Something cheap then, as you will only do it once before deciding screw this and getting a brushcutter

    probably not far wrong!

    I’ve a med frame and got a 100mm.
Reason was, the post nearly fully inserted gave me the perfect extended hieght. A 125mm would have been pretty much 25mm to high.
If you’ve got 7″ (aprox 175mm) take away the collar hieght and get a post to suit what’s left.

Shut it! It’s only June and I’ve got at least till December before a single plank fix!

Busy building one now. Out of the ground and up to waist hieght at the minute.
Plot already had planning, changed a few bits but not the footprint so I just cracked on and let them worry about the silly stuff. The planners are mainly idiots that have been given a small amount of power and think they are gods but building control are quite chilled.
Services are costing quite a bit, esp the sewer connection.
Got 2 labourers on day rate and a bricky on a price and me doing every thing else.

The sink is 830. The outer bowl will be about 790, so the over hanging lip will be about 20mm.
It looks like there is a lip on the front edge also. So 660 – 20 = 640. So it should project about 40mm past the worktop.
I’ve fitted a stainless one very similar before.
It would be the height I’d be more concerned with. Ikea have a mind of their own when it comes to kitchens!

The sink in the link is a Belfast style that over hangs the unit at the sides.
It will fit on top an 800 base but you’d need a Belfast sink base (you’d need to find the sink hieght as there is a few different sizes) or a unit/doors/filler adapted to suit. Possibly wider worktops/units pulled off wall to suit.
But it could be made to work.

    Possibly something like this

    Ditto what blazin wrote.
A 2 drawer unit is much more usable that a standard cupboard.
Don’t waste money on fancy corner units/pull outs, put the stuff you barely use in them.
Get the best Worktops you can afford, they are what gets the most use and what makes the kitchen stand out.
And don’t try and fill every bit of space in the room with units, you really don’t need that many.
    Induction hob is a must!

Ultima furniture. Trade side of DIY kitchens. I fit kitchens and use them a lot.

15k isn’t a lot depending on what spec of appliances etc your fitting.
I fitted a 20k kitchen in a new build last year. £5600 for units inc fitting, £5500 for corian tops and the rest went on Miele appliances. It was bloody massive tho!

I drive a trafic lwb high top for work. Good enough van and ok to drive.
    I’ve a very nice Volvo xc60 and a 1981 vw t25 that I’ve had for 13 years.
I’ve had so many good times in the vw I doubt I’d ever sell it, even tho it drives like a tank, has no power steering, the brakes barely work and it gets about 20mpg, but I smile every time I drive it.

Anything is better than Cooke and Lewis.
    Although I’ll rephrase that.
An untrained chimp could design/sell/sort out problems better than most of the employees that work there.

I’m a kitchen fitter by the way.

My pub bike is called Julie. She won’t let me take a photo tho.
Everyone has had a ride of her at one point and has managed to accommodate 2, sometimes 3 riders at the same time.

If it’s the PVC frame that’s dropped, get a piece of timber, open the window, stick piece of timber through the gap and “bump” it back up, do it at each side (not in the middle) or use a block of wood and a hammer.
It’s best to do it from the outside.

Find one of the plastic trim suppliers (euro cell, national plastics, etc) and get one from there.
They’ll do a cheap one or a one for about £8.
Power pro I think there called. A bit heavier than the cheap ones but are very good.

I know lots of football hooligans from the 90’s and the majority of them are mouthy ball bags.
Put them one on one with someone their own size and they’d run a mile, but become a tough guy when there’s a gang of them or when sticking the boot in when someone’s on the floor.
I’ve invited a few to come training/sparring with me (karate but more k1 style and little ground work) and most have declined.
Some of them are just out and out nutters tho.

