DezB – when did you first take your GSP out? How old? I have an 8 month old dog and want him to ride with me, but not sure how to start, off the lead straight away and hope?

Isn’t it more likely to be aimed at the RAF station. I assume the planes in one way or another are killing nestling birds and that Hale is someone in charge at the base?

This kind of thing is covered in the PPI miss-selling. Who is your policy with?

enfht – you’re clearly talking nonsense.

Example, last year I went OTB and fell headfirst into a dried up river bed, probably 15 feet in all. I landed like a ninja but it would have been very ugly had I been clipped in.

Last year. A DRIED UP river bed. Rubbish. There was nothing dried up last year.

Otley is great – good pubs, bike shops, bike clubs, great community feel etc. The ride into Leeds ain’t bad to be honest if you’re used to riding in rush hour. Riding from the door is limited but good if you look for the cheeky bits – that said you can do a decent 2hr loop taking in pretty much everything.

Apparently not no as we’ve been told even missing one day can have an effect on their education. So my youngest who school is not serviced by any buses and most live with 1/2 mile of the school is closed. My eldest’s which is part of the same academy is open and is serviced by buses. Makes no sense.

You’re right. It’ll be lazy teachers. The ones that start and 9, finish at 3, have 13 weeks holiday a year and get paid £37K, of your money.

I dare say that those people that complain about schools shutting in due to snow also complain when schools won’t allow them to take their kids out in term time to go on a cheaper holiday. You can’t have it both ways.

We’re in the planning stages for a Brizzle-London multi-day off road. 3 days I reckon, B&B, nothing gnarr, but nice scenery, beer etc. Probably towards the end of May.

I’ve had a Planar 3 for some 15 years. It’s a proper piece of kit and unless I could suddenly afford a Linn I will happily stick with it for another 15 years.

Day one. Watch it go through Otley, the main lights should be interesting, then a pootle by bike over to Harrogate to catch the finish. Exciting.

I’ll be cycling into the office tomorrow. There’s no chance I’m risking a 6 hour, 22 mile commute home in the car. I’d rather be chilly on the bike and get home in good time. Thick tights, snowboarding gloves, thick socks and Lake MX140s, new buff. Sorted.

A B5.5 is better imo. I have a B7 now. In the B5.5 I was able to get big bikes (SC Heckler width ways across the boot standing up with both wheels off with a bit of anal tesalation. This meant easily three in the boot with the seats up. including wheels. It was ace. To me the B7 seems to have a smaller boot.

We did. Born in North Yorkshire, registered in West Yorkshire. Didn’t take owt with us, but the registrar sent the paper work away rather than giving it to us there and then. We did it in the local registry office as well.

You’re allowed to wash your testes, just not your jeans. I wear these marvelous things called pants that separate my genitals from my trouser wear. I wash my pants often.

    You’re taking the piss, right?!?!?
Batter (or Yorkshire pudding mix) is 3 ingredients: eggs, flour, milk. And you’re buying a mix and adding eggs and water to it? All you’re buying is flour, with a spoonful of powdered milk in it!!!
Batter is THE easiest thing to make. It’s similar in technicality to making a pot of tea or putting your undercrackers on.

No. I can cook/bake but for whatever reason toad in the hole has always been a bit flaccid despite trying everything with the oil good and hot and not opening the oven it never performs.
I’m sticking with the batter mix.

Even easier is you remember the quantities using 1, 2, 3, 4 – 1/2 a pint of milk, 3 LARGE (important) eggs, 4oz flour.

Hiut straight selvedge here. Whoever else up there has Hiut selvedge – leave them longer than 6 months if you can (clearly aimed at first time raw denimers) – the longer you leave raw denim the better. My previous pair got their first wash at 24 mths (The Flathead F38s), lots of airing, febreeze inbetween, but no actual wash. First wash was cold with no detergent.

Chailo Sim – beautiful male vocal folky stuff, summery and thought provoking.
Maz Totterdal – quite poppy but still folky acoustic stuff. Happy singalong, get in yer head kinda stuff.
First Aid Kit – brilliant Swedish duo. Really lovely. Summery again.
Ben Howard – you probably know Ben Howard. Like a less smackable version of Blunt et al.

House insurance should cover damage to your bike if it’s a named item. You should then be able to get your insurance to contact theirs.

14 miles each way if I cycle and use the train for the Bradford to ‘fax bit. 22 miles each way if I go all the way, which I only do if I have no time constraints and it’s nice out.
