    Yes
But i have chosen to work today as the only person being inconvenienced by me having the day off would have been me.
Everyone in our department is in work today (FE College).

Public sector lay about apparently 🙂

Former bricklayer (best avoided in the current climate) and currently FE construction Lecturer and NVQ assessor.

I’m seriously into it, but not seriously doing it. Not enough time or will power.

I’d be going for the bitza approach at that price.
Discounted Groupset (veloce is good value and it HAS to be campag obviously!) and second hand bits (stem, bars, seat post, saddle etc), then either something like that Beone frame or a secondhander and you should still have enough left for something reasonable wheel wise.
Much more interesting than an off the peg offering at that price (unless you can pick up a real bargain somewhere).

90 minutes from Andover to Reading MM!? Blimey, are you going by horse and cart!?
    😕

Beone are dutch and sponsor a lower ranked pro team over there and a team in the cx world cups, so i think they know their stuff.

‘Plastic guards fit all frames and will cost you 20’ – not quite all frames! Cant get anything on my Lynskey Cooper (apparently it doesn’t rain in Tennessee!) as there is a lug thing on the brake stay and the clearance is super tight.

    4 rideable ones

    Lynskey Cooper ti road bike
    slot drop out inbred
cheap ebay Graham Weigh cx bike
Brew pro xl BMX race bike

plenty of other bits and pieces knocking about, but not all the right ones to put a full rideable bike together.

More than i used to. Usually while descending, sprinting and when sitting on the wheel of little blokes 😀

3T Ergonovas on the road at the moment, Raceface cadence on the cx.

    40 something wheezer eh?

You’ll be in good company here then 🙂

Just take your gears off your bike and express some extreme political/religious view and you’ll be right at home.

Me (41) and my work mate (48) have wheelie contests when we ride to work together – in shirts and ties 🙂

He wins as he used to be a red hot motocrosser.

No, none of my business (unless it was something i’d organised).
I rode bmx street/park/trails for years without one so havent got a high horse to get on.
Used to be involved in a BMX race club and had to tell a few then, but that was more a club rule/insurance thing.
These days i’m more likely to just mutter to myself :-).

It feels pretty weird to not wear one now on the odd occasion i ride to work/drop the van at the garage and forget to bring one.

took our kids to the local one down the pub. 4 yr old liked the sight not the sound so watched through pub window, 20 month old was too scared.
Highlight was when a couple of rougue ones escaped and went off on the floor in the crowd 😯

Look forward to seeing it covered in mud tomorrow 🙂

p.s. what was the point of me building you a shed and then building it on the kitchen table 🙄

Did my first one with Mulletus Maximus on Sunday in Basingstoke. Forced out with a blow out (ripped sidewall!) on the second lap, but enjoyed the push and shove of the first lap.
Glad the Vets were in with the Juniors and Women as the field was bigger (easier to hide). Pleasantly surprised how many were still behind me when i went out.
Race no. 2 in Reading this weekend.

p.s. @ dobo – MM is racing in GWR league in Swindon tonight.

So are 30mm CX Pros only good for mud or will the be fine for a grassy field on Sunday? I’m planning on replacing the 38mm marathon cross tyres on the bike at the moment which i’m guessing are a little heavy.

I managed a sub 1hr 10k last year on no training and you know what a fat knacker i am! 🙂

I’ll bring my trainers up at the weekend and we can go for a quick spin around the block Friday night if you want.
