What memory speed were you trying and whats your stock?

    i7-4770K stock speed with 16GB of DDR3 @1866 1*1Tb HD 1*256GB SSD 1*BluRay drive 4*120mm case fans
R9-280X at 1100 GPU with 1150 boost with the memory at 6.4Ghz and a 760W PSU.

The GPU is at 28-29c Idle, running a 3D Mark session max fan was at 2777 with a max temp of 70c drawing a max of 12.9A on one PCI-E rail and 11.3A on the other which works out if I add in the other motherboard 12PCI-E connector at 1.8A at a draw of 312W

Mines 1100 standard with 1150 boost, I’ll check the voltages and temps and let you know.

When I first installed it I was getting the random reboots and whilst my PSU max wattage was well above what was required for the card, I changed it out and no more reboots. All I could think of was that it was over 2 years old and had lots some of its max grunt.

One thing are you setting the power slider in overdrive to 20% when you do the overlock?

I’ve a R9 280X, what GPU and Memory speeds are you running it at. I’ll take a look at mine tomorrow and see what temps vs clock speeds its at.

Thermal throttling, if the PSU was overtaxed it would cut out and the PC would just cut out and reboot would be my first choice.

However input your spec here and see what you need >>

Bit odd but I work for a Telco where everyone has their choice of mobile phone as a works phone and a bloody decent discount on personal phones, and at lunchtime in the office canteen (I’ll get slapped for calling it that) its full of people eating and talking not a mobile phone to be seen.

Ps.. Samuri I agree next set of organ donors

You are going to have to make a choice on some items then, reverb on a race bike nope gone. Reba’s even a hefty 15+ stone plus rider like me cant find any flex in the latest ones so there’s choice to be had there, buy a pair of race wheels and tyres and swop them out for your old ones when you are trail riding. Hell for a winter XC race a lighter saddle wont be a problem for the distances done.

Be aware their VAT is bloody high and its not a great beer country, wine there’s some good stuff but beer ain’t their thing. Other pluses great people, lots of english speakers and some weird food combinations

I’ve had a Spark 940 since June, first ride I did they day after I picked it up was 8 hours long which it did with no fuss at all, lockout lever is well handy.

I’ve been using a tag on the back of my mobile for over a year as part of an internal trial, with a app/portal to add top ups to it so I can limit how much is on in in case its lost. Was really handy when I was working in Budapest the other month as it seemed there were more terminals that did contactless than back here.

Park in your official allocated bays once those are fun park on the road/verges outside whilst those ‘reserved’ spaces remain all day signalling to one and all who the Billy no mates are.

As for the three point turn despite facilities being too nice tell them to P off, after all they have created this situation so deserve some flack back.

Why would you splice a 1 metre or so bit of fibre it would be easier just to put the correct connectors on both ends, its pointless splicing something for that distance.

I’ve seen MCP’s just like that as I got bitten by them being deployed in an EoL Cisco estate with SC connectors (GBIC’s) wheras all the replacement switches were going to LC based SFP’s, the customer advised all of their internal cabling was multimode so alarm bells rang when I looked at their existing kit list and spotted all the LX GBIC’s >> http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/interfaces-modules/transceiver-modules/prod_bulletin0900aecd80425a37.html

Recovered in time and all the new patching correctly specced phew…

Plus in a lot of cases Yellow is singlemode and grey is ye-olde multimode

Most likely the fuse-y things will be a mode conditioning patch where you can use a singlemode transceiver with multimode fibre, it will allow you to squeeze a bit more distance with multimode fibre links.

I got the Defy Comp 1 earlier this year, really comfy on the roads of North Wales don’t know if it is down to the 25c tyres or the frame or a combo of both. Downside whilst all the drivetrain and levers are Ultegra which I’m really impressed with the front shifting on, the brake calipers are are well down the Shimano catalog and are no where as near as good as the 105’s on my other bike.

Guy I worked with came in one day asking if anyone had a metal detector, got the story out of him in the end. His nipper had seen him planting seeds in the garden so decided to plant all the sockets out of his expensive socket set.

Needs some Fatbike or 650b wheels with 1×10 and an Audi logo for that proper Singletrack feel

What I puzzle over is now someone going aboard now to fight or participate (by participate as an example I suggest someone doing something other than wielding a weapon, medic etc..) in a civil war is a potential terrorist, whereas if we look back at the Spanish civil war they were poets/freedom fighters etc.

On the flipside it’s quite a good policy letting your troublemakers be drawn towards a honeypot far from your voters, where they can thin themselves out a bit..

Skyrim so easy to loose 100’s of hours in it, Mass Effect 3 again lots of hours in it. Dishonored a great choice, Dark Souls 1 or 2 beautiful but bitching hard and of course Minecraft.

Out of the camera JPG normally I shoot in RAW but cocked up the settings first time out with it, but I’m happy with how it performed.

Yes got one when it got to that price, I totally agree the focusing isn’t quick it is at the speed of a DSLR in liveview mode, the battery is a bit on the small side, but the picture quality is up at a Canon 650D level so with the size and current price I can’t complain. I also have a Nikon D7100 and an Oly EM5 but was looking at for a premium compact to have something small and light to carry out and about and mainly for static shots so not worried about not having a high FPS or fast focusing.

Wolfenstien is single player but surely wiping out Nazis doesn’t count as a killing game does it.

Watched some of the demo videos of the forthcoming games for the PS4 at Gamescon and there looks to be some really good original games coming along as well as the usual genres.

I went through a couple of the SKF BB’s, whilst they lasted longer than any other ISIS BB they still fell short of the longevity of a standard Shimano HT never mind the Octalink.

Bit of a PSA Argos are knocking out the Canon EOS M with the 18-55mm lens for £199 at the moment, a camera with a sensor similar to the 650D for a compact camera price.

I have a circular polariser to fit it but that was without it, other trick is to use a rubber lens hood.

I’m trying to make the point that you can still have a walkabout zoom lens that is miles better than the kit without breaking the bank. I love my 35 and 50 primes but still the Sigma is dammed good.

Download this and view it at 100% 17mm at F4 I’m really impressed with the extra detail over my original kit lens

I’m well impressed with the Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 I am using on a Nikon but Sigma also do it on the Canon mount, brand new its about £300 so second hand should be in your price range I guess.

I use a HTC one M8 as my works phone, really impressed with the cleanness of the skin to Android HTC have used on it, battery life, look and feel are brilliant, only downside is that the camera is probably best termed average in daylight but works OK in darker conditions.

For my personal phone I have a Galaxy Note 3 and I’m not too bothered with Samsung’s skin vs HTC, the battery life is better still as is the camera, downside it doesn’t have the great look and feel of the HTC.
