You park at Mallards pike car park! (Google go ape FOD)easiest way to find trails is explore but to get in the right area. From the car park head to the lake and look for the bridge in the right hand corner. Cross it and ride along the lake until you see a short muddy climb on the right. Head up that and at the top turn left onto fire road. Keep heading along and the fire road turns hard right. Keep peddling up and you will start to see the. Bottom of trails on your left hand side. Eventually you will see a climb on the left which you head left up (it’s obvious bikes head up there) and that should take you to the top. I’m not there this weekend else I would happily show you around

So little tip for you. Open a sky bet account and bet £20 in the first race if it loses sky bet will give you the £20 cash back. And not a s a free bet. I won £140 on the first day! I have backed Quel Destin in the first tomorrow with £20 and will return £110 if it comes in losing nothing if it doesn’t!

Depends on the car really but I bought I used BMW boot liner which fits x5,x3 3&5 series touring. In fact I have used it in loads of estate cars now and it’s amazing. Takes 5 minutes to fit, it waterproof and heavy duty. Cost me £30!

    Weeksey,
I grabbed a handful of one of these whilst in Slam69 this week: They had a few set left at a super cheap £8.50 Nice and soft, but a little too wide for me (i like a thin grip) No annoying outside lock ring either….

    https://slam69.co.uk/fabric-semi-ergo-silicone-lock-on-grips-30142-p.asp

Looked like good value, i certainly would buy a pair if i was looking for something comfortable.

Probably best looking up their team rider Jono Jones and Ben Deaken. Both of which run coils. Think Ben has done a Vlog on his new build sled.

As above, I run a gxp carbon crankset which I like, I run a Uberbike Ceramic BB which is OK but when it dies I will run a hope BB with the adapter. No need to change cranksets that way

    What pressures were you running?

I had a response back basically saying it’s in our FAQ’s… what I want to know is why wasn’t this info available at time of booking. I get things change but the whole ‘drop this on them as they have no choice’ seems a bit like profiteering.

This is cheeky as hell. Especially releasing after I had entered the event. I have dropped them an email to understand why. Maybe the have trebles the amount of toilets and showers?

Time to get on Airbnb with 4 of us we could rent somewhere for similar and not have to put up with awful showered and hammered gob shites

Shame really as I like the RF cinch system.

Buy an aeffect crankset then, 24mm cinch and bullet proof!

I gave up on 30mm cranks in my Jeffsy, it’s a ridiculous idea to be honest and hope should know better than even try and offer a solution. I sold the bike in the end. Shame it was the single biggest criticism I had for what was an excellent bike

Yes it has, there is an almost removal of the proper technical side of the work carried out. Ed went well to explain things, how the worked and solving problems not to mention localised body work technicques. Now it’s all blue peter..here is one I did earlier. Not to mention mike getting his hands dirty.

I can see how a poorly executed jump could result in a slip…not cool.

Except it’s not shoe sole grip that keeps your feet on the pedals

Umm that’s my point! Hence the phrase ‘poorly executed’

So they have arrived, fit nicely and I like the stiff sole. But I can see what you mean now around grip. I can see how a poorly executed jump could result in a slip…not cool. So will give em a go for practice Sunday then if I have a problem switch into my old faithful free rider pro’s

I’ll bring me new ones and try them for practice. I never seem to worry to much about grip, but that may be from years of 510 use. Looking like a slopfest anyway so dabbing skills may be of some benefit

It’s a shame that the current show format has changed so dramatically. I really enjoy wheeler dealers, in its old format. Agree a Fuzz Townsend and Ed’s China show would be epically brilliant.

So I’m asking for trouble wearing them for the first time at this weekends Enduro in FOD? Am I best sticking with my 510’s before cracking out my new daps? If so I better crack the super glue out and try and plug the holes

Onza Ibex…🤢 love tan walls me, but they are the worse tyres I ever used. I was amazed how a tyre can be so draggy with little grip, braking support and traction.

