Was out yesterday, may try and sneak a ride in this afternoon and out at Llandegla on 30th. Maybe more if I allow the wife to go Xmas shopping

So I have just this week made the swap from SLX to zee. I like my slx brakes but they felt a bit binary to me, either all on or off. Certainly coming from my old hope tech2 m4’s. Which I loved great feel and modulation. After taking the sees out for a spin yesterday they feel great, nice modulation. Loads of power if you give them a tug but so much more sensitive than the slx. At the end of the day I don’t think shimano make a bad brake nowadays, but for me I think the zee is worth the extra money.

Im really sorry to hea about this. But if my experience of the police is anything to go buy you wont hear anything from them. I got taken for a set of £400 forks by a known and convicted scammer who scammed me and others whilst und electronic tag for the same reason. I had to go to my local police station and gie a statement. I chased 3 times and never got a reply. I have lost all faith in the system. But you can bet your B***s to a barn dance if I so much as tried anything dodgy they would through the book at me.

Ebay compounds the problem. I wont be using them anymore.

Either someone is pulling his plonker or is he bidding his own stuff up! Brand new account with 0 feedback is winning two of his bikes. The new accounts biddign activity is 73% on the vendors account!

Looks dodgy as hell from every angle. But still not as dodgy as the steerer/stem!

Not had a CRC voucher for ages now. Probably dont feel the need to hand them out. I still use them regardless as i suspect many others do!

It was a great event, not completely ruined by the helmet that stole the road markings. Some of the markings off road were not great, but getting a little lost is all part of the fun. However a GPX route would be advisable next time!!! I have only just recovered now! I did the long route, but my distance was cut well short of whats quoted on that site thanks to getting hopelessly lost and having to head home. Really enjoyable event, well run. Proud of my finisher sticker and T-shirt. Thanks Mean and Dirty/Slam69

Guys i’m not trying just to moan. Albeit i am allowing myself to be led down that path. I was genuinely only after some advice as to how to get a quick answer. I wont post in the thread again, as its clear some people want to troll. its fine, its a tyre…I wont lose any sleep over it. I will pop into my local shop and pick one up over the next few days. Will send the tyre back when the eventually bother to read their emails. Lesson learned for me, I hope planet X sort themselves out, they have a great range of products and bikes. I guess they are so successful their infrastructure cant cope.

Is that asking to much or are you used to such disappointment in life that you are numb to it?
No, just pragmatic rather than a moaning winger. I’d respond in kind to your post and be more insulting, insinuating that you really need to get out more and suffer some actual dissapointments if getting the wrong tyre size even registers on your scale of disspaointing life events, but I’m not that nasty.

Back to my usual pragmatic self; if it’s as cut and dried as they sent out something that you didn’t order, then what are you expecting them to argue about? On a related note, they’ve never deducted the postage costs from anything I’ve returned even if it’s been returned as it didn’t fit.

I would say that someone trolling for arguments is necessarily a ‘Pragmatic person’ Neither would i suggest that suggesting something as insignificant as an order cock up is a major life disappointment is particularly pragmatic.

If you read through my posts again, I am not expecting an argument with them over anything. Its a ‘Cut n Dry’ cock up. Like I have said 3 times, i get that these things happen. However given the track record and the fact they clearly state (regardless is you have or have not been charged it) that returns for credit will be charged £3.50 postage. Now given that they can’t pick up the phones, or reply to an email. I think its reasonable for me to want something in writing prior to returning the incorrect item.

Really if you have nothing constructive to say then the pragmatic man in you would probably think…I’ll move on to the next thread.

Northwind, i actually have done some warehouse picking work in a book warehouse of all places (back in my youth). Like i said, i don’t have a problem with orders being miss-picked. These things happen its hardly the end of the world, my kids will still eat, i will still sleep so its not all that bad. :D

But its how problems are dealt with that where i have an issue. CRC, Wiggle, Merlin, Discount-bikes.de have over the years all been flawless. They are not mistake free. However the respond quickly.

I don’t think I am being Unreasonable am I. Happy to accept I am a little impatient, I just want some kind of response.

then return the incorrect item when/if they respond.
Just stick it in the post, what else are you expecting them to say i their reponse other than “here’s a collect+ lable, send it back”. Seem’s you’re in a hurry, but not actualy prepared to post the wong tyre back and get it resolved quickly and would rather have a moan about it?

I don’t want to return it until I have acknowledgement that they are at fault, otherwise i will have the collect+ postage fee deducted from my credit (see below from their returns policy) i dont want to moan about anything, i was asking for advice as to how to quickly get a response. Judging by the amount of moaning threads on here i presumed there would be some experience of how to get some kind of response…Perhaps an email address that someone actually looks at. When i ordered the tyre (and other bits) on the 26th I thought I had left enough time being as i didn’t need to use it until the 7th…

So smart arse, i was just hoping for confirmation that yes they have dropped the ball please collect + it and we will stomach the cost. oh and the correct tyre will be with you in 3 days. Is that asking to much or are you used to such disappointment in life that you are numb to it?

