You can look around the car once it’s lined up (morning of the sale) as the branch will be open for viewing, the car will be unlocked and started up usually 10 minutes before it goes through at which point you can do some quick checks. As a private punter it’s worth checking the indemnity fees prior to bidding at the front reception as they are not insignificant.

    What car is it?

Likely to be in again, but going to go for a shorter route at a hilled pace me thinks

Or bad customer? Playing devils advocate here, you don’t buy the bike from them but expect them to sort out the (likely) costly warranty claim. If it’s a big chain they will likely have branch revenue targets, warranty claims are very, very rarely profitable for businesses. I wouldn’t blame them at all.

I don’t blame the lbs to be honest, why didn’t you buy it from them in the first place? The perils of buying online, it costs you to resolve or you pay the extra locally. I’m now in my 3rd week of chasing chain reaction over a warranty claim….I just got to suck it up. What brand is it?

No it hasnt! there have been a couple of things mentioned on forums. But not the global widespread clusterf£$k that there was with the Air, or other products made by SRAM.

The only knocking issues i could see are a couple of vids on youtube, which look to me like people running the pretension collar to loose. I have seen very little widespread issues and i looked prior o buying one as was very aware of the previous inline issues, having owned one!

I have an in-line coil it’s been faultless. But to be honest they never suffered with the same issues as the In-line air anyway?? Did they??

I will buy the same shock for my next frame, it’s the perfect trail coil shock!

Be more interesting just MTb mileage and not road/virtual miles. For my selfish reasons…I only MTb ride!

    Rides:117
    Hours: 213hrs 54mins
    Distance: 1497 miles
    Elevation: 207,995

3 miles short of target, but true off road miles

The bike isn’t on their website as they are mid a launch marketing teaser campaign I believe. I’m interested as and when more details come! Specifically if it has a stupid BB standard like YT.

Interesting that you think the Jeffsy is too lightweight… I run mine with coil shock, 150mm fork and its a damn good bike capable of hitting well above it’s weight. The only weakness I have found is with the crappy PF BB standard that seems to plague the industry! Else it’s about the perfect bike for trail, Enduro and Bike park days!

You chaps that ride Bredon Hill care to show me around? I live In Bredon and have a little loop from westmancote up and around but would love some more routes. Used to ride up the yellow brick road in Beckford when I was a lad. I spend most of my time riding FOD but would love some more local stuff

Looks like the buyer has damaged it and now chancing his arm! Which he will likely succeed with due to Ebay and PayPal’s ridiculous practices. Not helped yourself selling it ‘New -other’ when it isn’t and wa in fact used.

If it were me I would tell the buyer to return it to me for a refund. It’s one of the reasons I only sell on eBay cash on collection.

So as if by magic! My Hope BB has lasted a month…well I have had to strip down and re-grease, the frankly dog muck design where the bearings are open to the elements means i cant see it lasting any more time than the RF original. Anyone have any recommendations of better shielded BB’s?? I cant cope with having to strip and replace/grease BB’s at £50 a pop every month. So if there are no alternatives, it looks like it maybe time for an early bath for the jeffsy

    Stupid BB standard!

My favourite is my wife’s excitement at bonus time…god forbid the reaction when I suggest I spend some of the money I have earned on a bike…money I have basically slutted myself mentally for! I won some holiday vouchers this week! She was frothing with excitement when I suggested I spend £500 on myself as a well done you would think I had just pulled my trousers down and shat on the lounge carpet!

    Why all the Hunter-hating?

Probably the same reason we had a thread about ‘trail cars’ and IT professionals on Santa Cruzs!?

Wife wants a pair of Dubarry Galway boots for Christmas. Goodness gracious me they were/are expensive things for walking the dog in! I better be paid in all sorts of kinky kind!

I did exactly that after being adamant I never had PPi or any old records. Using the moneysupermarket partner site I sent emails to every bank I ever remembered having a loan of credit card with. Loads of letters back saying I never had ppi but the. HSBC wrote to me saying I had 3 policies with them in Dec 00….I am mid claim!

Yeah the hope one is open to the elements, like the look of the praxis one and the fact it has a wavy washer! Let’s see how he hope lasts this winter.

So mine is a 2016/17 CF One, I replaced the BB with a hope pressfit, needed to fit a spacer but the bearings just pressed into the frame. I didn’t have a plastic tube in my frame?

