Get a fitting then buy something really nice secondhand and tune it into your position.

£1k secondhand buys a LOT of bike.

I seem to have given up both at the moment and just run or race cx.

Cold and wet runs take an hour and leave me as knackered as 3 hours on the road bike and i dont get cold feet or hands.
Training with a running club makes it a solid date in the diary too.

Rode my mtb a couple of times last year as i mostly rode on the road but going to try getting back on it a bit more this year.

23 minutes, but that was a while ago so should be a minute or two quicker now. 1/4 marathon 54 mins, 1/2 marathon under 2 hours.

Training a fair bit so should beat all of those in the next month or two.

    Running is great.

    Parenthood.

Less free time = make the most of your available riding hours = road bike with less driving, faffing about and cleaning.

8 feet rusty? That’s a bit of an over-order no. Or did you have secret plans for it , “yes of course I need all this darling”

Yeah, only needed 2 and a little bit so plenty of the 3rd length left over.

Professionally i’ve got loads of potential/current brickies to train and assess.

Personally a new man cave now my kitchen alterations have finally concluded.
Hmm, i can see a future career in bike shed/man cave erection in the future.

Planning for my cave will begin in the new year, and i’ll start building it as soon as i can afford some materials.
More likely to be standard brick/block cavity work without 10 tonnes of steel in the roof, but then it’s only going in my back garden to replace the existing brick shed.
Needs to store 5 bikes, have room for rollers/turbo, be weather and cold proof, have electric for music and tools, have storage for all bike kit and clothing and maybe have room for a sofa. Got 8 feet of work surface left over from my recent kitchen build so that’ll probably squeeze in somewhere.

Photos will obviously be posted for your amusement 🙂

Both at different ends of the spectrum really.
My experience of BMCs is that they are VERY stiff which is presumably the opposite effect the Van Nic is trying to give.

If you want a direct, fast but possibly harsh ride try the BMC, for a more relaxed smooth ride go the Van Nic.

Just my opinion obviously. Just get the one you want to get out the shed and ride the most.

P.S. who thought it was a great idea to move the 500GP from Farleigh to Hawkstone and let the Belgians play in the sand?

Thorpe, Nicoll and the other Brits must have had the right hump.

A glorious but sad picture allround, what with Andre ending up in a wheelchair a couple of years later.

Pretty much sums up my teenage years though, travelling around Britain and Europe with my parents every weekend. 🙂

Yep, rode in the era when it was still a sport worth watching.

Really miss the yearly trips to Namur and Luxembourg every August. (CX world cup race at the Citadelle this weekend).

Currently using Bell, Kask, Limar and Uvex…um i may have too many helmets.

To be fair Hampshire is a pretty varied county.

Big difference from the ‘posh’ towns up near Surrey and somewhere like Portsmouth or Southampton or the more remote ‘bumpkin’ areas.

Even terrain can be vastly different, going from the Swinley type wooded trails to open chalk hills to sandy forest down near Ringwood/New Forest.

I grew up in a hamlet in the Bourne Valley in North Hampshire and even they have changed massively in the last 20 years with new money/London rejects moving in and swamping the villages. If i go home now i barely recognise anyone 🙁

Hampshire’s great because its my home county. I now however live in Dorset which is better for riding and has a better seaside : )

Manchester is miles away, cold and rainy so unless you have family and friends keeping you there, come on down and dont forget to bring your sunglasses and suntan lotion ; )

Nice film, not convinced about the lairy kit though, escpecially the gopping knee warmers.
Different strokes for different folks i guess.

Couldn’t be much further from Burnley (in UK), i’m in Poole.

No offense taken, but the missuse/flippant use of the term does no favours for the image, funding and treatment availability for what is a horrible illness to be involved with.

I’ve upset people before on here on this subject which isn’t the intention, but i’d be doing myself and my friends at OCD-UK a disservice if i didn’t reply.

p.s, my CDs are alphabetical for artist and chronological upon release date for each artist. This is not related to my OCD as it doesn’t bother me mentally, it just makes them easier to find when i want to listen to them 🙂

Unless it’s causing you severe anxiety or panic then it’s just you being fussy and nothing to do with the horrible spiteful mental illness that is OCD.
