Very Nice, I like it a lot.

Perhaps you could have used more Nukeproof components though. 😉

It’s great on a hard tail or a full suss, I have done both. Ride what you already have, put decent rubber on it go out there and have fun.

Not sure if it fits the spec, just like em. Take a look at the Coastal Crew Vid

Amusing to see the usual diversity of opinions and experiences.

As for me I find them excellent on everything, all conditions, mud, rock, slate, roots, snow, France, Scotland, England and Wales. I use them all year round. Struggled with Kenda.

I have COD and I have not really gotten into it. I was wondering what else to take a look at.

    Hmm good point.

Shoot em up and driving games I guess. Sport ones too but not football.

But if there are some other styles that are ‘must have’ I would be interested.

    Mike,

My appologies, I in no way meant for my post to sound negative in respect of the Dialled Alpine. I absolutely love the bike and I have not parted with it for that reason. I think your comments regarding their comparability are valid and as is usual, some things suit some people and they don’t suit others.

Hi folks. Just wanted to say thanks for your input so far. I have ALWAYS wanted an RC car and I figured now was as good a time as any to have a go.

    Thanks for your advice.

Hi I have both at the moment. They are both built up and ready to ride. I bought the Alpine first and loved that but I always planned to try a Bfe. I then bought a Bfe and run it with a 160mm fork for everything. I find the Bfe feels more lively as it has shorter chain stays, and I like this. I was looking for something to replace my Stiffee but in steel. I tend to ride the Bfe every ride because it delivers the type of ride I like and feels more responsive. I often ‘cock an eye’ at the Alpine when I am about to go riding, but I can’t face the idea of compromising my enjoyment, so I always leave with the Bfe. I do really like the Alpine but I prefer the Bfe.

I hope this helps I can ‘discuss’ if you wish. 🙂

They sorted my Highline FOC, the bits arrived yesterday, I have always heard good things and my experiences confirm this.

I have an Alpine ‘spare’ as it happens and that one looks ace. Cheers for the idea!!

I am interested in the opinions about fork travel, is 140mm SO inappropriate for a single speed?

I did say 140 ish to try and broaden out the options. I would like to use it for as much riding as possible across the spectrum, so I figured tough and 140 ish mm would fit that specification.

Thanks for the input so far. I need to part with some of my existing ‘stock’ before I get to buy something else, so the Simple, although very tempting is not doable at present. 🙂

My riding mate has a newer Hilux and we have done loads of biking trips in it. It’s a crew cab, the back seats fold up so loads of space in the back I f required. We comfortably did Verbier and back with 4 up and 5 bikes. The Hilux is the best of the bunch from my experience, decent size crew cab drives prety well in my opinion.

We may resort to that. I can’t escape the belief that if something is broken I may be able to change out the part and hay presto all is well.

    Am I deluded, I am arnt I. 🙁

Yes we do live in a hard water area Hertfordshire, no to the de scaler question. I figured the salt was softening the water?

No John, I/we load it pretty carefully to make sure everything washes well. I did check that nothing was stopping the flap from opening. Apparently others have just lobbed the tablet into the cutlery rack when the flappy door thingy fails.

I have a Bfe and an Alpine and I have had a Chamelion and a Stiffee. I loved the Stiffee took it to the Alps and it was my all day every day bike. I would highly recommend it. The Chamelion is very similar IMO.

I currently ride a Bfe and really like it. I also loved the Alpine, it feels as though it has a slightly longer wheel base even though I was running a 150mm fork on it for everything. I run a 160mm fork on the Bfe for everything and I slightly prefer it over the Alpine because it feels a bit more lively.

All of this is totally subjective and I am sure others will feel differently. They are all lovely bikes and you will find something you enjoy about the ride from each of them.

I really fancy the Ti Alpine or the Ti Brodie because they look schweet!

    Hi Tom

The Dialed is MORE stable if anything mate, so if it’s a bit more twitch you are after then it might not be your bag. If your down Hertfordshire way, you are welcome to try mine out. You would probably find a Sovreign more to your liking I believe.

Quite fancy the Sov myself. 🙂

    Hi

I have just returned from the 7 Stanes. We did all of the ‘main’ ones. I took my freshly built Cotic BFE it was great. It was bult with some 36’s. Climbs were climbs decents were great. No problems staying with the pack. I enjoy my hard tails, usually use a Dialed Alpine and they are not dis similar.

My mate took his P7with 36’s too, another satisfied rider.

DO IT DO IT NOW. I am sure you will enjoy it, if not nock it out in classifieds and move on. 😀

    Hi Reggie

Just skimmed through the posts. My offer is a Citroen c8/Peugeot 807 I think and Fiat Ulysse (all essentially the same vehicle). These are huge, you can take seats out turn them around any combo you wish. It takes three bikes complete and riders or 4 with wheels off. We just bought ours a 2005 with 65k fsh for £4k. Well worth a look. Delight to drive. We have had the earlier moddle for years and its been great.

    Hope this helps.

Not sure which ones you specificaly require, but I recently bought some off of e bay. Cheap as chips. Using them for squeezing bathroom sealant to tight spots, rather than anything else you lot might think of.
