Great day out, once again. Thanks to all marshalls and TerraHawks organisational skills. My wifes first stop on the way home was to Cooksons to spend her winnings, funny that it ended up costing more… Not sure I will be allowed to sit around all night in Ed Oxley donated ‘undressing’ robe. Won for being the muddiest rider left in the crowd, thanks for the cheers 😀

Funny about the welds, I got in a strop when I saw the cable guides only to be told if you don’t like them send it back for a refund. I fully admit to being a bit of a ti tart, Merlins have some very pretty welds, and nicely brazed cable guides, but as I now have a Moots and a Merlin as bare frames I made the best choice in declining Sams kind offer of a refund.. If in doubt wait until ridden one and then you wouldn’t care what they looked like. A Foes I have hanging in the garage had some lovely welds until it snapped 😯

Its a case of trial and error, the proper bike kit looks like would work well. In fact I think I will be getting one soon. I ended up searching the net for different ideas, and there are lots. Cable ties, bits of plastic etc have featured heavily for me. Good luck playing, you will enjoy. I use the random stills more than the vid mind.

I use mine with the chest harness, works well under the camelback straps but have added an extra strap to pull the case down to stop bouncing. To get the ‘right’ field of view I mount it the wrong way up and use the new software to record both stills and vid upside down.

Found with the helmet mount ended up smacking branches and didn’t like the extra weight on my head. Can mount all over the bike as well for alternative shots, seatpost, frame, fork etc

Can second the Pegasus love mine, had mine 4 months and now the other 'best' ti hardtails of the past, Merlin XLM and Moots YBB are now just bare frames as weren't getting used…
Very comfy for all day rides even running a Carbon fork, may get a sus fork on it but not felt the need at the mo. Admittedly I do have a full sus for rocky days, but for singletrack Pegasus everytime.

Mrs rsvktm here, I've recently bought a Camelbak L.U.X.E. (2010 model with the D rings) which is the female version of the HAWG; it has 10l cargo & 3l water and of course is female specific, no knocking the helmet on downhills and with enough storage for all day rides.

Not good to hear about you losing out on this, the Police have been very good with dealing with our theft and I can't believe that you have no protection through e-bay/paypal. I am leaving it all in the hands of the Police as I know that have all the information they need, they have been keeping me informed.

    Thanks, rsvktm

Thanks GeForce, think front triangle will look the same so it will give her a good idea.

Clink, when I say tiny I mean that she needs a xs.. Its also a replacement for a 40th present that went missing so think new is the only way to go.

    Cheers

Was a good weekend out, good crowd of ‘misfits’. Course well thought out and plenty of stuff to keep you interested all the way round. Beer shower halfway through second lap was unexpected ! Huge thanks to everyone who organised it. Wales next year…

    Thanks everyone.

Alarm was fitted, thunder storm killed it whilst away on holiday abroad a while ago ie couple of years. Neighbours unable to contact Secondary key holder, alarm kept going all night. Unhappy neighbours. So went the way of ground anchors et al.

Alarm is to be re fitted and back door sealed up, means I have much more limited access to a workshop behind but needs must.

Also police were saying unfortunately it is all to easy to ‘purchase’ and carry a crowbar and pair of industrial bolt cutters.

Police just gone, not a bad response time. 15 hours. Icing on the cake to get a call from shift boss at 10.30pm to ask if ok to wait another hour as they like to get to incident within 2 hours not realising that it was reported at 8am and not 8pm…. Much apologies later, appears been left for them from an earlier shift and then not allocated. Nice.

Chain, bolt cutters. Overnight, nobody heard a thing. Not even the dogs next door. Taken out of a steel back door that was pinned and locked, how they got the ktm out of there I don’t know. No way to get a van that side, police reckon on local toe rags on foot. We have no passing traffic at all, down a little dead end lane.

    Thanks Essel,

Looks like might see CSI in the dark, still no police.. Wouldn’t mind if they just said that not a high priority but to be told don’t touch anything as we might be able to take some prints some 13 hours ago is maybe a bit silly.

Be nice to just make it all secure and have a drink.

p.s. proper supermotos need a lot, and I mean a lot, of tlc. Tiny oil capacity so servicing to a strict hour schedule, valve checks and 50 mile tank range. Also tyres do not last, have an Rsv Mille as well and they are not much different in the tyre usage ie iro 1000 miles to a rear. I could not cope with the KTM, its a tweaked 525 exc with road wheels, as my only bike but for a quick blast not much beats it for me. Yes KTMs are expensive but they do build them right.

Second the test ride. Mate has just bought a superduke r, while he was test riding a standard superduke I took a 690 out at the same time and we swapped half way round. He liked the 690, I didn’t, its very personal what you like in a bike. Mind you though his Superduke is awesome, but not as fast as my 525 on the little roads 😀

5hrs 18mins, 226th. That was hard work, good job the sun was out or there would have been another DNF !
Respect to anyone that rode it, no shame at all in not finishing. Not good re saying that course closing in 10… How do you do that in 3hrs ??? But my wife overheard an organiser saying that they expected the fast ones back in 2hrs, so methinks harder than they thought.
Next year then, get climbing legs sorted. Live in the flatlands of York, so bit of a shock !!

Should make it a laugh then, last time I raced was 20 years ago on a borrowed bike in a downhill race and broke my collarbone. Starting this one with a suspected cracked rib done 2 weeks ago… Bring on the snow, softer landings.

I’ll be there, lost in the middle of 450 others… Well, at the start then progressing quickly backwards. Wonder how they will start that many off ?
