Where ever possible,I spent a fair bit of time in spain, mexico, south america etc, buying of markets, if I’m at a market i haggle, normaly to try and get an extra apple or pear etc.
If I have a budget and see something over my budget I will try and get it for the price I want. I got a £4500 car for £4000 book price was £4100, I expected to get it for around £4250 with a bit of work but the guy came down and threw in on my first offer.
Small or private places I wont haggle to much but places like Arnold clark and car supermarket buy the cars for pennys compared to what they sell them for, the sales men are generally a bit slimy (sorry im sure there not all like that) and they try and slyly hide faults with the cars. (having worked in there valeting centre).
Tv’s, outdoor kit you name it i have no shame in it, I will pay ticket price if i have to but why shouldn’t i try and get a deal. I have people coming and asking to reduce aldi reductions all the time some times we oblige some times we don’t.
RscottFree MemberSounds like counselling maybe a good idea. Even if its as a mediator or someone to step in when the argument is going a little to far south. Plenty of couples go through bad patch’s and its about working them out, a counciler will not look at you As the bad person and will listen to both people with out judgement that’s there job.
y self and partner have been to counselling for depression, it turned out i was the cause of her depression, and my work at the time was causing my attitude. Basically had to choose my career or her, she wins every time. now I am slightly less happy in my new career but much happier in every other aspect of life and her depression has faded into a distant memory.
RscottFree Membercar needed a wash, filled the bucket and got the sponge opened the door and nature did it’s work right that second.
RscottFree MemberDid you Not buy the 3 year insurance that places like pc world offer, I’m sure you can buy them third party,or even protect my buble kind of websites my missus has had 3 new cameras in 2 years 2 due to careless air hostes’s and another due to water ingress, each time they have managed to up grade her camera for the same cost.
RscottFree MemberIm having this but looking at much cheeper options, the Izuzu pickups are horrible for everyday driving having had 2, and test driven a new one the other day with my brothers company. They are practicle and reliable yes but the seats I found horrid and everything was made of cheep plastic.
having said that we wern’t impressed with the drive of the T5, or the fact that everything was also covered in cheep nasty plastic.
He eventuly went for a new (2011) Ford ranger.
RscottFree MemberA corporation like Mcdonalds will probably take your quote to there solicitor/accountant and just give you the money for the damages, as kind of hush money. plus a little extra for your good willed nature and a letter of apology.
they may not though, but hopefully the manager will see good sense and be good natured.
RscottFree MemberSO the done thing is to join a group do your bit in repayment with out any thing but a Hi.
and whats everyones hatred of triples. I don’t use my small ring often but it does come in handy.
Not up on the road biking scene to the extent that it was my first day out with out baggies, and I run mtb spds on my road bike. (I got it for commuting)
RscottFree MemberWhen i use my go pro it is on constantly for 2 reasons, the batterys life time last longer as aposed to it being on and off, and when you turn it off is always when something worth videoing happens.
things like youtube are also a great way of storing video’s that you dont really car if some one rips off instead of filling your hard drive, it also means when your round at your mates you can watch it without taking your desk top with you.
If you don’t like them don’t watch them.
Its like me saying why does everyone (not litraly) ride £4000 full sus bikes, im by no means fit or good, but I over took plenty of people on the latest bikes on my 10 year old inbred today. does it affect me NO.
RscottFree MemberHow come I don’t get the masarati advert, I’m stuck with ebay oxfam and halfords. is it suggeting I cant affored a 30k van or a masarati.
RscottFree Membermy first thought when I read the title was he’s been out on the rodie.
RscottFree Memberyesterday I over took a single cyclist, i crossed fully on to the to her side of the road and passed at a decreased spead. the cyclist moved from there middle of the lane position to thewhite line, when i stoped at 4 way traffic lights they coaught me and started giving me abuse for crossing to the other lane saying I was taking the piss with the amount of room.
You cant win from either side just smile and be happy.
RscottFree MemberThe store have offered you store credit to the value you paid for the bike, even though they didn’t have to as cube are replacing it.
they wont give you a refund as they will then have to spend time building a bike that they will then have to sell on as second hand or a demo bike, as you got a good couple of months of riding out of the parts that are still fine. If they give you a full refund they will have lost out.store credit means at least they will see some of what they are loosing out on back.
As a customer I am with you I would want a full refund but the facts remain that they don’t even have to offer you store cedit as cube are replacing the frame.
RscottFree MemberThe strines road will sort the men from the boys, but its only the first 2 stages, the last few years they have accounted for not very much. the riders will know the dangours and know how to ride safely, im sure there will be one or two accidents but isn’t the always, didn’t richie port ride of the road on a climb last year.
I think at this point the packs will thin out considarably the climbs are much steeper than most alpine climbs with tighter corners, and rather than there being a break away,a peloton and a drop off group there will quickly become several small manageable groups on this section inperticular. Or course i could be wrong.
RscottFree MemberI will have a low %beer or a 330ml bottle with a meal, no more.
If im not eating or only having a snake I wont drink.
I was once stopped, after leaving a pub car park. I was asked if I had had a drink, I answered yes, test came back negative, waited 30 mins b test negative. I was then asked what I had had to drink my answer lemonade. As a young 18 year old I didn’t realise the consequence of this and was soon arrested and taken to the station for wasting police time. I had a stern talking to and was released later no charges.
RscottFree MemberWe rode from bruge to ypres along the canal, it wasnt challanging but was a nice thing to do,and educated some of the kids we had with along with us.
