****, reference no 8 in the Wiki article pointed to the answer I checked it when I posted and it was still available, but I've looked now and Spotify have closed it, so at least a few of you have jumped on the bandwagon and used it. I know it worked as I used it myself.

There is plenty of riding with a bit on invention. I know of a group that have a regular nightride around the tracks/trails on the Wirral, not that hilly but still fun and it's good mid-week exercise. From the Port you can take a number of Sustrans routes that can mean a 40+ km loop can be done with most of it not on public roads, again not hilly but if you get down by the river when the wind is blowing a bit it can really hurt.

Then there is as people have already suggested, Llandegla, Clwyds and so on.

Kettle full of boiling hot water poured over the crank by the pedal usually works.

A 340bhp hybrid Lexus, big problem is the electric motors 200bhp's worth in this case put out their maximum torque straight off idle so I have to keep my foot completely off the go faster pedal until there's dry-ish tarmac under the wheels.

A lot of mobile operators block VoIP traffic or exclude it from the 'unlimited internet' unless you pay a premium for it.

G729a Codec (If you can control what Codec is used) with 20ms (2 samples) you are looking at roughly about 24Kbps

I use Fring on my N86 to register to a SIP account I've got with my ISP. Wouldn't use it outside of my own WiFi LAN as SIP/RTP is all in the clear, all it takes is someone to use a open WiFi point to sniff all the traffic and glean all the passwords for your email/SIP etc.. For any public WiFi I use Skype, as at least it's protocols are not in the public domain.

He'd go out for a ride on his bike, but as his pedal strokes are that powerful he'd slow down the Earth's rotation making each day of Phil's M.I.L visit last a year.

Marin is probably un-rideable today, 8 inches plus of snow with the start to Hafna mine taking an hour plus to ride with -3 forecast for overnight.

About five years back I used to have a pair of the On-One TI forks on my Singlespeed. Not 20mm bolt thru but dammed stiff and with disc mounts, only problem with them I suppose is that they had an axle to crown measurement based on the bikes of the time. Again try Ebay or Retrobike I guess.

Worryingly I've seen a huge amount of the bands named so far live, a big chunk of the 80's and early 90's went in bit of a blur, remember the Quireboys bar set mainly as I demanded that they pour me a pint as the crowd was too big for me to go to the bar. Spotted myself in the front row of the crowd at a Thunder gig in one of their albums but for the life of me can't remember that night. Buckley Tiv rock night was bloody brilliant/

    Few more to add:
    Saxon
    Gary Moore
    Zodiac Mindwarp
    RATT

Saw an original Stratos once in a car park, I was frozen to the spot staring at it until the owner came out of a shop and let me have a look at the engine. I've seen a Delorean and a Speed12 but that Stratos is still number 1, sad to say I remember that much about it that I can even point to the spot it was parked in.

John with your front tyre how can it be a tooth rattler on the log shore?

Whilst on Sat I was out on my rigid SS with John, enjoying the trails and dropping myself in it with some Coilair riders, I'll be honest and say I like it on all my bikes, full sussers, hardtails and SS'rs. Only reason I usually end up on the Love/Hate is I"m local and it can get a bit same-ish with a bit of suspension.

Go with your fave bike and just enjoy it, you can always back again with the other.

Rona, has got it spot on, I'm 43 and mine is 198 which I suppose is right at the upper limit of the +/- 20bpm
What is worth recording on a daily basis is your resting heart rate. Do it before you get out of bed in the morning (excluding nightshift workers) that way you will have a good idea what it should be and if it's elevated from your average, then maybe you have not recovered from the previous days exercise or you are coming down with a bug.

Hell John you are bloody brave to be able to talk about it, in consecutive years my dad lost both his brothers and then sister to cancer followed by last year his announcement to the family that he had it too and he had to go in to hospital to get it all taken out. I muttered about it at the time to some of the CCM but basically kept quiet about it which in hindsight wasn't too good an idea, so I admire your bravery in sharing it with people.

For him they managed to find it all and the check ups so far have remained clear and he's back to being a wiry old fixie riding roadie again, but it was scary seeing him laid so low. His big tip is if you find a lump don't ignore it and then at the prodding of your mate eventually go and get it checked out, instead go to the doc's straight away.

TJ, you should see the amps involved in Telecoms, massive solid metal bars used to conduct the power to the racks. I've seen pliers, screwdrivers varporise when dropped across busbars prior to them being insulated.

Ringing current will give you a smart if you are standing up the top of a pole in the rain and your ladder acts as ground, then again a telex line gives you a hell of a decent kick, but for a real whack then then some of the old PCM systems would give you a right belt 120 volts or so, never mind the entertainment you can have seeing how far a regen lid can go in the air if you don't de-pressurise the system beforehand.

Yep love my MG, sorta halfway between steel and alu is the best way to describe it, dunno about it taking the edge off the trail as I've built it up with big forks & tyres as it's better suited for the rougher stuff. It's not a bounce skip along the trail type of Ti bike like some of the others.

Mr Overshoot is in a location that's got a cracking line of sight onto Moel y Parc, living the other side of the river from him on the Welsh side I get a cracking signal from Winter Hill, which I'm happy with as a lot of the Welsh channels have quite a south bias to them.

Wasn't a Lanc, it looked to be a Manchester as it had only two engines that sounded pretty lame compared to Merlins and it had the funny shaped top turret. It was crawling thru the air too. We were sat up on Hope Brink being entertained by Higgo with his amazing seatpost.

Yeah it's about 17 miles or so in length for the combined route.
