First time i was married (when i was still a brickie) i only wore it when not working.

Second time round i’m not on site anymore and wear it all the time. It’s titanium and lovely 🙂

Above has been ridden for rooty/hilly/sandy xc duties as well as racing, and no sign of dropped chain yet (fingers crossed). Up to a 28t on the rear, not run out of gears yet when climbing (any steeper and i’ll get off and carry it!)

Popped my heart rate minitor on during yesterdays 10k, just to see what i was ticking over at.
Found it quite helpful as although i don’t know what bpm i should be aiming for when running, it was quite reassuring that after hills it was dropping down nicely in a similar way that it would after a climb on the road bike and i wasn’t bouncing off the rev limiter the whole way round. 🙂

Quite scary that running for 6 miles is sooo much harder work than 60 miles on the road bike.

Did the Tadley runners 10k yesterday. This was literally the first time i had run since the London British 10k last summer (bar 15 minutes around the block Wednesday night to see if trainers still fitted and to remind myself how to do it!)
Just dipped under an hour which i thought was ok for a 42yr old 13 1/2 stone bloke who NEVER runs.
Legs are a bit sore today, and i expect to be struggling with stairs tomorrow if last year is anything to go by. 😕
Just entered the Basingstoke half marathon in October so fear i may nedd to actually train a bit. 🙁

Up to 26th place. My boy @TweeterSagan did me proud yesterday, but i was let down by Chris Froomes puncture.

Are transfers/substitutions allowed, as i’ve got 3 blokes who don’t seem to want to come to the party.

Sprint on the cards today though, so i’m hoping for a Hutarovich-Sagan 1-2.

Different saddle on the Lynskey now, and Mavic open sports, different tape, tyres and longer stem on the Langster, but you get the idea 🙂

2 knobbers with no gears put a few to shame this weekend 😛
Hey Dr, what happened in the tent stays in the tent! 😯

Fair play to all the non-cyclists who dragged themselves over both days hills and through todays headwinds, YOU put us all to shame – chapeau! 🙂

Knocked a bit of rust off the old trowel this weekend.

Few changes since this, open sports and longer stem on it now……oh, and the playhouse has had a lick of paint too.

True, i only ever include Moors Valley as part of a 40 mile cx route i do from Broadstone and back. It’s good fun on a cx bike, especially hooning up behind blokes on full bouncers wobbling around 😉

Having been to Belgium pretty much every year since i was a kid, my advice would be to treat every set of traffic lights is a drag race and feel free to overtake/undertake at your will. 🙂
Oh, and the coppers carry whistles and guns. 😕

If on mtb or cx bike, pick up the castleman trailway at Broadstone Leisure Centre and follow this to Wimborne, then head to Canford Bottom and pick it up again at The Old Thatch pub and this will take you off road pretty much to 3 Legged Cross, then turn right to Moors Valley (not forgetting to do a couple of laps of the singletrack there) 🙂

Could be worse. This is the reason my trowel is rusty!!

Dislocated, end snapped off ulner, radius shattered, bone graft from hip, 9 months off work, career change due to injury, now won’t rotate more than 90 degrees, 10 years ago now numb most mornings.
Oh, broke the other elbow at the same time for good measure.

Thanks for the interest. 140 miles singlespeed in 2 days including the South Downs on day 2. It’s gonna hurt 😕

Too far south? Try this one for size. http://www.asthma.org.uk/get-involved/events/challenge-events/cycling/loch-to-loch-bike-ride-2012/

I don’t these days really. Ride it occasionally when i fancy a change from the road bikes. CX in the winter.

Why do i ride bikes? For fun, and because i’ve been bike mad since i was a kid, now more than ever.

Jurassic Beast sportive in the Purbecks. Hills, hills and more hills. Must be tough, they’ve set the gold time at 15mph! 😕

It does always shock me at work, when some of the people there don’t even know where some cities are in England, let alone how you would go about driving to them (some have never left Dorset!)

Not sure if it was because we drove around a fair bit when i was a kid going to MX races, but i’m pretty sure i could get myself to most towns in this country without a map.

Nearly all my riding is alone. Did 60 odd road miles on my own yesterday, its a nice chance to talk to yourself/daydream.

I prefer mountainbiking with others, but with everyone having kids and other commitments it just doesn’t happen very often.

If its in a 40 mile radius of here, just follow my nose and link bits together. If you ride enough you’ll soon know all the little roads (and potholes) in the area anyway.
Dodge big black clouds and try and get a tailwind home 🙂
If all else fails, aim for the sea and turn left or right depending on where i hit the coastline.
Heading out for 60 odd miles in a minute, no idea where i’ll end up, just make it up as i go along.