I’ve only visited it for a day. The lagoon is beautiful, hired a twin canoe and paddled right around it with my daughter. Turtles swimming around us. Nice quiet private beaches.
Didn’t really venture in to the main part but if I ever head back to turkey, it would be oludeniz

All I do is fit kitchens.
Ikea – fitted one and said never again.
Wickes – not bad quality but, as with b&q etc. your at their mercy once you’ve paid and nearly every one I’ve fitted has had problems. Missing items, bad designs and general headaches. Try to stay clear these days.
Howdens – fitted hundreds of them, great for builders as there stock and deadlines don’t matter. Wouldn’t have one in my house as there is better products for the money. They used to be cheap when MFI was around (they were owned by the same company) but not any more.

The best advice that been given is to use DIY-kitchens, I use their parent company (they do credit terms, better range of sizes and a few different styles, etc.) Quality is spot on and prices are very good.

If your doing it yourself it’s a lot.
I’ve just poured the footing for a 4bed house and all in I’m up to about £8k but I’ve took about 200 ton of spoil away and 21 cubed metres of concrete for the pour. Had to hire a pump as well (£450)
Still need to lay about 1000 foundation blocks to get to damp.

about 18mth ago my wife wanted to start running, general mid life crisis etc,
we both started the c2-5k, tbh i found it very easy but she really struggled from the off, she could barely run for 2 mins.
completed that and i left her to it as i hate running.
up until about 6 weeks ago she was running about 30 mile a week, (1x15m and 2×7.5m)slight injury has slowed her down but she is back at it.
shes lost about 3 stone, 11 down to 8.

He would be seen by the same person at each interview so I am going for urban myth
He may well attend with them but that is different

He attends with them, tells them how to answer the questions, park close to the office, not to use the stairs, wear new shoes so the soles havent been worn down, take a member of family to help you undress to be examined and help get you out of the car, the list goes on.

I’m not kidding you, my step father is on full DLA with his help!

    He’s a system player
is that a matey way of calling him a fraudulent “benefits scrounger”?

In a nice way, but yes.
Problem is I know quite a few that are at it. Registered carers for their own kids because of imaginary illnesses.
DLA is another thing that needs a shake up in this country. There is an ex union guy that works at a peoples centre next to me that offers to form fill and attend interviews for a cash back hander if your claim goes through! I should have opened a walking stick factory a few years ago, sales would have gone through the roof!

@russ, yes its this sort of thing which is total madness. The bedroom tax was the wrong solution to the problem of under utilised housing stock. The other point worth making is there are plenty of families who’s kids share bedrooms

He’s a system player, his kids are registered as having ADHD and bed wetting etc and can’t share rooms.

I know some one that lives in Scotland. They have 4 kids and he has a low paid catering job.
The council is renting a 5 bed house on a new development for him as they can’t house him. He’s got the biggest house in the estate!

Do they get to keep all the proceeds from the sale?!

    If so, that’s just nuts.

Yip, you had to keep it for three years, used the £77k gifted to them to put a deposit on a 4 bed terraced house.

Just to add, I know a good few people that had elderly relatives in council owned property and they fronted the cash for to buy the house. Let them live their rent free but had them leave the house to them in their will.
    Nice little earner!

    I think it’s great
They should extend it – everyone renting privately should have a right to buy, too

They have got the right to buy. Just not the house their living in and not at a discount.

    russ295

The right to buy IMO was a huge mistake. There was something on TV last night that a council is now renting back (via housing benefit) a huge amount of properties that they used to own themselves. The are also starting to buy them back at market value after selling them years ago at a massive discount.
I bought my first house at 20. Got a mortgage, bought a place that needed done up a bit, sold it a few years later and then done the same thing again.
My sister and her hubby, always lived in council owned homes, had their rent paid as they hardly worked, moved about 6 times, all repairs etc done for free.
They eventually got out to work and put straight in to buy. Paid £19k for it with their discounts (strangely for not paying their own rent) sold it after the 3 years for £96k.
I know quite a few people that have done exactly the same.

30 meter pump. Biggest one they did.
There is a possibility of tying into next door but she’s not to keen. Her son is a builder so I’m going to ask him if he wants to do it if she will go for it.
Other than that it’s bite the bullet and pay!

Not much tbh. Poured the concrete for the footings sat morning. 21 cubed metres.
Pump come in handy, done in 3 hours.
Couple of weeks before the bricky starts.