RscottFree MemberUsing the high presure pump scott provided according to the shock settings on the body, the scott concept store set it up too and it was the same then tried to fob him off saying it was ment to be like this.
I’ve told him to contact tf and loco.
as for the pikes a root through a seal box found a replacment and a helpfulllink on line, http://www.basquemtb.com/repair-leaking-pike-motion-control/ sorted it.
RscottFree MemberCheers i have serviced them recently chaniging all the seals but the one inside the motion control.
The scott doesn;t just sit in its travel it wont even pull futher out, that’s with the bike unweighted.
RscottFree Memberdont know about any planning or permission but as stated above water seepage may be an issue, you would need to dig the pit bigger than needed. dry line it/damp proof it, then line with concrete or similar to hold in place.
RscottFree MemberI know this fact, but i couldn’t fault the enduro It climbed amazingly, and descended even better. But maybe im just looking for an excuse to blast around on the HT.
RscottFree Memberstay wellclear of the 1.9cdti modles, there clutch and gearbox were renound for being made of material with the consistency of Philadelphia.
RscottFree MemberTalk to the shop, if they havnt got the parts in stoke they willmost likley understand, or try and make a better offer (maybe not match online but may nock10% off and throw in fitting).
If they cant im sure they will be great full for the business of fitting and any future business of repairing and servicing.
I buy online but would use my lbs if they deserved it but personal finding a good one around here is difficult.
RscottFree MemberNo but the riding about 30 mins away in the peaks is ment to be great.
RscottFree MemberLucys is good, unfortunbatly i think the rattle gill cafe has closed in ambleside might be wrong though,
Go walking, go out on the lake. peter rabbit museum, visit Ambleside keswick. Go to a climbing wall, go to a cragg. Lakeland wildlife centre isn’t far away.
RscottFree MemberBecause Wakefield as an area is a much less desirable place to live than most places in yorkshire. The city its self is run down and quite frankly not very nice.the areas you talk of are on the out skirts but not far enough out to be away from the city, and the motor way is very close which means traffic can be an issue.
there is no reason it shouldn’t be similar prices except location and the fact is its one of the less desirable places to live. (I live about 10mins away)
RscottFree MemberI dont own a fast car at the moment, but my brother V50 t5, with a phase 3 tuning done to it is kicking out 360bhp, his impreza is a little more now. But id much rather be in the volvo, it eats tyres, but is so much more secure on the road and inside it feels like a luxury car.
the impreza is quicker round a corner but rattles like a piggy bank. and is left for dust in a straight line.RscottFree MemberGary the day i bought that one i won another on ebay, Sold it and kept yours somthing just wasnt right with the other.
RscottFree MemberI dont think a Company dealing with ware heads, military plains commercial plains and most other things will be skimping on bearings. infact the last set lasted quite some time.
RscottFree MemberTabled them up in my store ready to go on sale.
They have a year warrenty and feel very similar to the material the old hydro packs were made of.
The plastic top seems ok and the bite valve has a cover but no lock.
for £5.99 i don’t think you can go wrong.
RscottFree MemberIt was Huddersfield bearings but I get them through my brother in law now who gets them cheaper as he works in one of the biggest engineering company in the country.
RscottFree MemberI Don’t understand why people go to bike shops for bearings.
If you have your bearing, take it to a local engeneeing supplier. there will be a tiny code on it somewhere and they will get you the exact same thing for much cheaper.
did a 2004 specialized enduro for £7 the other day.
Hope rear hub £5
Race Face Dues head set £1.20RscottFree MemberSorry I ment peaks wrote lakes out of habit as I used to ride and live there.
RscottFree MemberI think 3 months is a reasonable time to be expecting to be back at work, places like the NHS should have things in place for light dutied people,i know we do at Aldi and we are living so far in the past.
imexpecting to be on light duties such as no deliverys or warehouse work for at least 2 months.
RscottFree MemberThats a basic recovery time. I will have that off work, then up to 6 months before im back doing normal activities Mountain biking kayaking and a year of intense physio before im back to the standard I was before.
By no means think its going to fix the issue, some people still get pain after, all the surgeons can do is give you a shoulder you had before injury, you can rip it appart again, or it may cause other issues.
I havn’t riden my mountain bike or kayaked since jan, I’m on painkillers every day, and it was my fault for rushing after my previous surgery,a shoulder is a delicate joint.
RscottFree Memberpretty sure there’s still a wimpy and a stolen from ivor in Huddersfield.
C and A is big in most of Europe, As is Intersport which we don’t have many of left.
Joe Bloggs Shops, and Famous army stores (with no army kit what so ever) seem to have dsapeared.
RscottFree MemberGetting mine mid may, unfortunately mines going to involve some rasps and a pin, 6 weeks immobilised, even when sleeping, another 6 weeks basic movment NO lifting, then 6 weeks before I can get on a bike and almost a year before i will be back kayaking. This is my second on the same shoulder,i didnt take my recovery as seriously as i should last time so this time i will be going all out on it.
RscottFree MemberIts £20 pay up, if you get rid of the car claim it back if your that bothered. But my feelings are if you can affored a 2.0l Sline on a 13 plate you can affored to tax it.
VED is a funny thing. I have a ford focus 1.6tdci,my mum has a mazda 3 1.6
both are the same year both have the same engine both put out the same co2 emmisions hers has alloys and is £30 a year mine has steels and is £105 a year.
