Why have I got a troll at the side of my name?? 🙄

Interesting topic, well done. Here would be my three and in no typical order, first off I would choose
    Dual brake/shifter set- fabulous invention!

Secondly I would chose my met parachute, hence my recent post, protection is of the upmost importance in ones collection.
And thirdly is a very close one between my elbow pads or my reflective ankle straps, that might sound quite bizarre to some of you but as your choosing your up and down seatposts! 😆 I’d rather be seen thank you very much!

Hmmm.. Thanks for the posts. Splendid display of pics there, thanks.
I do wonder why people don’t like wearing them? Is it not a good idea to protect ones face aswell??

rupertpostlethwaite Hmmm. I would have said coed-y-brenin as its super fun and super technical …… might not be the place to go if your beginners anyway!
Um, exactly which bit of CYB is super technical?
Have you ever been mountain biking, like on technical trails?
    POSTED 22 SECONDS AGO # REPORT-POST

Yes I assume by your post that you haven’t, if you had ridden there then I can assure you that you’ll know that coed-y-brenin as as technicaly demanding as you’ll find in the uk! And I’ve ridden most trail centres now, even lee quarry!
Have you done false teeth at coed-y? Probabley one of the most extreme downhills you will find!

Absolutely fantastic it was to watch! Just watching the pros ride over such an extreme course and on hardtails!!! I could not believe my eyes! Far to extreme a course to keep open to the public! However one thing I did notice is why don’t they wear body protection? Surely this is the correct message to send out to our young hopefuls???

    rupertpostlethwaite

Absolutely fantastic to watch!! The pros really do show you how something so extreme like that is possible to do on a hardtails!! I was absolutely gob smacked by it! I really don’t think it’s a good idea to open this sort of course to the public!!
I also noticed that the pros weren’t wearing no body protection!!?? Surely that can’t be a good message to the young enthusiasts of today!

Hmmm. I would have said coed-y-brenin as its super fun and super technical but don’t think you’ll get there in 2 hours!! Such a shame although might not be the place to go if your beginners anyway! 😆
Yes GT is fabulous and if you can do spooky woods this is an exceptional well made downhill track, but be very careful it’s very jumpy so make sure your well protected!

For me it was entertainment at its highest level.
Fantastic atmosphere and George Michael was exceptional! A true inspiration to us all!
I honestly don’t think most of you know what talent is!? Always moaning! 🙄

Well i want to thank everybody who’s had a positive influence on the outcome of the colour I’ve chosen!
Thought its only Christian to let you all know what I’ve decided so hear it is…

    Chrome grey!!

Splendid colour and very conservative and should sell well at the end of its life.
Thanks to those who where positive and took my question seriously.

It seems like Juan posted after my reply to his ha ha ha snowdon post, it looks like alpin agreed with this post. I have no idea what the post said, can’t imagine he could have upset anybody over possibly a bit if banter over what constitutes a rocky trail. Well unless he started calling people names.
Did anybody see this post that seemingly disappeared?
Oh and Rupert I do still think you are amusing, troll or not.
    POSTED 12 HOURS AGO # REPORT-POST

Precisely my point about the rocky trail, I ride around coed-y-brenin, every weekend nearly. Please don’t tell me I don’t know what’s not rocky!!! Has anybody had there frame anodised?

Hmmm… Little bit confused as to how this thread appears to be going! What is all this about a troll!?? Don’t they live underneath bridges! Chuckle chuckle! 😆
I really hope I haven’t offended anyone, I did my research on aluminium and due to the stresses put under a mountain bike, eventually fatigue will set in, causing the aluminium to give in at the weak points, weld points, shock mounts, head tube, dropouts, etc.. For my own safety and others that could be close by I will feel confident and assured to ride my bike after changing the frame approximately every 3 to 4 years. This however is my own conclusion after doing some thorough research.
Thanks to those with the positive feedback, I’m really enjoying looking at the pictures.
    Some fabulous looking bikes.
Has anybody had there frame anodised? Apparently this procedures supposed to be good for aluminium as well as looking great too.

Disgraceful behaviour! Especially to our fellow cyclists, and to come on here and practically gloat about your laddish behaviour! 🙄
I hope you feel proud of yourself! Intimidating other cyclists while in the presence of your friends is without doupt bullying! Would you have done such a thing if you were alone? Hmm, maybe not. I see idiots like you all the time down coed-y-brenin trying to bardge past.

