This is a medium long set up for 5"10 short legged monkey armed bloke.

Got one, but not tried mounting it anywhere yet. Was thinking of strapping it to camelbak straps somehow.

My 'ideal' frame size is a bizarre 54cm seat tube and 58cm top tube, hence the medium long and long stem.

Exactly Andy, it's so unfair the conditions some of us have to ride in – DUST! SUN! SEASIDE!! GOOD COMPANY!! It wasn't like this in the old days, grumble grumble …

Dunno, 31" ish i think. Short legs, monkey arms. Where are you getting it from, get fitted if it's your first road bike, i was surprised how wrongly i had my old one set up when i got a proper fitting.

Really dusty and the sand is pretty deep in places this time of year – but yeah, lovely. 🙂

I'm 5'10" with short legs and long arms and ride a medium long Lynskey Cooper with a 120mm stem if that helps. I ride a 18" bmc mountain bike and used to have a 16" 456 just to confuse matters.

Sunny East Dorset. 1 1/2 hrs hours drive or train to London if you must, enough work, Purbecks, big riding scene, seaside, new forest for family camping, cream teas etc.

There's a reason loads of people come here as soon as the sun comes out :-).

I went from a 456 with 140mm pikes to a BMC aluminium race hardtail with 100mm rebas and dropped about 5lbs in weight. In hindsight, something in the middle would be better.
The 456 was a bit porky and the bmc is harsh to say the least. Probably looking to swap the frame for something more forgiving, even if it adds a pound. Don't miss the 40mm of travel, the dual and bash or the short stem. Unless you live somewhere really steep or are a nutter, more than 120mm and 27lb'ish is a bit overkill imo.

Main concern was whether just washing the bathroom stuff off and bunging my clothes in the washing machine with our other washing was sufficient/a crap idea. Also i hoovered the mess up before i read that i shouldn't have, should i lob the hoover?

I kind of presume i've been in contact with plenty of the stuff over the years as i started my brickie apprenticeship in 1986 and have done loads of refurbs, i was more worried about the kids.

I feel a right numpty, as i teach H&S and COSHH stuff at work, but it was too late to go back once it had started to come out.