I take it this is an alloy Jeffsy frame?? My carbon Jeffsy just has cups molded I tot he frame, as in they are not removeable. It uses flanged cartridge bearings?

I’m off to FOD tomorrow, smashed ribs and full of cold. Providing the BMW can get me out of…Bredon!

Worth £800 all day long to be honest. Good cheap used cars are becoming hard to come by. Should be a pretty reliable car, there are hundreds if not thousands of BMW specialists out there nowadays so repairs won’t be as expensive as you would think. For £800 you could buy and run that car for many years and Still sell it for little loss if any at all.

But if it is an open standard why aren’t Sunrace or anyone trying to sell me a nice 10-46t 11sp XD cassette for a reasonable price?

I thought exactly the same thing. In fact I presumed they would offer an XD 46t cassette with a better spread than that awful XT 46t thing. I couldn’t find anything and wondered if someone was missing a trick. My friend has the E13 11 speed cassette it’s frankly a rediculous price and requires a specific tool not to mention creaks and moans something chronic. I have just resigned myself to upgrading to GX eagle over the next few weeks. I can buy it with out the horrible cranks for about £260 from CRC which seems descent enough value

I have a pair of m1700’s spline 2’s on my Jeffsy. I am not very forgiving on wheels and have given these some abuse over my 7 months of ownership. They are a great wheelset. I have had the rear trued up and it will likely need a spike key again soon. It’s survived Ard Rock Enduro, Afan, CYB, multiple BPW trips and various other riding. They are a fantastic wheelset, sadly mine are the slightly older version and I’m looking to upgrade to a wider rim so I will be retiring them soon enough. Likely be a XM or ex481 on hope Pro4. That said the ‘upgrade’ will be a downward one in terms of wheel weight

There are no plastic cups on the Jeffsy. I replaced my RF Bb with a hope variant from ‘fat birds’. Basically it’s just 2 bearings for £50. Which is a little steep. It’s a pf41 30mm variant. So far so good about a month in.

I was about the buy the last pair of KOM i29 29er last week, but snoozed too long. Now mulling over wheel choices again! Hmmm

Ah top work Graham had ridiculous amounts of tyres when I was in there the other week. Always worth giving him a call to see what he has squirreled away.

All the usual…wash you bike at your own peril tribe out at the moment I see?!? What a load of rubbish, I have had a mini for the last two years, never missed a beat. But I secure it in the boot when full of water and as a result have never lost a drop. As for cleaning your bike with it, it’s not a pressure washer at best it’s a strong hose. I use mine to get rid of the heavy mud especially on tyres and crevices around the bike as, being blunt, I also don’t want to drag the shot through my car. The mini is nothing like powerful enough to cause any more significant damage than a standard hose pipe. It’s the shitty mucoff and other cleaning agents that cause bigger problems. For reference I ride 3-4 days a week in FOD all year around. I use a mobi and I have single handily managed to make a RF pFBB last longer than anyone else in my riding group, that’s serial bike cleaners and religious ‘I never clean my bike’ folk alike.

Other good thing about the mini is I can blast most of the crap off my clothes at trail side which helps preserve the washing machine.

OP I think your warranty is from date of purchase not the subsequent replacements. But as others have said you could always tread down the EU 2 year law, see how you get on

No unfortunately not, it was as the trail opened out a long very fast straight section out of a slight corner. I was pressing on somewhat and ran out of track and talent, random rock as knocked bars out of my hand I fell forward then exited front of stage….I was flat out at the time so very lucky to talk away. Bit spaced out for a few minutes and I suspect I may have cracked a rib. Bit embarrassed by it all really it was such a silly mistake

Thanks guys, we had a great time did MBR then the fox trail. MBR was great, really enjoyed it the Fox (whatever it’s called) was pretty boring, think we will be back for a couple of days when it starts to get a bit warmer. I came a proper cropper on Uncle Fester…not sure what happened but going full tilt ove the bars. Lucky to get up, ribs are a bit of a mess breathing and sleeping is tricky at the moment.

Not sure to be honest, but I’m hoping a replacement bearings are only a couple of quid so I can stock up and the replacement cost shouldn’t be too much. The originals have lasted 6/7 months (shocking I know) but if they are cheap to replace I’m happy enough

So sorry to drag this thread up chaps, my Jockey wheels have seized up again! So time for replacement bearings. To save me stripping the mech down does anyone have the bearing numbers please? I can order today that way
