Mike Patten weeing in his shoe and drinking it at FNM show was mildly surprising, if not totally out of character.

The volume and lights of my bloody valentine years ago and the noise and videos of a neurosis show were unexpected treats.

Anyone else out in the Purbecks tomorrow (Sunday)? Taking a mate out around here for first time.

I think my missus and workmates would agree that i don’t need to cycle to get em going. Fart for England i could. Its all about power , control, volume and odour, there’s an art to it.

Reading festival 1992 Sunday night slept in mates metro, second coldest nights ‘sleep’ ever. Coldest was stone bench in Weston super mud on bonfire night (beach race weekend) in the late 80s.

Is this still a go-er? What sort of numbers are expected?

Beautiful views from nine barrow tonight. Hats off to the boys on the tandem who climbed Franks tank with barely a dab. Also well done Rich from Ride for landing on yer head two weeks in a row, good effort.

The singletrack in the woods at Old Harry is easy enough to find. Only takes a couple of minutes to go through, but its a giggle. Not sure if you’re officially ‘allowed’ to ride it.

From where i’m looking on the south coast, anywhere north of London is pretty north to me.

Not that good, uphill cant unclip crash action. Theres nothing like rolling around in a gorse bush in the dark with a bike on top of you.

Rode / crashed on some of the route last night.

It is all nice and dry at the moment, if anything a bit too sandy. Got two punctures last night from thorns, so don’t forget some spare tubes.

vd – went up Franks Tank, and it didn’t seem that mental, although obviously not as good as going down. It was certainly the easiest climb we did last night.

    Done a lot of work around that way, seemed to spent a lot of days as a kid running round danebury rings too. Not from in town, village boy through and through (Bourne valley}

Wheres the good bike shop. You talking about Stonehenge near the station? Haven’t been there much since leaving college in ’90.
Wilton? worked at wilton house when my firm were re-doing the roof and stuff in the late 80’s when i was an apprentice.

Agreed, lovely city, had many good nights at the arts centre / church.

Dunno if Rockley Park caravan park is open yet, should be after easter. Its in Upton, 10/15 mins drive from sandbanks and could be reasonable value.

If you stay Corfe side, you can park in the National Trust car park near shell bay restaurant (where i had my wedding do, by the way) on the other end of the ferry. If you want to meet everyone pre-ride, get the ferry over and its 5 mins ride past the posh houses.

Not sure, its at home. Short though, i’ve got a bunch of spacers under stem. Better than too long i suppose.

    Trainers £100
    Jeans £80
    £800+ on a bmx a little uneccesary
    £60 dancing shoes, don’t ask

Oh nearly forgot, how much for a room full of cd’s and vinyl

Rode big chunks of the route yesterday and it is in fine condition, unlike myself who felt like crap and nearly ralfed up. All we need to do now is book the same weather for next month.

For non locals, the ferry is only £1.60 return, and the last one home is 11ish (in case anyone ends up ‘stuck’ in the pub.)

Which way are you planning on going along 9 barrow? towards Swanage or Corfe? Are you going up or down 5 spoke, rooty or that ‘orrible rocky thing down Swanage end that i cant remember the name of?

Franks tank is the descent / climb from the top of the golf course down to the tank, funnily enough with frank on it, in rempstone forest. Bit rocky in places, but a must do on most decents rides over that way (as long as its not too wet)

Best band seen live would be a bit tricky. Where to start – kyuss, quicksand, early tool, soundgarden (badmotorfinger era), fugazi, slayer, bad brains, bosstones, clutch, weezer, propagandhi, bad religion, helmet, not nirvana, rollins, shelter, leatherface, billy bragg, buffalo tom….this could go on all night.

goes off to plug in record player.

What it needs to finish it off is spraying with hammerite. Wouldn’t want it getting nicked.

You could pay me to build it. Whatever the hourly rate it would cost a fortune as i have no idea what i’m doing with spanners and bikes. If i ever finished it someone would actually have to ride it, and no one actually rides bikes do they?

The best guys for routes and ride leading would be the fellas from Ride Cycleworks who run rides over there every week of the year. If its a Saturday i guess they’ll be working though.

If the numbers get high, all stopping in one place for food/drink could be tricky, especially if its wet. No problem in dry as plenty of big pub gardens.

Corfe’s really not very far from ferry, especially on an all dayer. For non-locals it would be a nice place for a stop as its got some decent places for food/drink and a certain WOW factor if you haven’t been there before. I guess you take castles a bit for granted when you see them every week.

The climb from their back up to the ridge will sort a few out too, me included, especially with a belly full of cake.

The amount of people riding regularly down here (groups of 20-50 some summers evenings), i can’t believe there aren’t more of them on here.

Do i live in Sandbanks. Yeah right!! If i had that much money i wouldn’t be lurking about on here for company, i’d rent some in. Rusty trowels don’t earn you enough to buy much down here.
