Why? How can they think it’s appropriate for the tyre to hit the seat tube! My mate nearly came a cropper as it basically locked the rear wheel.  Could’ve been bloody messy.  His replacement did the same and oranges response was to fill the air can with tokens so the shock ramps up so much it’s virtually impossible.  But that changes the charactersistics of the shock.  Or they suggested changing the shock stroke with a spacer, which would of changed the travel of the bike…why not design and test the bike properly in the first place.  Since Orange have changed ownership in my experience they have seriously dropped the ball

There are loads of recent examples of modern oranges cracking everyday reported on the owners group via Facebook.  Albeit the posts are often removed.  Drop outs appear the most common place and cable inserts into the swing arm.  Not to mention ovalised head tubes.  Interestingly my mate has had two stage 5’s where the rear wheel hits the seat tube under compression.  Orange said it was a characteristic of the bike!  Complete joke to be honest

I mentioned that in the early days of the new classifieds.  The ad cap is crazy and doesn’t work for smaller items in my view.   Which moves away from what this site was great at ‘good karma’ transactions.  So someone could post a wanted ad for an obsolete item and you would probably get some kind of response.  I gave away loads of stuff which helped other people.  Removing the ad cap for ‘P’ users made sense given as we already paid to use the site. But also stop the classified only users from spamming the place up.

Anyway nothing changed on that front and I used pink bike to clean out a load of kit.  Ad numbers are capped there too but at a much more sensible number

Whilst I’m at it, is there still premier content? I used to enjoy the premier competitions…not seen them for a while?

Question, what would you need to charge per member (online) to make the issues go away with the website and revert back to the good old classified system?  Why not charge everyone for access to the site? If there really is no value in ‘non paying members’ then make the pay up or ship out!

Interesting I don’t ever remember a ‘donate’ button on the classifieds? Hell I have given stuff away, which I would of asked people to donate to the classified fund cause! That said as a subscriber I believed that the classified usage was part funded by my subscription….hence why I am now no longer going to renew (as others have also pointed out) my subscription was always to help fund a website as well as receive a great magazine. But if I had to pick between the two it would always be the website nowadays.  Hence with all the site glitches and a move away from the good old classifieds I won’t be renewing.  So given as the new classified system was to help earn revenue and get away from the ‘classified only user’ it’s now putting off paying multi channel users….go figure

So what is the time limit on paid ads? According to the classified the Mojo HD3 that’s grossly over priced has been for sale for 3 months.  Some thought needs to be given to the use of paid ads and how they are displayed!  The number of people actually paying to list is virtually non-existent so it just looks like no one is using the classifieds.

There are currently 10 live paid for ads of which only 2 have been placed in the last week.  Generating around £20 a week in revenue.  Is there really not a better way to get some kind of ROI?  It’s worryong that something generating so little has the potential to damage so much!

Not to mention the first page of absolute overpriced garbage! If and when you actually get on to the ads….but don’t worry STW won’t turn off the exsistingbclassified forum until these issues are fixed….oh wait!  Sorry as a moaning cock bag perhaps I expected more for my subscription

They have no idea if 22 ads is good or bad to be honest.  No way of nowing how many people have stopped posting as a consequence.  What’s clear is there is no back peddling.  STW see classifieds as an income stream….long term we will see if it actually generates a revenue given the paid ads have not grown this weekend…

Depends where you ride ‘off piste’ dowies won’t be too bad at all.  In fact handle wet weather well.  Mallards/staple edge will be pretty horrific.  Staunton I should imagine would be lethal.

edit: in fact using your link I added carbon bars and wheels to the bird build and it came in at £4174. Now that build comes with guide ultimates and xo1 but it’s hardly a million miles from the (carbon) trek price is it?

Yep, myself and a couple of mates are entered the enduro.  Entry was much more relaxed than the nightmare that is Ard Rock!  Plus May is much closer so it doesn’t feel a life time away!  Not been before so keen to hear advice, tips and expectations .

I live in Bredon, so always keen to hear of more local riding spots.  I ride Bredon hill rarely but always enjoy it when I do.  Nothing in anyway technical there it’s just an XC up and down.  I mainly ride in FOD which is in easy reach but still an hours drive from me, Ross on wye is closer and there are some exceptional trails there for sure

Why not complain bigblackshed? Hell if the STW leadership had listened and followed through with their promises there would be no need to complain! Fact is they have created a poorer version of pinkbike classifieds.  The beauty of STW classifieds was it’s simplicity and it’s uniqueness. That’s gone now!  As someone who sees their subscription as a way of funding a website I enjoy I have a right to complain.  As were the posters on the 7 pages of the previous thread.

But you can’t can you, as it’s the same crappy over priced cars and bikes.  Filled with pictures.  It’s far inferior for ‘jumble’ style multi classified listings.

It’s like posted before in the ‘we are closing’ thread, for me the limited number of ads you can place.  The fact you need to search rather than browse, the fact I have yet to be able to see anyone that’s managed to post a clear out style ad successfully yet.  But most of all the fact that regardless of the user feedback there wasn’t even a reply, just shows absolutely no regard for members or customers.  I was initially supportive of the change but it needed some work and that was promised before closing the old classifieds which never happened.

Keen to hear feedback of other options too.

I got to say my current Remedy 9 RSL was bought as a stop gap bike.  But I bloody love it!  So much so I am looking like I may upgrade the frame rather than buy a new bike in the new year like I had planned.

Well I just resubsscibed as part of a birthday present.  In fact I got a free gift yesterday I wasn’t expecting.  Some weird arse cream? Not sure what I’m going to do with it to be honest probably give it to a roadie friend.  But one thing is for sure if the classified/wanted forums go it will be the last renewal unless something miraculous happens to the new shit system!

Get it powder coated!  I found it much cheaper than a rattle can job, once you bought the primer, multiple cans clear coat and wet/dry plus you get a better/longer lasting finish

I’m always looking for people to ride with in FOD tomorrow at 8:30, if anyone is looking for someone to ride with?  Think it’s only me and my mate out (late 30’s/40’s) ride off piste stuff probably around 18 miles stop for a cake halfway round or at the end.

I just bought a £3 go pro bar mount from eBay.  Not QR but super sturdy which is what the light needs

So I bought a one up remote to go with my post third ride out it snapped off at the MMX attachement point.  It works beautifully but is very fragile! I bought a Bontrager one to replace it.  Not quite as nice to use but better from a robustness perspective

As others have said inflatable sailing dinghy have always been compromised and frankly crap! But it really depends what you are looking at actually doing.  Just be careful if you decide to buy a used boat.  I have seen relative newcomers (and experienced racers) buy complete dogs over the years.
