Bought 2 helmets from them for my daughter, both didn’t fit and were not great quality imo for price, they refunded no quibbles and did it fast with a phone call to confirm. Initial delivery was quick as well. Helmet quality was not their fault more the manufacturer for throwing it together probably because it was for a 2 year old. I would use them again no worries

Will be fine just may need a little more pressure to stop it squirming.

If its 2 rings up front a medium is all you need. If its a triple upfront you will only really need a long cage if you plan on going largest ring at front to largest 2-3 rings at rear, you shouldn’t really be using these gears so as above a medium caged mech should do you.

I used to suffer with numbness until I forked out on a Brooks. They are pricey, a little weighty but worth every penny, sorted out any problems I had and it didn’t take that long to break in. Only downside is wrapping it in plastic bags when ever it rains!

I have Talas forks and these are the bottom out spacers, their are 1 in each leg on my forks and they just sit at the bottom of each lower leg. Fox lowers are generic so it maybe that you will only use 1 on your forks being floats, but can’t be sure as not serviced any floats myself. I would service them as planned, put it back in the leg you found it then enquire with Mojo on monday about this as they are good for advice, then if you need another 1 or its in the wrong leg its not a difficult switch.

I always let the air out, hit it harder and the washer should be crushed as in the name, should be tightened to around 5-6Nm, I forget the precise torque. Have fun, reminds me mine need doing

Life cycles I found were the cheapest for conti x-kings if you go that way, or about a £1 cheaper each from bike24 in Germany.

I have received my bolts from Pro Bolt and I can say the quality is outstanding, much better than any other Ti bolts I have seen and handled. I agree njee20 that they seem to use Ti bolts in a lot of situations which will put more stress on them than riding over rough stuff fast and out of control! They use them for engine mounts in the veron and plenty other cars and their must be plenty of stress going on their! Anymore first hand views would be welcome.

The skf seals should be a marked improvement, I would just do it as regular as you can depending on the conditions you have been riding in and how often you have been out as the forks are not cheap, I don’t worry about exact timings of servicing, I have just done when I think its needed or I have some spare time to fettle with my bike and I’ve not had any problems with wear on stantions etc. If in doubt I always phone Mojo and go by what they tell me.

Great forks so a great purchase, just swap out the seals to the enduro seals when you get round to doing a seal change. Fox forks are very easy to do a quick or full service so don’t worry about any of it and just enjoy riding. Most people on this forum site like to put a downer on peoples expected purchases unless it has shimano or hope wrote on it or its a ss 29er!

Cheers on and on, thats one reason why I went with pro bolt as they are the best I can source and they make them for motor sports as well. I wouldn’t trust the ebay bolts either.

Just bumping this to see if their are any other experiences of Ti bolts on roughly riden bikes.

I know where your coming from, I often sneak the purchases in or say they cost half the price!! Shhhh don’t tell her! I’m sure you will get a good bike and forks for that money second hand.

I ride a Yeti ASR-5 with fox 140mm talas, great fun on the way down (I run it softer than they recommend, around 35-40% sag) and loves to climb as well. All the bike I want.

Nice to hear all these positive experiences of Ti bolts on stems, went for pro bolt so to get best possible quality. All of your experiences are going towards me focus on the trail ahead and not wondering about my stem security!

No worries Chris, If all goes well I will be able to see where I’m going wrong just that little bit sooner! Hopefully you get shown round because the riding is top notch and their is loads of great descents/trails on those small hills.

Try your talas on a Yeti ASR-5 frame, thats what I run, fast bike, loves the flowing single track as well as the quick and rough stuff. Frame can be had for around £1350 from Freeflow bikes, or you can get it full price from them with CK headset and BB. Great bike, best I have had the pleasure to own.

I know its a bit of a waste of money, but want it for bling and corrosion resistance. I only have 1 bike and spend all my money on it so its top spec. So I’m after advice as wether I will be face planting in the near future or wether they will last? Pro bolt say they are the same strength as high tensile steel.

I would have shown you around but getting eyes corrected so will be out of action. Get a map and head for Stert combe, Bicknoller combe, weacombe combe, slaughterhouse combe, also descent opposite dead women’s ditch (theirs 2, one on left is straighter and on the right is twistier through the trees) also stuff over in the great wood. You want to keep bumping this thread as some one should pick your request up, your mainly looking for Sharkis services if he is in the area.

Just camp in the great wood, you will be at the bottom of the chimney so a good place to finish, Or you have the plough Inn at Holford which is very mtb friendly and a good place to set of from.

I love Hope stuff but their qr seat clamp is not very good, looks nice but is not very smooth or easy to clamp. That salsa came with my Yeti frame and is a dream to use. Made me realise I had been waisting money on the hope ones all this time, I think the shape and longer arm of the salsa makes it much smoother and meaning you need less pressure. Salsa all day long.

X0 or XX is worth the extra money much better performance, smoother and quicker and more positive, and if you shop about you will get the X0 or XX stuff for not much more, I got X0 9 speed rear mech for £105 from merlin and got XX shifters for £132 and X0 10 speed rear mech for £115 from CRC. Go X0 or XX what ever you can afford much better, also got the new X0 cassette which is worth just hanging on the wall!! And yes I have had X9 in the past and their was a noticeable difference in X9 to X0

I only have 1 bike as don’t see the point with having anymore as I only want to ride this bike, my Yeti ASR-5 with 140 talas, CK hubs on stans rims, reverb post with brooks saddle, xx gears with middleburn duo cranks and hope tech x2 brakes and riding on fat conti tyres. Never will wish for more.
