Learn to love the “You Died” screen, you’ll see it quite often to start with, yes its bloody hard to start with you do need to keep at it, it will get easier for you after the first few hours. My tip upgrade your weapons as soon as you can and keep on upgrading.

Left in gear and the engine suffers from pre-ignition? Used to work at a place that had low compression engines in Ital vans (yes that long ago) and we used to have races in the works yard seeing how far our vans would get down the yard, they’d sort of hop/skip/jerk along. It was a bit of a shock the first time it would happen to you, park you van in the yard and the next morning find it a fair few metres away.

The Saguaro TNT 29 2.2 tyres are dammed good, I have been amazed at the amount of grip even in mud that such a shallow fast tread gives.

Sudocrem? It doesn’t work on Cats STW Classic Thread but maybe it works on Sheep or at least the attempt will possibly generate another classic.

I’ve been running a pair of Avid Juicy Ultimates (were cheap at the time) since 2007 on my Roadrat with no problems with either corrosion or unwanted locking and it’s mainly used as my winter road bike.

It’s a change in the security settings in OSX that’s the issue, you fix the settings and 24 hours later you have to do it again, to solve it apart from not using SSL/TLS for your email server settings do the following >>

Mail / Preferences / Accounts / Highlight your Plusnet Account / Select Advanced / Un-tick the “Automatically detect and maintain account settings”

Golly just had a look in my email archive I’ve had it since December 2009 (didn’t think I’d had it that long) and it gets plenty of winter abuse

The Elite has a larger roller and its the weight of the rider+bike on the roller rather than like most trainers where you push up the roller onto the tyre, this means less faffing, a lot less tyre wear and a quieter trainer. The fluid is great just change gear to alter resistance, will add it varies slightly till you get it warmed up and the heatsink can get bloody hot after a decent session on it.

Alloy forks on mine with the 2.1 Beavers a bit hard on the hands but once the Clwyds dry out a bit I’ll stick something larger on the front wheel and it’ll be fine.

Did it back in 2012 and lost 2&1/2 stone in four months, it’s slowly crept back on (not to the original starting weight) over the years since, so back on it again this year and I have so far lost 1&1/2 stone since the beginning of Jan. In that period there have so far been a couple periods where the loss has plateaued for over a week at a time, so unless you have made big changes to the diet since you started or have changed your exercise routine I wouldn’t worry just yet.

8 weeks will get you in a decent enough shape to survive it and even enjoy it at a decent pace >>

There are some dammed hard intervals to complete in the 8 week plans but they are based on that goal of doing a race/event at the end of the eight weeks.

Yup its the 2860 now, on one here at the moment, silly amount of uptime and plenty of config options to keep you busy if you like that sort of thing.

6 Port gig switch, 3G/4G backup port, IPv6, QoS and the flexibility of ADSL/VDSL2 did it for me.

Just acquired the A7 and I’m pretty chuffed with the quality even with the kit lens, if you are used to mirrorless cameras then the EVF is fine, yes its a bit slower than the Oly/Panny MFT cameras for autofocus but for a full frame camera little larger than a OMD EM5 its impressive.

I’m on my second hybrid, first one I had for 4 years with nothing going wrong with it and I averaged 43mpg during that time, I will add it was a 340bhp beastie so I didn’t (couldn’t) hold back on it and drive it too gently. On the second one now which is a lot more sensible 220bhp and best MPG I get is on rolling twisty A/B roads, getting 58mpg on one trip Shrewsbury to Gloucester. On long motorway journeys it averages about 49mpg, it’s just a case of setting the cruise control and relaxing, if you look at the energy display it is constantly either adding a bit of battery power to geartrain or getting a bit of a charge from the engine and/or wheels when the incline dips a bit. As well as cheap car tax brake pads last absolutely ages, got just over 40000 miles out of a set on the first car.

I used to be a NOC Shift Manager and that brings back memories of having to react quite quickly to UK and World events to keep a network running. I had the joys of not only the switch team to look after but the data, access and core transmission network teams. It made for some interesting moments to say the least, I had to give it up in the end as I turned into a stress junkie, I thrived on it to the detriment of my character. I’m a lot calmer and hopefully healthier nowadays.

Got one that 99% of the time it will automatically switch between devices, on the odd time it doesn’t for example getting confused with 2 or more devices switched on at once it has a switch to go around all the inputs. It’s a Duronic HDS3 Mini 3 Port Gold HDMI Auto Switch PIANO BLACK 3×1 (3 way input 1 output HDMI Switcher) for £7.99 from Amazon.

Nothing to do with the IP addressing it is to do with how fine tuned the criteria are on the banks systems for spotting items that may be outside of the normal patterns. It could be anything that triggers the alarm/block, in this case it was an IP address.

For example since December the bank may have had a rise in fraudulent activity that has caused them to alter their thresholds on common items associated with such activities. This may have been a deliberate choice or the banks learning systems may have done this automagically.

Hopefully in a well designed/operated system the fact that this will have been a false positive will have been recorded and fed back into the system, resulting in an alteration in the scoring criteria for the individual customer and perhaps on a much smaller scale for all/some of the banks customers. Resulting in a reduction of such false positives in the future however this will again will be weighed against the continued number of correct alarms for the banks customers. After all there are 16million odd IP addresses in the 109 range with various allocations of that 109 range to ISP’s across Europe.

Locations for IP addresses on online tools are pretty useless apart from the country that they are in, down to town level all it will show is where the ISP’s either registered it or where their main operation/gateways are located. For example I have a static IP address from my ISP and I’m located in Wales, yet if you look up that IP it’ll show as Sheffield (easy guess who the ISP is!)

The larger ISP’s will have multiple ranges to cope with the number of users and thru acquisition of other ISP’s thru mergers and so on.

With a dynamically allocated IP address all it needs is a reset/reboot of your router or perhaps a line drop, noting that any of this can occur at anytime so you might not have noticed unless you were using the internet at the time of the drop/reboot/reset for you to loose the current allocation and your router to re-login in to the ISP’s network and get allocated a new address. OR for the ISP to be doing some planned work/re-engineering and tinker with their gateways and introduce a new range or shift you onto a new range.

I think it’s Kudos to the bank for noticing something outside of your normal pattern of usage and doing something about it, perhaps with a reduction for not notifying you straight away.

1000 has a capacitive screen rather than the resistive on earlier models, means presses on the screen can be a bit iffy with thicker gloves on. Prefer the way it just pools all the sensors together rather than sensors per bike and then allows you to select different ride types each with a customised display for that type of ride.

I get someone who’s left the US military and signed up for various education programs available for vets, along with reminders to get their Toyota serviced and a copy of their agreement with a local cable company for TV and internet. I’ve tried replying to the senders with no change, so now they must wonder why their car dealer is crap at service, why they never get any email from their university and bills for their cable TV.
