I worked a couple of Sat/Sun mornings here, but Boss tells me to tot up the hours at the corresponding overtime rate (x1.3/hr for first 2hrs weekdays, then x1.5/hr, x1.5 Sat & x2 Sun), then take them off as half/full days to suit. Wont let me build up to more than 3 days though.
3 biking dyas for summer is how I see it. 😉
I’d normally work over to suit load anyway, but my boss is fair & is flexible. If I’m running CFD I’ll gladly pop in to check/reset in the evening, as I live close. I do whats needed to fulfill my role. If I couldnt I’d would say something.
What pisses me off is those that religiously start & finish on the buzzer, then complain cos I can come in a bit late & they cant.

    Nant-y-Arian is great.
Then drive North to CyB, but stop off & do the MachX.

All this aside, should I buy a Ti “bike for life” now or wait ?

Never put lids on our two. Tipped the head forward too much, & they are (should) be held in with a 5-point harness in case the trailer goes over. Ours did once, little one just dangling there, not a scratch. I got ours from Germany, via Ebay. Is very light, made from alloy tubing. It has given sterling service. It had 20″ wheels. Avoid anything smaller, bigger wheels roll better over bumps. I always fancied putting some 26″ on ours, but it would have ridden too high. 🙂
If you get a 20″ wheel trailer, just buy some nice big BMX ramp / flatland tyres & run them about 20psi. Thats all the suspension they need. 13 miles a day is a lot though. We used to do about 7. I really miss towing our two. They’re 5 & 3 now, & a hefty weight to haul around. I really wanted to make an Xtracycle but they love to ride their own bikes to school now. 😐

Ergon grips had the most stupidly OTT packaging I’ve ever seen. Actually had a specially machined plastic shaft, & some posh stainless button heads to hold one of the grips. My workmates couldn’t believe it.

Given what I’ve hoodwinked the Wife in to thinking is 8″, my Revs must have 350mm of travel. 😉
    Enjoy.

Keen to do something simillar for my eldest, let me know how you get on if you will. Like the idea for the cranks. Do you think 140mm is about right then ? I figure Islabikes got it right, so might follow what they do..

Sorry to be a parrot but Lezyne Alloy Drive here also. Even gets my road bike tyres up to 90-100psi. After wasting god knows how much on pumps its just the business. Would buy another without a thought.

My Inbred. 470mm (29er) forks. Rides great. Only recently gone rigid. Felt too low at the front with 440mm rigids. Has lifted the front nicely, & less weight over the front has improved the ride. Also swapped to a std dia stem & carbon bar. Nice big 2.5 tyre next… 😉

Christ, they’ve gone up. Think we paid £139 about 14 months ago, for my eldest. Its going to his younger brother soon so we’ll get the use out of it. Luckily the eldest is big enough for the small Bein 20.

For what its worth, on holiday with four other family’s last summer, my lads two Isla’s were very much the favourite of all the bikes there. (Ridgeback & a few cheapo bikes).

I wouldn’t believe all the stuff about small controls. The brake lever on his Rothan is the same size as the ones on my FSR!

The one on my lads is loads smaller. Bar dia too, so they have smaller dia grips to fit smaller hands.

Currently 2.35 Nev & Blue Groove combo, & 2.1 SB8’s when the trails dry out. Might try tubeless & 2.35 SB8’s for summer.

Also, if I go rigid, is there any advantage in swapping my O/S Thomson stem & EA70’s for their non O/S counterparts, possibly carbon bars ? (Thinking this might be a bit more flexible?)

    Big jump that, 22-36.
How often do you really need 22t ? 24 might be better.

Up at 5:15 for a run. Done kids lunches, just about to take the wife a cuppa. Its pretty normal to be up at this hour isnt it ? Love the quiet time in the early morning.

Wouldnt call my Inbred light, but it rides great.
    Why 38/19 ?
32/16 will save you over 30grams.

Being a Sanderson, this thread needs a pic for me to drool over. 😛

Thinking back about 6yrs, we used to order up to 4, even 5pm & it would be here next morning. What has changed in that time ? I know CRC have grown but I guess RM have got worse in that time. Very sad.
My LBS, Swinnertons on Cannock Chase, wanted £74.99 for the new Hex last Sunday. Paid £47 on CRC. Guess I’ll just have to wait.

Dual-fuel as in gas & electric ? Or posh Aga things ? Dont think ours was a lot. £300ish rings a bell ? I think its made by Belling. The old one was a built in, so I took out the whole unit & chopped the worktop. Comet or somewhere like Tylers perhaps…?

Not ridden my FS since the Autumn. Havent missed it. Struggling to see how it fits in. Had one decent outing last year that probably wouldnt have enjoyed as much on the ht, (MachX & CyB).

Tinkering with the idea of running one frame & 3 sets of wheels – geared slicks, geared mtb & SS. Frame (sliding Inbred) has mech mount & sliding dropouts. If I set it up as 1×9, I figure I could leave the mech/cable/shifter & a longer chain ready to go on, with the geared wheels. If I use a matchmaker shifter pod mount it should only take a few mins to swap to geared…anyone done anything like this ? Need gears mainly for commuting, few tripes to Wales.

Dont worry your pretty little working class head about it – it wasn’t a grammatical error, just a factual one.

Virgin Media’s cable BB is pretty good (for me).
Ours is 20mb. Regularly get download speeds (legal of course) of over 1meg a second these days. They do 50mb but cant say we need it that fast. And its expensive.

    I had a Giro Xen & a £28 Giro Encinal.
Never liked the Xen, was too hot.
Still have the Encinal 8yrs on, as CRC still sell the pads. Its still my lid of choice. Xen is better made though, nice finish etc.

    Thanks for replies all.
Borrowed a caddy & had a look on another pc.
All files etc, had been backed up by VirginMedia’s back-Up service. (Yes, it actually worked!) But just wanted to check the drive in case I’d missed something.
    Entire \Windows\System32\Config\ folder was missing.
So copied the \Windows\Repair folder from the same dive, & re-named as \Config. Also had to rename System.bak as just System.
Re-booted & it came on eventually, after 20 mins of disk checking etc.
    But no wi-fi?
Tried to re-install OS from the hidden partition with “CTRL” & “F11” but seems the OS partition has been corrupted.
So need to get a new copy of XP.
Might pop in a ne HDD to be on the safe side also. No idea why it threw a wobbly. Its about 5yrs old & has never skipped a beat.
    Thanks again for your help.

Its not just DX, HK customs has a big backlog apparently, +1week for most stuff coming out of HK until its cleared & you can bet that wont be till after xmas.
And the first couple of times I ordered it was by credit card, only on recent orders have I used paypal. Customer service is good, given they are so far away. On the occasion I had a problem my replacement was posted the day I emailed a scan of the post-office receipt for the returned item here.
If your ordering a torch I can recomend the SKU12060 5-mode. I’ve had two in use for nearly 2 years, & mates have them also with no problems. Problem I had was with the 3-mode one.