Absolutely outstanding riding chaps, I do think you should think about getting yourself some hand protection though, especially with that kind of riding! Inspiring film, thanks. 🙂

and due to the risk of metal fatigue
    Eh?
    POSTED 20 HOURS AGO # REPORT-POST

Maybe you haven’t heard that aluminium eventually weakens with age as all the stress and weld points through excessive vibration, why do you think you only get 2 years warranty on frames???
Do you not take it seriously enough to realise this?
I ride a lot around coed-y-brenin, maybe you haven’t ridden around there but it’s extremely rocky and I certainly aren’t taking the risk of it cracking on me as I’m thundering down false teeth however slight that risk may be!
I think a lot of people on here would rather injure themselves than purchase a new bike! Absolute madness if you ask me!!! 🙄
So please can I have more pics of your colours?
Thanks mbarnes, very nice combination there one has but don’t think I suit blue, neon orange I do like although a risky colour!! I do like the idea of a camo colour but don’t think orange do such a thing?
Anyway keep them coming and thanks again. 🙂

Hmmm…. Is it way too technical for you patriot pro??? 😀
Well don’t do false teeth because its probably the most extreme downhill you’ll ever do in Britain!
Very good fun but not for the faint hearted! Make sure you can tackle a black route first and then I’d still wear full body protection and a full face!

What’s the Pleney main line got to do with steep and rooty?, it’s so badly maintained it’s shit on any bike. Plenty other nice steep fun technical descents[/b] to ping a hardtail down the same mountain.
    POSTED 48 MINUTES AGO # REPORT-POST

The only thing pinging down the beast would be your ring piece! 😆

Yes rob it’s the one at hope cross, surely you can’t have done it though if that’s your interpretation of it.

I did a downhill a few week ago in the peak district, some of the locals there call it the beast!
Some of us refer to it as “The Fluffy Kitten” on account of it being nowhere near as bad as it used to be or MBR make it out to be.
If you enjoyed it, try Cavedale, steeper, rockier and without the MBR chicken line round the outside.
    POSTED 24 MINUTES AGO # REPORT-POST

I’m sure it can’t be the beast that your referring to! Have you ever tried riding down it!?? I ride a lot around coed-y-brenin and landegla and it’s much more technical than that!! A few of the forum members keep mentioning riding short travel hardtails, I really do not think you want to be taking such a bike down there! 😮

I did a downhill a few week ago in the peak district, some of the locals there call it the beast! Very steep and extremely rocky! It certainly made me feel a bit on edge and it certainly lives up to the name! 😯 don’t try it if riding alone.

Have you actually listened to the language in a primary school playground recently? There isn’t a swear work the average 9 year old doesn’t know and use when out of earshot of his/her parents. The idea that a child would learn any bad language from Singletrack magazine is absurd.

Sometimes I really am shocked at some of the comments on here! 🙄
Perhaps you haven’t sent your children to a respectable school!
My child will have the best of upbringings and the best education one can afford, perhaps the youngsters of this day and age only know such words through poor education…..hmmm, who’s to blame. 🙄

Yes, I too have to agree that we can do with out this sort of appalling language! I have also noticed a lot of foul language on this site, why aren’t the moderators acting upon this!!!?
Makes me wonder what kind of upbringing a lot of these people have had! 🙄

Sounds like you’ll have splendid day ton, wish I could come, but unfortunately I fell off my bicycle at coed-y-brenin and my met parachute took a slight bump so I’m now waiting for a replacement to come through. Well have yourself a fabulous day and do take care if you decide to go on your own! 🙂

The most depressing thing, is that the troll accounts of rupert and fairhurst are derailing this thread. Their posts were never funny, and their (his?) repeated attempts at creating a controversial persona make me feel a little sorry for them.
I thought it was common knowledge that they were immature troll accounts?
    (nice vid by the way)

Reminds me of spooky woods I did a few week back, although none of that idiotic behavour, I think I’ll keep riding on my own thank you very much.

I would most certainly recommend coed-brenin to you, I know it’s not natural but please don’t let this put you off! As long as you wear the correct armour and have reasonable control of the bike you should be ok on the blue routes, once you’ve mastered the blue, you can progress onto the red, I have worked myself up to a descent called false teeth now which is a black route, I wouldn’t try this just yet as its extremely technical and you would need a suitable bike aswell, such as a long travel full suspension or downhill bike capable of such tasks. Good luck with your venture and stay safe.

    rupertpostlethwaite

Please do not ride the bike with any such dints or dents for that matter, as this could lead to early fatigue of the frame which could potentially cause a serious accident! Always be aware! ❗

Hi ton, rupes here, is there any places left? As I would be most interested in participating in your radical day out, I’m just a bit unsure about tyre selection, will my panaracer 1.8 xc pros be up to standard as I use these tyres for coed-y-brenin and that is extreme riding so would these be adequate?

Absobloodylutley! What sort of a question is this!? Mountain biking is such a dangerous sport I find it essential to have a first aid kit to hand! A lot of my riding now i’ve advanced consists around coed-y-brenin which isn’t a place for beginners! One of the most demanding technical descents I have ever done exists there called false teeth and if one was to be a victim of this descent the outcome would not be nice! 😕

I think this entry process is a fabulous idea! Certainly a good way to pick out all the dead wood and keep it to a suitable class. This should be done more often and at places like music festivals to keep all the trouble makers out. My postcard is on its way! 😀
