Postie just delivered a 20mm 1.7 prime lens this morning, it’s micro four thirds mount so works out as a 40mm in normal speak. It’s tiny so will mean I can easily carry the camera in my Camelbak. Can’t wait to have a good play with it.

Hex core AMD 1075T running at 3.3ghz, 8Gb of OCZ RAM, Asus Direct CU II 6950 2Gb thats runs quicker than a stock 6970, 3.5Tb spread across four disc drives. All in a Zalman case with four 120mm case fans running at min RPM via a front panel fan controller, super quiet Nesteq PSU and a Scythe Mugen heatsink with a Noctua high static pressure 120mm fan, all makes for a very quiet but cool even under heavy load PC.

Only if said TV or Comp is in an room where you are happy to open the windows, even in winter the amount of condensation you can produce in a closed room can have the walls n windows dripping with it.

+1 the Elite Crono Fluid trainer, it uses your weight to push the tyre down on the roller, so results in a LOT less tyre wear over the trainers where you push the roller into the tyre.

Don’t do it on a busy trail on the weekend, love animals and don’t mind riders out with their dogs, it’s amazing to see some of the speeds dogs can get up to, one rider out with their dog mid-week on a trail is going to be mostly safe/fun for everyone concerned. But as an example taking a big fat stupid black Lab out round Llandegla on a Saturday morning is going to cause carnage.

Maxxis aDvantage are a good all year round tyre, 2.1’s in the 62a compound. Will handle soggy wet Gisburn, Lee Quarry, Peak District and off piste Dyfi trails and easily put up with a large heavy rider like me. Will add that in a 2.1 they are slightly wider than 2.2 MK’s.

RTFM has been done I’m embarrassed to say (goes against my instincts) experimentation is already ongoing mostly so far playing with depth of field/manual focus and post processing with Aperture. But outdoors/scenery tips mucho appreciated.

Maxxis Advantage, come up large compared to previous Maxxis tyre, the 2.1 is prob at the 2.25 high roller size. Go for them in the 62a or 60 compound and you can use them all year round.

Digger, Chris Carmichael has been pretty quick to answer questions and offer advice via email/twitter on tweaking the plans in the past so it might be worthwhile explaining what you are doing and see what he says.

A HR monitor that will do average HR will be worth it for the CTS field test.

I’ve gone down the imperial warrior mage route, mix of companions and winterhold quests, with some smithing and plenty of enchanted weapons with soul trap to keep everything charged.

Search every room, drawer, cupboard etc… there are plenty of skills books to be found to give good boosts to skills.

Been following the news on them for a while, think I’ll get the Model B when it’s out and agree the IO (Gertboard) looks interesting too.

Agree, but the 575 is designed to take 160 forks and it hasn’t made it any more wandery. When I first upgraded it I expected that to be the case but I was a bit puzzled that it was not.

Longer forks? On my ’07 575 I went from 68.5 to 66.9/67ish by putting some 160mm travel forks on it.

I’d checked on the Transformer forums before applying the updates, but the comments all only related to the improvements rather than any new ‘issues’ Guess I’ll see tomorrow if there has been any appreciable battery drain overnight.

Mine was running fine until it did the firmware updates yesterday, at first all was great, improved browser speed and onscreen keyboard. Then it froze and took a couple button presses to come on, overnight it sucked up all of the keyboard dock battery. So today I did a factory reset on it and after putting in my Google details on the initial setup it automagically downloaded all of my apps and as I use Picassa for my pics and all the music is on a SD card, I didn’t loose any data. Since then it’s been running fine and the excessive battery drain seems to have gone.

Its also worth adding that we could (at the time of the invasion) freely discuss this issue, be a member of a trade union, be a student, journalist without taking a one way helicopter trip to a prison or a very hard landing after being thrown out of the door never to be seen again. The whole issue was just brought up as an attempt to deflect the public away from the mass murder happening on their doorsteps.

With a previous employer (early 90’s) We had a race round a large open plan office on a nightshift, realised about an hour before going off shift that we had left big rubber skid marks all over the place, so spent the rest of the shift moving carpet tiles around to hide the offending ones underneath desks.

I’d check what the exact year/model is capable of, some Macbook Pro’s are limited to a max of 4Gb of RAM and yes you will notice a difference in usability with more RAM.

Leaving a mobile phone in the drawer doesn’t help things as mobiles vary their transmit power based on signal strength, so if the cell site is getting a weak signal the phone can up it’s transmit power to compensate at the expense of battery charge life.

There is a free download on the Market “OS Monitor” it will run in the background as a little gauge in the status bar so you can see if a process is taking lots of CPU time (blank OK, varying levels of green for more n more CPU) If you see the gauge is high then you can open it and it will list all the processes and it will sort them based on CPU usage. This means at least you can narrow it down to a program/process that is being a bit naughty.
