Nottingham, but only if they’ve still got the ‘glam metal’ room at Rock City. If Rock Citys still there.

Discuss it with your chosen artist if you have one. If he/she is unwilling to design something for/with you seriously consider if he/she is the right person for you. If he is only willing to do whats on the wall or in a book, how good an artist do you think he is. If you do take a design along i would expect the artist to take it away, probably improve on it and at least alter it so that it fits/suits the shape of your body. Like all good artists, a good tattooist will want to create something, not copy any old thing.

Don’t be afraid to travel either, an extra £50 petrol money is worth it if theres no one local that you’re happy with.

Blimey, just re-read that and it sounds a bit preachy, sorry, just hate seeing people with average work when they could have something great.

Ripped the side out of a brand new transit with a dumper. 17 years old didn’t know how to drive, they told me to get in and try. oops.

Fell out of a skip into a drainage ditch (don’t ask).

Reversed works van into mums car on drive, half asleep, didn’t see it 2 ft behind me. Wheelspinning on spot for 30 seconds wondering why i wasn’t moving.

Probably give it a miss. Don’t wanna ruin the memories of all the times i’ve seen them before. Proper band.

Cheers, but a bit small for me. Ride a 56cm trek road bike and 16inch 456. So thinking 54cm cx bike? Could always buy a second hand complete as donor bike and sell the frame i suppose. Normal roadie gears and wheels i presume are needed.

Depends who built it. As with now, could be great, could be shocking. Get someone who knows what they’re looking at to go with you. I would have thought that any ground heave problems due to the dry summer in 76 would have surfaced by now. I quite like 70s places myself, solid if unspectacular.

Hawaii. Weather the same all year (hot, but not humid), speak English, week in waikiki for touristy stuff and shopping etc, then week on another island for beach and relaxing. Finish it off with short stop over in San Fran or LA on way home jobs a good’un.

    Shame we got divorced!

Having spent 4 days in cardiac ICU with my dad last week, i can only praise the effort and care the nurses and doctors took in trying to save him and the way they treated us during and after his death on Saturday night.

I’m sure A&E departments wouldn’t be so horrible if the staff didn’t have to put up with drunk / abusive / ungrateful folk most weekends. I’m sure 99% are trying their best to give a good service.

My service with bike related injuries has been mixed. 3 days nil by mouth because operations kept being cancelled wasn’t much fun, but i guess i had ‘put myself’ in hospital and i probably lost some weight which didn’t do me any harm.

    Sorry to here your news.
Bet all the advice about going out drinking and cavorting are REALLY helpful. Had a similar thing 7 or 8 years ago, messed me up for a bit, but new family now.
Some pretty decent advice on here (except boozing obviously).
If you’re in the south at all, let me know ’cause there’s plenty of good riding down here, i need updating on the music scene (guessing by the user name) and my missus can knock up some decent veggie grub.

Completely destroyed mine 6 years ago, broke end off ulner, radius in bits, bone graft etc. 50% roation (after a few years even wiping yer backside with the wrong hand feels natural!), hurts most days and numb most mornings. Kinda resigned to it now, so just got a good wrist support that isn’t too restrictive when riding (technology in motion can supply off the peg or custom fit) and get on with it. Stopped bmx to minimize crashes, took up mtbing because i thought it might be safer (hmm). Doesn’t cure problem, just hopefully lessens the chances of doing it again.

Mine with crossmax’s, pike airs, e 13 drs and vice stem weighs about 30lb.
Forks are stuck at 140mm (non u-turn), little bit vague on steep slow climbs, but with weight forward its ok. Quick enough for me on way back down.
Would be nice if it was lighter, but not £1000 nice, so no Ti for me.

Am i kidding myself that if i get a 29er scandal i’ll become a climbing god? Have a feeling its probably just me being a fat biffer.

P.S. I could sort that pointing out for a small fee (well enough for a new bike anyway)

Also thinking of going down this route.

How do 29ers size up? I’m running a 16" 456, will it be the same size 29er inbred?

What sort of weight are carbon forked rigid inbreds coming in at?

If its an OCD type thing, you could try:

The OCD Workbook (Hyman & Pedrick)
Understanding Obsessions and Compulsions (Dr Frank Tallis)
Overcoming Obsesive Compulsive Disorder (Veale & Wilson)

    All pretty good for CBT

    All do a different job.

Been bearded on and off for a few years. Bit late to join in now, but particularly hairy and scruffy at moment as its too cold to shave hair or beard. The words beard and lecturer probably go together anyway so no problem at work.

Have sported a varied combination of beards, goatees, huge burns, oddly coloured hair, dreads and mohicans over the years, so looking like a scruffy odd ball is kinda normal.

No photos, but 456 with reasonable spec, trek road bike, bmx race bike, old school e-stay alpinestars and a load of odd bits.

MX bike at 3 years old(1973, yikes), bmx from ’82 till now, alpinestars e-stay in 90ish (still in mums garage, all original bits if anyone wants it for a decent price). Mostly ignored mountain bikes from 91-2003 until i smashed myself too much bmxing and needed something hmm ‘safe’ to do instead. Not really ‘in’ to mtbing like i was with bmx. Got a road bike too.

30lb give or take a little

456, pike airs, crossmax’s, heavy stem, xt cranks and deore bits.

light enough, would be nice if it was less, but if i wanted a light bike i wouldn’t have got a steel frame with big forks.

amo, I’m not doing this because i can’t handle a real job, I’m doing it because i can’t handle a bike properly. Too many broken bones = no more building.
