Be aware that the Oneplus doesn’t support all of the 4G frequency bands used by mobile operators in the UK. So depending on your mobile provider you may in luck or out of luck.

Plan on any hydraulic disk brake you mail order will need bleeding, over the years I’ve had Hope, Avid & Shimano’s from lots of etailers and every single one has needed bleeding. Again Epic Bleed solutions, good service and good guides to help you.

Bought a MacBook Pro from PC World a couple months back and got treated really well, suspect it was due to them having an paid by Apple employee dedicated to the Apple section and then the sale itself was handled by the PCW business team even thou I was buying it myself and have to say they knew their stuff, were super nice and didn’t try to sell me any extra’s. Then again I probably reek of Alpha Geek.

Also was in another nearby PCW branch just before Xmas as they still had Chromecasts in stock and had a right laugh with the lad on the till outdoing each other with Minion impressions.

There was a thread on here the other day about WiFi connection problems to a BT Infinity router, think the issue was that it was using the same SSID name for both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz so the solution was to rename the SSID for one of the frequencies instead.

Yes the latest BT Infinity routers combine the VDSL modem in the router rather than having it as a separate unit, but this is just mirroring what happened with ADSL in the very early days. It enables a user self install to take place instead of a engineer visit (same happened when ADSL came out)

There are routers out there that have the VDSL modem built in Fritzbox and Draytek are just two that come to mind.

I’ve got a Nikon F mount to MFT adaptor that works a treat, but it means manual focus and will only work with the older lenses with manual aperture control.

I was out with a mate for my birthday drinks and we got more than normal hammered, the next day he couldn’t suss out why his brother was not speaking to him. Eventually the story came out, he got into the bedroom they shared and whilst his brother was in bed bed peed all over his feet, luckily for his brother that day while we were out his brother had re-arranged their bedroom so that the brother would sleep in the opposite direction.

The Oly has inbuilt image stabilisation whereas the Panasonic range do it in the lenses, means that you can use almost any lens out there with the appropriate M4/3 to say Nikon F mount adaptor, as long as the lens is capable of manual focus and aperture control and still retain image stabilisation.

In etc/modprobe.d/ is there an nvidia.conf file there? If so is there an alias line within it? where nvidia will be an alias for the driver

Drivers can be compiled directly (monolithic) into the kernel or loaded as modules, the detection of the hardware and the loading of the appropriate modules (if they have been compiled) can be handled by something like udev, however to be 100% of loading the correct ones there will usually be a file in etc/ of a sub dir of it for example conf.d/ containing the name of the modules to be loaded, also there could be another file that will contain config parameters to be passed to the modules as they are loaded.

I will add the Beavers seem to float over the gloopy stuff for a second but when you correct the side grips seem to make a difference and regain grip, so a very predictable slide thats easily corrected. Would be nice not to have that heart in mouth moment thou, I’m going to try running them harder to break thru the gloop rather than pretty soft as I have them now.

Well my Geax Saguaro 2.2’s really surprised me with their grip in mud despite quite a fine low tread could get thru stuff that I would have trouble with on some of my other bikes. The Maxxis Beaver 2.0’s on my 29er SS I’m still 50/50 over

I’ve an EOS M cracking picture quality but its a bit slow locking focus, OK for static images but not so for moving ones, couldn’t resist at the price Argos are knocking them out at.

For an all rounder CSC I’d suggest an Olympus or Panasonic Micro Four Thirds as they have the largest choice when it comes to lenses.

The training for the CCENT puts you halfway towards CCNA Routing & Switching then as I found once you get the CCNA its not much more to get the CCDA, then once you get the CCNP its not much more for the CCDP.

I had the CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, CCDP & CCIP with a whole pile of sales specialist certs to help keep our Gold Certification and was considering my CCIE in Routing & Switching but as I had moved into pre-sales it was getting harder and harder to get the hands on time to keep my skills current and when it came to re-cert time I let them lapse. The CCIP (Which has now gone) I really enjoyed doing as it was Advanced Routing, BGP, QoS and MPLS.

When I was studying for them the lads in our hot staging area let me have a whole pile of routers and switches so I could build up my own labs, but with beefier PC’s and router simulators its easier to setup a virtual lab now, well if you can get hold of the IOS versions you need.

My big tip get plenty of time at the command line, you need to get a lot of commands almost into muscle memory so you can rattle them off quickly in the exams.

Unplug everything that is plugged into a phone socket, phones, answering machines, sky boxes, extension wiring the lot. Then try the router directly in the master socket, ideally taking the faceplate off to isolate any internal wiring.

However the first question to ask is by 12Mbps and 0.5Mbps do you mean the router line sync speed or the download speed?

As there is a big difference if its the line sync speed then most likely there is fault on the line HOWEVER if you are synching at 12Mbps but only getting a 0.5Mbps download speed then either its congestion on your ISP’s network OR the line profile has been changed for some reason for example a lot of errors on the line so they have/or their systems have put you on a really slow profile until the line fault is sorted.

Another thing to try is with a phone connected pick up the handset and dial 1, can you hear any crackling/humming on the line?

Got one the other week only done the one ride so far (work getting in the way) it had no bad habits on the ride. The wheels are great with Stans rims so a doodle to make tubeless, brakes are functional is the best way to describe them and will most likely be my first upgrade. Reading reviews/blogs the EBB can be a bit iffy over time, but again will get upgraded if it plays up. With a pair of Maxxis Beavers on tubeless it weighs just over 23lbs which is bloody good considering the price.

I was looking at the place in Warrington too, apparently there’s a set of capacitors that can be replaced which will cure the charging issue. I just need to get off my backside and book mine in with him.

You can get Dye’s that you spray on that will soak thru the crack so if it is all the way through the frame it’ll appear on the inside.

Mr Overshoot used something like this on my Turner 5 Spot to prove a crack was terminal (crack was that big the fluid went thru straight away)

When I see it in work I usually think that they are too lazy, stupid, don’t give a toss or are too far up their own behind, when to enroll their device they have had to follow a reasonably complex user guide to set up. All on a web page that also includes guidance on how to set your signature.

Got one of the original kickstarter ones ideal for a buzz for a message/meeting reminder I can check without that annoying for me looking at a phone during a meeting. My challenge is I’m tempted by one of the steel ones, just because they look so much better.

The signs have been up for a while, apart from the diversion there’s always the track from RAF Sealand down to river to use as a diversion anyway.

The other bank is fecked, the flooding is coming up beneath the banks, I’ve seen mini fountains of water spouting up on the other side of the track from the walls at the really high tides, so theres a path or few deep down that need sorting too.
