I'm thinking Brown suede San Marco Regal saddle with Brooks leather tape in a few weeks time.

Believe me, there's nothing pro looking about it with me on it. 😀

To stop the middle age spread, and for when i can't be bothered to get dirty 🙂 a few sportives, but nothing serious.

Mostly just because i've wanted something this nice for ages but haven't been able to justify the expense.

First ride today, only a pootle as i've been ill all weekend.

    First impressions – Phwoar!

    – Bike fit computer set up thing is pretty damn good (it feels bang on for size and fit)
    – Liking the campag clicky shifting
    – The brake pads on my old road bike must have been crap
    – Copmact is definetely more suited to me 😕
    – The saddle might need swapping

You don't just pull them out, you have to have the cone shaped adaptors for each side to get the width for the fork dropouts. I've got some, but i wanna keep them incase i go back to 20mm somewhen.

So much choice these days, compared to 15 years ago. Most modern stuff is pretty light and strong so the days of 40lb street bikes are thankfully gone. Assuming you aren't gonna ride flatland (too many hours on the bike needed), then as said above, 20/20.5 inch tt for tech street/park or if you are short, and 21/21+ for trails/park. 1/2 inch on bmx frames makes a much bigger difference than on mtb.

I currently ride a 21.75 tt brew race frame, but if you want to run pegs, then probably best to avoid race bikes as the dropouts aren't really up to the abuse – a steel one should be fine for trails/dj though unless you are particularly heavy handed.

I've got a 21 inch tt S&M next gen Holmes frame sat in the van doing nothing if you want something strong and not especially light for a small fee.

The frame's mine, but the rest is being changed. Campag Chorus Carbon 11 groupset, fulcrum wheels, Ritchey kit. Happy birthday 😛

I still use a 28 yr old red anodised dust cap on my bmx from my first bmx (82 pro star mx1). Also some 15 ish year old black flies yellow lensed glasses.

Brake pads that wear out after 1 ride. Grinding gears in the winter. Cleaning my bike off – may drive me to the darkside permanently. Getting scratched up by gorse bushes. Not being fit or light enough. The cost of parts (chainrings – come on, how much!). Walkers – well not all of them. Unreliable lights. Getting sweaty on commute. Lack of decent roads from Dorset to Wales……and breath.

I had a Y reg (82/83) Mk 1 XR2 and it was fantastic, if a bit pricey for the front tyres it wrecked. Sadly demised into a load of concrete posts and a tree. 😥

Is there any parking at the cricket club in Wherwell MM? Haven't been there since playing table tennis there 20 years ago.

On a bike related point, i watched the tour de france in Wherwell when it came through in the 90s. Just up the hill and round the corner from the pub.

'Hampshire doesn't welcome riffraff' too right, it's so fussy that i had to leave. If i can sneak back over the border then i'll be there.

Barnstaple to here isn't that far really, but the roads are rubbish. Traffic shouldn't be that bad though this time of year, especially in that direction.