Gnusmas, as a bystander of your situation. I have nothing but admiration for you. I know you have really struggled (as would we all) At times. But you should take a deep rooted pride in this feedback from your kids school. I can’t even begin to fathom how hard it must be, I simply couldn’t cope without my wife. The fact your kids are flourishing at school speaks volumes for your resolve and strength. You may not feel like it all the time, but you are an inspiration to fathers like me! Hell I complain and get in a flap when my teenage daughter decides I’m the **** of the week. I have the upmost respect for you. You should be proud, not only of your kids but of yourself.

Keep it up and remember, when times are tough…god gave us bikes!

Yeah you need Borax to make it properly. We tried everything. It’s prettt nasty stuff though so be careful when allowing your kids near it. I have a huge bucket load of you are anywhere near Gloucestershire. My daughter has moved on from slime now she is in her teens

50% as grippy? 😂 How to you Judge that? Guess we will see this weekend as I’ll be racing FOD Enduro in them provides they arrive in time. To be honest I have never really used a riding shoe and worried about grip. That’s not to say I haven’t slipped a pedal (the scars say otherwise) I a have clips as well but I don’t ride revs or big Bike park stuff, ride BPW and natural stuff in fOd. With probably 4 Enduros chucked in as well as Ard rock. So the terrex looks like it should be ok

I hadn’t noticed the Vaudes, look interesting. I purchased a pair of the Adidas Terrex from sportshoe as there is a 10% discount code: EXTRA10RUN

So £68 posted. Will keep an eye out for Vaudes shoes as another pair. I always try and have two pairs of shoes for cycling nowadays.

No I couldn’t by the terms of my old contract, or my new one to be fair. My new employer being specifically named was the biggest sticking point. Even though I was starting in a different sector of the market. I pushed my luck as it was, but fortunately kept my head down ultimately.

So I should probably update this thread in case others face the same situation. I am now 4 months into my new job. I basically decided to take a few weeks off but still ignore the anti competitor clause in my contract. My new employers were aware and agreed I would not be directly customer facing during my contacted period. I will say my previou employers were petulant through the whole process. Making me wait in to collect cars. Sending me crappy letters throughout my notice period etc. Made the decision easier to swallow after 11 years of employment etc. Also making it much easier now to start taking business from them. I will say the whole experience is/was very stressful, but I made the correct call. Another colleague (same company different job) left for another competitor the same time but stupidly updated his LinkedIn…. which caused legal action etc. So I was right to be carful of the clause

Not sure I am hitting fOd tomorrow mate, not decided where to ride really. Mboy is muttering he may fancy it. Weather is gonna be shocking mind. I’m tempted to jump in the car and ride Llandegla as that’s fairly weather proof

We are all still sat patiently waiting for chips response and feedback following the ‘I’m listening’ comment a few months back. Alas, nothing seems to of changed in fact I mentioned a fault with it and heard nothing back, you still don’t get a notification if someone has commented on your ad. Also noticed the number of threads on the cycle forum seems to be down now…sure we will be told ads are up as are forum posts. I have really tried with the new classifieds, I even listed some stuff the other week despite being vocally critical. Glad to say I was right.

My pb up there is 19.12 which puts me about 8,000 out of about 33,000 according to Strava, can’t ever remember trying to gun it. But it was last time I rode there and the weather was horrendous so maybe trying To get on with the ride

Nothing like a mate calling you to a thread with this kind of title! Cheaps Mboy!

So I can relate to this! I have had a few 29ers. But really suffered on my Hightower. I have little legs but im not overly short at 5’9 (29” inside leg) on my medium Hightower it was a constant issue. I percevered but after taking some proper advice was told that the bike was to small for me. Trouble is when I sized up the bike felt like an absolute tank. I don’t buy the 29ers are for tall people thing, look at Katie Winton. But in the end I went back to 650b and I have not looked back since, nor have i has my scrotum used as a third brake. So win, win! Incedentlu what bike is it OP?