You will be provided with a receipt as your proof of return, and a tracking number to enable you to track the progress of your return. The receipt is proof of postage, so keep it safe. If using Collect+ Refund, there will be £3.50 deducted from your refund to cover the postage costs incurred unless we are at fault for the return (e.g. if the product is damaged or not as described).

To be honest I normally buy things from LBS or CRC, trouble is my LBS is in the middle of town and parking is a nightmare. I was also busy with work so online made sense. I understand people thinking ‘give them a chance’ but no one answers the phones or even responds to an email which is pretty poor given they are an Online (predominately) company. I think I will nip into the LBS over the next few days and buy one, then return the incorrect item when/if they respond.

Barcode system? the tyre was wrapped in sellotape!!! no bar-codes, i just presumed it had been picked in a rush or shelved incorrectly.

Am i wrong in thinking a week for an email response is not acceptable? I would just return the tyre, but i will have to pay for postage (or have i got this wrong?) until i get acknowledgement of the mistake?

I know, perhaps its the endless other threads and the fact i have heard nothing and teh fact no one answers the phone. I have zero confidence. I dont want to be a massive moaner. I should of stuck with CRC.

I get that it sounds impatient, but to be honest i think i am more of a Mr. Stupid for thinking it would be a quick fix.

They say it’s too linear for all single pivots as I understand it, apparently all large volume cans have the problem. To be honest I am really happy with it and wouldn’t really call it linear.

That’s lucky… I was going to get a debonair for my 5! As they aren’t in stock I went for the more expensive CCDB air CS.

A guy on here has fitted a debonair to his five… Might be worth seeing what he says about it.

Standard items bought from their shop I have always had in a couple of days, but they have never EVER replied to any email I have sent them regarding something bespoke or custom! They have a Facebook page my questions were deleted from but they have replied to others posts on there so it maybe just me

I am 85kg, think I am running at 85psi, will need kt double check later. I have set rebound up the usual way. Not touched the compression dial yet. Will have a play later today, I agree with much of the above, I think these are going to Be the best forks I will have owned, once bedded in.

Pretty happy with mine, just used them for 1 ride, seem reasonably plush, but suffering a little from new fork stiction a little. I think once they loosen up a little they will be sweet. At the moment they are nowhere near as slick as my old xfusion slants. But then they were tuned and worn in.

How have people set theirs up? Rebound, sag, psi by rider weight etc.?

I am pretty sure these are going to run super sweet one run in properly.

I have just done this conversion myself. You pop the end caps off fit new ones, insert 10mm qr and fit to bike. The axle on the evo’s is 10mm anyway. You are oly changing the end cups and fraud attachment point

Just for the record, if you purchased through an ‘auction’ and not buy it now distance selling regs do not apply. Albeit eBay and paypal offers different protection.

Jeez, agree with the above, far too many nightmare stories for me. I wont be ordering from PX again. I understand they are busy and isolated cases etc. etc. but there are far too many instances of things going wrong. The making of a good company is not what they sell, or how much they charge. Its how they deal with things when it goes wrong.

Good luck mrjmt, i have a feeling this is not the final chapter in the story.

I am just about to order one in 190×51 from alltricks.com again. Need something lighter than my CCDB, which is proving overkill in terms of weight!

They are 319 eur plus 9 eur delivery for debonair. Which is going to be about £260 delivered. Bargain

No Mate, sadly not. i purchased a new chain. The General lee converter was also 42t So would be different to the T-rex

Like i said earlier i had the same problem when fitting a general lee to my old Canyon

When i fitted a new chain the problem went away, basically my chain length was much too short.

I had this exact same problem last year, I think I later discovered my chain was too short and fitting a new chain the correct length sorted it

I use Michelin latex tubes, and agree with some of the above other than you will have to pump them every ride. I run 100psi and they drop about 20psi each day. But then I pump my standard tubes up daily as they drop around 5psi. In my opinion they are a worthy upgrade, given the cost is not great.

They get a hard time on a couple of other forums, for being expensive and a bit agricultural. But their products in my opinion are second to none, they look great, work and the aftersales/service side is great. Not to mention how easy everything is to work on yourself. I love Hope.

Seem reasonable, but are you missing out the part of the question where you ask if they will take fifty pence? ;-)

My particular favourite is on other cycling fora, where you can PM and see if someone has read your PM. you get no response despite knowing they read a queastion, then they BUMP their ad.

Still i prefer no answers then low ballers or the morons that say they want something, pull out by then saying they found it cheaper new but wont respond to your request for the internet link…again despite reading the message. Just have the balls to say you bought something else or dont have the money rather than lying.
