hope they’re not as sticky as the one he got from the team car :-)

Go for a cheap kit to get you started, something like this. You can add extra line/lures/hook/swivels etc when you start using it.
You won’t be able to use the same rod for beach casting and boat fishing; it’ll either be too short for one or too long for the other, or both. You can get cheap boat rods for around the £15 mark and use the reel and tackle off the beach rod.
A tackle box is pretty much essential (you can use a cheap tool box from Aldi or something). You’ll be surprised at how much stuff you accumulate and how keen it is to entangle itself into a giant mess.
Whatever you do DON’T start with a multiplier reel unless you want to spend the majority of your time picking a bird’s nest apart.

    Michael ‘Chicken’ Rasmussen.

Michael Rasmussen was known for his care for detail when considering weight. With a low weight (60 kg) he was usually one of the lightest riders in his class. He was known for peeling off unnecessary stickers from his bike, not wearing the Livestrong wristband which was common among many Tour de France riders, due to the additional grams. He used to count each grain of rice before eating and had water with his breakfast cereal, instead of milk. He only carried one water bottle holder and his Colnago Extreme-C bike weighed 6.81 kg, only 10 g more than the minimum limit.

Inner Ring reporting that Vinokourov has told Nibali to find a new team for next year. I’m sure that will do wonders for his motivation.

The Paris Kiss photo was staged though.

Funnily enough, so was this one.

Sophie Merlo who took the pictures said: ‘They were just kissing and holding hands. I did not expect that reaction at all’

Totally unexpected, despite her posting this 5 days earlier
